Background / History

With the exception of the Seventy-Two Demon Gods themselves, demons originated from Saint Demon Continent life forms that were mutated by the Demon God Pillars. This demonization was gradual rather than immediate after the pillars' descent 625 761.

The Demon Race is portrayed as a highly balanced clan with combatants spanning nearly every level of power. Its population is lower than that of the Dual Blade Demons, but its overall strength is considered second only to the Heaven Defying Demon Dragon Race among the major demon forces 172 700.

Its defining trait is evolution: even a Little Devil can potentially rise through the hierarchy, and a Demon King who gains a sufficient opportunity may replace the clan's reigning sovereign 172.

• Demon Cavalry are commonly composed of Greater Demons and are used for reconnaissance, raids, and direct battlefield engagement 172.
• They ride Nightmare Demon Horses, the Demon Race's signature summoned mounts 172 521.
• Nightmare Demon Horses possess exceptional evolutionary potential; the strongest can reach the equivalent of ninth-step professionals 521.

God Emperor Legion

• The God Emperor Legion is an elite regular force capable of restoring order after heavy losses under a Demon King's command 523.
• During its retreat through the Demon Subduing Mountain Range, the legion lost most of its force; fewer than one-fifth survived the initial ambush and magical devastation 521.
• Its remaining formation used Demon Race troops as an outer defensive screen while protecting frailer Hell Demons nearer the center 521.

Siege Warfare

• The race deploys low-ranking demons as expendable siege troops while placing higher-ranking combatants around a camp's perimeter for faster response 708.
• In the assault on Yu Long Pass, forces under Samykyna supported integrated air-and-ground operations, carrying other demon units into battle while ground forces advanced on fortified positions 700.
• Demon forces have repeatedly used numerical pressure and cannon-fodder tactics to exhaust human defenders and consume their ammunition 583 593.
