The last time Angel had faced an enemy so much larger than herself had been in the Salinger Mausoleum deep within the Berserk Sea. Back then, as only a Demoness of Despair, she had been helpless against a Feathered Serpent whose head was as large as a mountain. Even a Petrification charm could inflict only negligible damage.
But now, she too was an angel, with a complete mythical creature form. Moreover, having been bestowed with the power of a War Bishop while already a Demoness of Catastrophe, her Gorgon form incorporated aspects of the Hunter's Calamity Giant. Although that portion had yet to reach the level of an angel, it still made her body as hard as steel, set its surface ablaze, and inflicted searing damage on anything she touched—or burned it outright.
At that moment, Glory's nearly five-meter-long foot was planted on precisely such a mass of "steel and flame." Though half his body weight pressed down on it, cracking the ground, he could never quite crush it.
Moreover, through that physical contact, a destructive grayish white spread rapidly upward from the sole of the giant's right foot. In an instant, it had passed his knee, almost turning his entire leg into stone!
This was the true power of a Demoness's mythical creature form. Though Angel could not yet make the dead fall in love with her or make stones turn toward her, petrification and disease could rapidly spread into the giant through contact.
Rumble—
Amid the thunderous noise, cracks appeared across the giant's right leg, which resembled a towering tree. Petrified tissue flaked away, and orange twilight spilled through the gaps, aging everything it illuminated beneath the scour of time.
Unlike a Marauder angel's theft of life, this made all things equally decline and die in the twilight.
