After rejecting Yu Xiaogang’s guidance and preparing for their first Soul Rings, Gu You and Tang San entered the Spirit Beast Forest, where Gu You vowed to find a way to advance without Soul Rings.

• Old Jack found the abandoned Gu You, and six years later Gu You and Tang San prepared for their Martial Soul Awakenings.
• Gu You awakened the Ultimate Conductor Tyranno with Innate Full Soul Power, while Tang San awakened Blue Silver Grass and secretly revealed his Clear Sky Hammer to Gu You.
• Gu You identified Tang San’s hammer as the Clear Sky Hammer and advised him to develop Blue Silver Grass for support and the hammer for forging.
• Gu You challenged Yu Xiaogang’s theories, and Tang San left without accepting him as a teacher after Yu Xiaogang failed to explain his proposed Blue Silver Grass configuration.
• Gu You and Tang San enrolled at Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy, where Xiao Wu defeated Tang San and became the Seventh Dormitory’s boss.
• Gu You tested their Martial Souls, selected potential Soul Beasts, and received Tang San’s Mysterious Heaven Skill, which he found improved the flow of his Soul Power.

Gu You gained his first Soul Ring, developed theories about Soul Skills and Soul Master roles, and helped Tang San and Xiao Wu consider the limits of resurrection. His research reached Bibi Dong and Hu Liena, while the group returned to Holy Soul Village and found Tang Hao gone.

• Gu You killed a Hunting Wolf, absorbed its Soul Ring, and gained Survival Instinct, while Tang San absorbed a Lightning-Struck Wood Soul Ring and found a Spirit Bone that Ma Xiunuo later gave him.
• Gu You advised Xiao Wu to develop as an Agility Attack Soul Master and recruited her to help with his research, then wrote an article redefining Soul Master types and team tactics.
• Gu You, Tang San, and Xiao Wu studied how Soul Power moved through Martial Souls and Soul Rings, and Gu You warned Tang San to protect the powers that might someday help resurrect Ah Yin.
• Bibi Dong ordered Gu You’s article tested by the Spirit Hall team and scheduled for publication after the next Martial Soul Tournament, while Hu Liena studied its classifications and tactics.

After Tang Hao left, Gu You helped Tang San and Xiao Wu become family and continued developing his theories on Soul Master growth. Their Soul Beast hunt ended in a deadly encounter with a Fallen One, after which Gu You took the recovered Evil Book to Spirit Hall and prepared to travel with Su Yuntao.

• Tang San grieved Tang Hao’s departure, but Gu You and Xiao Wu encouraged him, and the three accepted one another as family.
• Gu You introduced his Soul Master classifications and development paths, then helped Si Si and Wang Sheng select Soul Beasts for their first Soul Rings.
• Gu You, Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Su Yuntao hunted in the Spirit Beast Forest, where Si Si and Wang Sheng absorbed Soul Rings from a Tentacle Rose and a Soul Tiger.
• The group found a village full of murdered people, and Gu You confronted the Soul Elder responsible for the massacre.
• Xiao Wu diverted the Soul Elder’s attack, allowing Gu You to kill him with his completed Rasengan, but Gu You collapsed from his injuries.

After reuniting with Xiao Wu, he trained with her and Tang San, took Lanta as his disciple, and began preparing the group for their second Soul Rings.

• Gu You completed articles on Soul Master battle systems, and Ghost Douluo praised his work, offered him a place in Spirit Hall, and gave him a token after destroying the Book of Corruption.
• The Holy Spirit Cult Leader ordered cultists to spread Books of Awakening, while Di Tian summoned Xiao Wu, told her to find the human with the Heavenly Mandate, and sent her to bring him to the Soul Beast clan.
• Gu You returned to Holy Soul Village and reunited with Tang San, while Ning Fengzhi, Qian Renxue, and other leaders considered how to use the new tactics and find their anonymous author.
• Xiao Wu returned from the Star Dou Great Forest and reunited with Gu You and Tang San, who set a goal of reaching Level 20 and began practicing realistic combat.
• After Lanta asked to become Gu You’s younger sister, Gu You took her as his disciple and taught her the Mysterious Heaven Skill, then arranged for Lian Tui to teach her hunting and archery.
