As the ritual candles flickered, the headless messenger Reinette emerged from the void. All four heads in her hands turned toward the purplish-red charm beside Angel's hand.

Was she interested in the Petrification Charm? No, she was wary of it...

Meeting those four pairs of crimson eyes, Angel suddenly understood why Reinette was watching the charm.

The powerful messenger had sensed a threat.

That meant the new method of concentrating the power in her blood had greatly increased the charm's potency. It could even threaten a messenger who was at least Sequence 3.

So the better part of a day wasn't wasted. I concentrated over a hundred milliliters of my blood with Black Flame and nearly exhausted my Spirituality to make this charm. And the toll on my strength was definitely more than that blood alone. It seems Will Auceptin was right: a Demoness's power lies in her blood... Angel muttered to herself as she handed over the letter and the coin she had prepared.

Reinette slowly drew her gaze away from the Petrification Charm and looked at the letter and coin. After a moment, her four heads spoke in turn:

"Next time..." "Don't..." "Use..." "Gold Louis..."

Angel froze and looked at the coin in her hand. Only then did she realize it was not a Loen Gold Coin, but a Gold Louis worth twenty verl d'or, bearing the portrait of the Intis Republic's first president.

It had originally borne Roselle's portrait and been called the Gold Roselle. But after Emperor Caesar was assassinated and his empire collapsed overnight, the republic had redesigned the coin to erase his influence.

More importantly, twenty-four verl d'or were worth one gold pound. A Gold Louis was therefore worth less than a Loen Gold Coin.

"Sorry, I took out the wrong one." Angel
