Could it be... that I asked something I shouldn't have...?
Just as Angel waited anxiously for the other woman to break the awkward silence, the Mirror Person suddenly smiled and answered:
"How could that be? You're the one who activated the runes, traveled from Bansy Harbor to Trier, and then came to Dream City, not me. Would you encounter two Annes or two of Amon's Avatars?"
Never mind two. Even a hundred of Amon's Avatars wouldn't be strange... Angel muttered inwardly, understanding what she meant.
From the Mirror Person's explanation, she could deduce that this "time travel" did not truly alter future spacetime. Rather, it was a "loan" that gave her some extra time but required her to return to her original time as soon as possible. During that period, not only could the two Angels not meet, they would also be better off avoiding any overlap and not interfering with each other's actions.
As for everyone and everything else in the world, there was still only the original version of each, with nothing added or removed...
"But that raises a question... If I use Dream City's Beyonder characteristic to advance to Sequence 2 five days from now, then return to the past, wouldn't there be two Catastrophe characteristics on November 12? One inside me, and another still in Dream City, not yet extracted?"
Angel chose her words carefully, as though asking a teacher for guidance.
This question had lingered in her mind ever since she decided to use the runes in Bansy Harbor to "travel through time." But the situation had been urgent then. She had needed to pass through the runes connecting the two locations as quickly as possible and leave her "imprint" at an earlier point in time, so she had never had a chance to ask.
