Pure Gold.
This was a legend that had circulated across the seas for many, many years.
According to the legend, ancient alchemists long ago had refined a wondrous metal from gold.
Although this metal had the same appearance and color as gold, it differed in that it emitted a dazzling radiance.
It was said that this light could even pierce through the deep sea, reaching all the way to the seabed even from the surface.
Of course, the remarkable thing about this metal called Pure Gold was not that it could emit light. Its true power was that anyone illuminated by that light was said to gain eternal life.
To obtain Pure Gold was to obtain immortality. That was how the legend described it.
Though it was only a legend, quite a few great figures of the seas throughout history had made it their lifelong pursuit.
But of course, no one had ever seen it with their own eyes.
Even now, Pure Gold existed only in legends passed down by word of mouth. No one knew whether it truly existed.
So when Bright told Tesoro that Pure Gold really existed and that he had a way to obtain it, Tesoro was utterly dumbfounded.
He had even suspected that Bright was joking with him.
Even now, as Bright brought him outside Fish-Man Island and said they only had to wait for Pure Gold to deliver itself to them, Tesoro still did not believe it.
"Don't worry, my friend."
Bright stretched lazily. "I have no reason to deceive you, do I? If I say it exists, then it definitely exists."
Tesoro shot him a sidelong glance. Bright could hear that the man still did not really believe him.
But Bright did not care much. He only needed facts to convince Tesoro.
