As the Archbishop of the God of War Church, Larion had close ties with the Einhorn Family of the Feysac Empire and was familiar with the Sequence 1 characteristic of the Conqueror pathway they possessed.
But the Salinger's Blood Banner hurtling toward him now carried an aura of conquest even stronger than that characteristic. Larion was absolutely certain that if it struck him, he would die on the spot as though a weak point had been hit, regardless of where the blow landed.
Was this the Conqueror characteristic once possessed by the Sauron Family of the Intis Kingdom before it vanished, or the Uniqueness that had never appeared throughout the Fifth Epoch? Several questions surfaced in Larion's mind, but he did not dare face the iron-black flagpole and bloodstained banner head-on. In the nick of time, his body merged into the surrounding light, causing Angel's attack to miss.
This was Borrowing Light Concealment. Having faced Saints and Angels of the Twilight Giant pathway many times, Angel knew this ability's weakness. Countless threads burning with black flame immediately spread through the surroundings, swiftly attaching themselves to Larion, who had concealed his figure but remained tangible. Flames ignited across his body, only to be extinguished by a layer of orange-red light.
At the same time, Salinger's Blood Banner began using Summoning to transform the surrounding earth and trees. Earthen puppets over two meters tall pushed up from the ground, while human outlines appeared on tree trunks too thick for one person to encircle, and wooden figures emerged from them. Mouths, noses, and limbs grew on their bodies, and azure flame weapons appeared in their hands, almost filling the battlefield.
With a series of swishes, several silver-white lights flashed past, and the bodies of the earthen puppets near Larion burst apart from within.
