Mastering Hamon
Hamon was a special Breathing Style in the JOJO World, said to have originated in Tibet, China. By breathing in a specific rhythm, it altered the oxygen content in the blood and greatly enhanced the body's abilities.
Because this unique breathing rhythm generated a force within the body resembling ripples, it was called Hamon.
Furthermore, because the Ripple produced by this Breathing Style possessed the same properties as sunlight, it had devastating effects on creatures such as vampires and the Pillar Men.
But in Bai Cangshu's eyes, this Hamon had another special effect, one that was highly useful to him.
Ki.
Bai Cangshu knew that Mercenary Tao had initially thought highly of him. He could learn those martial arts movements after seeing them only once.
The special talent identified by the space as Absolute Territory not only gave him the ability to unleash power beyond his limits under certain circumstances, but also granted him powerful control over his body.
All along, Bai Cangshu had been able to reproduce almost any movement in its entirety after seeing it.
That ability to coordinate and control his muscles seemed innate.
But Ki was completely different.
Mercenary Tao had tried several times, yet Bai Cangshu had been utterly unable to grasp that intangible thing.
He did not know whether it was because he was not from the Dragon Ball World or for some other reason, but he had failed to master Ki Sense.
In the Dragon Ball World, quickly grasping the sensation of Ki was practically the standard mark of a genius.
Whether it was Tien Shinhan or the young Son Goku, they had basically been able to master Ki the first time they encountered it.
Compared to such talent, Bai Cangshu naturally lagged far behind. Mercenary Tao had therefore all but abandoned him, sending him directly to the inn at the foot of the mountain and decisively refusing to continue teaching him martial arts.
Bai Cangshu did not resent Mercenary Tao. He had killed him entirely because the mission required it.
Nor was Bai Cangshu disappointed in himself. He knew very well that his inability to master Ki Sense was most likely due to differences in identity and race.
But correspondingly, he also possessed advantages that Tien Shinhan and Son Goku could never match.
He was a Reincarnator!
A Reincarnator capable of traversing countless worlds and coming into contact with innumerable rare treasures and abilities!
Things like energy cultivation were not exclusive to the Dragon Ball World.
The so-called Ki of the Dragon Ball World was similar to a biological magnetic field, a special form of energy.
There were actually quite a few similar energy systems. The reason those Martial Artists and aliens in the Dragon Ball World were exceptionally powerful was not because Ki itself was so special.
It was because those people themselves were strong. With overwhelming strength, the sheer quantity of their Ki had reached an utterly crushing level.
As a rookie Reincarnator, since he had obtained such a powerful ability as the Divine Finger Technique (Dodon Ray), he naturally had to work toward this direction.
Once he could cultivate this ability, it would become a truly terrifying trump card.
"Good. Name your price."
Bai Cangshu was not surprised to see that the other party truly possessed Hamon. After all, the Stone Mask and Hamon were products of the same stage of the story.
Compared to those terrifying Pillar Men, it was much easier for Reincarnators to ambush and kill some users of Hamon.
Kai felt increasingly unable to see through the Reincarnator before him, the one with the "Visage of an Ancient God."
He had clearly seen what he wanted, yet he still showed no emotion at all. Could it be that he was not buying this for himself, but for a friend or teammate?
Unable to determine the other's true intentions, Kai could not easily name a price.
He could only test the waters.
"One D-rank Anomaly Point, plus 3,000 Dimensional Points."
Bai Cangshu shook his head. Although he did not know the space's market prices, he knew that under such circumstances, the other party's first offer would inevitably be a probingly high price.
"Too high."
Kai was now somewhat certain that the other party was also a High-tier Reincarnator, perhaps equipping second-string members of a team or gathering with abilities, or perhaps preparing to enter JOJO or another world with vampires.
He decisively lowered his offer.
"Two E-rank Anomaly Points, plus 2,500 Dimensional Points!"
Bai Cangshu had his own bargaining philosophy. The first offer could be rejected without consideration; for the second offer, one needed only lower the price from the other party's figure.
That would get one close to the actual price.
"One E-rank Anomaly Point, plus 2,000 Dimensional Points."
Kai sat down and shook his head firmly.
"That price is too low. Two E-rank Anomaly Points are non-negotiable."
Bai Cangshu had roughly sensed the true value of this Hamon, so he said,
"Two E-rank Anomaly Points, with no Dimensional Points."
He keenly noticed that the stall owner was extremely adamant about Anomaly Points and refused to budge, so he changed his angle and offered all the remaining Anomaly Points directly.
After hearing the offer, Kai pondered for a moment before agreeing to the trade.
Number AX95162347 (Kai) has initiated a trade with you. Accept?
"Accept."
You have obtained Ability Scroll: Hamon (C+)
Kai looked at the Anomaly Points that had been credited to his account, and some of the tension in his heart eased. With these things, the team's urgent needs could now be resolved.
Looking at his trade information, he nodded at Bai Cangshu.
"Mercenary Tao, right? You're a smart guy. I'll remember you. We can cooperate if there's an opportunity in the future."
He gave Bai Cangshu's terrifying face, which made people feel as though they had suffered mental damage, one final look. Then he turned, packed up his stall, and left directly for the miracle of the so-called East District—the Goddess's Abode.
Bai Cangshu knew that the other party was probably going to use the Anomaly Points. He had wanted to follow and take a look, but then he glanced at the time he had left to remain in this space.
He decided that before the next mission began, he would return to the space and selectively enhance himself and make his choices.
More importantly, Bai Cangshu had realized another use for this time limit in the space.
This was a peaceful zone within an independent space. If he encountered any danger in the real world, he could actually hide in the space and use these stalls and the other Reincarnators to find a way out of his predicament.
But once he used up all his remaining time, that trump card would disappear as well.
With a thought, he instantly returned to his private space and then tore open the Ability Scroll.

Bai Cangshu immediately checked his panel and found that an ability category had appeared beneath his specializations.

As the rhythm of Bai Cangshu's breathing through his nose and mouth changed, the special cadence caused fluctuations to arise within his body. Then, stirred by those fluctuations, Ripple emerged.
His body also became lighter and stronger, but when Bai Cangshu pressed a hand against the wall, he did not feel the power of Hamon Overdrive.
It seemed his Hamon was only at Lv1 for now. If he wanted to use it as flexibly and variably as in JOJO, he would need much more practice.
Bai Cangshu only made a brief attempt before gripping the doorknob, preparing to return to reality. After all, he could not waste precious time on this sort of experimentation.
