This transparent mask not only allowed her to switch freely between her true appearance and various disguises, but also gave her the power to see and manipulate spirit body threads and interfere with divination. Most importantly, it came with an illusion that made her face difficult to discern without arousing suspicion, providing a double layer of protection.
For precisely this reason, when Angel dropped her disguise before the altar, Tracy's gaze took several seconds to focus on her.
