Background / History

Han Yu was initially a talented but arrogant fifth-rank Guardian Knight. Backed by his grandfather, Holy Knight Captain Han Qian, he grew complacent and neglected the humility required by the Knight's Ten Commandments. His overconfidence was exposed when Long Haochen defeated him in the Knight Trial; Han Yu had failed to summon his Evil Eye mount and could not withstand Long Haochen's decisive thrust. 104

After the defeat, Han Qian gave him a choice: leave the Knight Hall or become the squire of either Long Fan or Long Haochen. Han Yu chose Long Fan and swore five years of service beneath the God of Light. The resulting Squire Knight Contract triggered a second awakening, raising his Innate Inner Spiritual Power from 63 to 81. 104 105

Han Yu's parents died on a battlefield involving Demon Gods. Their deaths, and his resentment toward Han Qian for sending them into danger, became an unresolved source of fear and distorted pride.
