Behind a reef not far from Blue Mountain Island, where Bayam stood, the Golden Dream lay quietly at anchor, its hull gleaming as though gilded and its enormous main cannon towering above it. A small boat slowly approached, and the person aboard climbed the rope ladder lowered over the ship's side.

The answer only deepened Danitz's confusion. He entered the cabin area and made his way to Anderson Hood's guest cabin, knocked casually, then pushed the door open himself.

"You actually came back. I was just about to head to Bayam to find you."
