In the corridors of Arkham Asylum, Bane frowned slightly. Batman's attitude gave him an uneasy suspicion. He remembered that when he was training with his master in the forest, his master had used that same tone, as if he were making final arrangements.

"What are you going to do, Batman?" Unable to suppress the doubts in his heart, Bane asked.

He truly hated Batman. He hated Batman for wanting to turn this city of sin into an ideal city, a city without crime. Bane wanted nothing more than to shatter Batman's spine and snap his arms.

But all of that depended on him defeating Batman with his own hands, not on Batman being defeated and destroyed by some unknown force.

And within Arkham Asylum, quite a few people shared Bane's thoughts.

Joker was one of them. Why did he constantly hurt Batman and repeatedly exploit the people close to him? It was to destroy Batman's convictions and make him believe that only chaos could endure.
