Smallville High School.
News that Jino was going to hold a Dance Party swept through the campus like the wind.
"Hey, did you hear? That rich kid is throwing a Dance Party?"
"Oh my God, I can't imagine how lively it'll be."
"Someone said there'll be expensive food and fine wine!"
Almost everyone was talking about the Dance Party.
What these high school students cared about even more was who had received an invitation and who wasn't qualified to attend.
In their minds, campus popularity had already become linked to eligibility for the Dance Party.
On the school field, Clark and Pete were surrounded by a crowd.
"Please, Pete, I think I need that invitation~" A busty girl winked at Little Black Pete, gazing expectantly at the stack of invitations.
The crowd was a noisy mess, like hundreds of flies buzzing around them.
"Oh God!" Little Black Pete couldn't help wailing. He said to Clark beside him, "I'm starting to think Jino saw this coming and that's why he had us do this."
Pete complained, "And he took Chloe out to buy a dress for the Dance Party."
Clark had no time to pay attention to Pete's complaints. He was standing with Lana Lang, registering applicants. Even though he was so busy his head was spinning, he still felt as sweet as could be.
After parting ways with Jino, Clark had immediately sought out Lana Lang and asked his goddess for help.
Lana Lang had given Clark an idea: first count how many people wanted to attend, then screen them again to finalize the guest list.
"Um, excuse me... may I sign up?"
A gentle voice rang out. Clark looked up to see a slightly plump girl standing timidly among the crowd.
She wore a purple shirt and baggy jeans. When she lowered her head slightly, a double chin formed beneath her jaw.
She was clearly a fat girl, and the evasive look in her eyes showed how insecure she was.
"Wow, what do we have here?" A high school boy holding a basketball sneered from the crowd. "A whale wants to attend a party for high society?"
"What are you going there for? To put on a show of swallowing food whole?"
Before he had even finished speaking, the crowd erupted in laughter.
Clearly, people did not share the same joys and sorrows.
"Hey, don't talk about her like that!" Pete couldn't stand it any longer. He glared at the basketball player and threatened, "If you keep causing trouble, I won't give you an invitation!"
Hearing Pete's threat, the basketball player shrugged and turned his head away. "Wow, I never knew you liked fat girls."
"Hahaha!"
Another burst of laughter followed. This time, the mocking stares and jeers from the crowd seemed like blades stabbing into the fat girl's heart. She covered her face and hurried away from the field.
"Julie!" Pete wanted to chase after her and check on her, but the next second, another crowd surrounded him to ask about invitations.
"Waaah!"
Julie didn't know how she got home. She ran into her room, threw herself onto the bed, and burst into tears.
"No one likes me. I'm just a big fat pig!"
Tears slid down the girl's fleshy cheeks and soaked her pillow. Seemingly exhausted from crying, Julie slowly sat up, determination filling her eyes.
"No, I'm going to lose weight!"
She rushed out of her room and headed to the family vegetable garden.
The girl crouched down and pulled several green vegetables from the garden.
She had a plan: she would juice these vegetables and use the juice to replace the food she ate every day.
"These stupid rocks."
She grabbed the green stones mixed into the soil and tossed them into the trash.
After finishing all that, Julie carried the vegetables into the kitchen.
Bzzzz!
The juicer ground up the vegetables into a thick green liquid.
Julie took a deep breath. Looking at the astringent green juice in the glass, she closed her eyes and drank it all in one gulp.
She smacked her lips, wiped the bits of vegetable from the corner of her mouth, and murmured, "I hope this helps me lose weight."
The next morning, the fat girl Julie woke from her sleep. She rubbed her eyes, put on her shoes, and began the first thing she did every day after waking up—checking her weight.
She stepped lightly onto the scale. As the red numbers changed, Julie was stunned to discover that she had actually lost weight!
"This is amazing!"
The girl hurried excitedly to the mirror. She gently lifted her pajamas, and her once-bulging belly visibly shrank before her eyes. A charming line of abdominal definition had even appeared.
Her ugly double chin was gone, and her thick thighs had slimmed down as well.
"Th-this is incredible!" Julie clenched her fists excitedly. The feeling of becoming thinner intoxicated her.
Then, she began to wonder why she had lost weight.
"That's it, the Vegetable Juice!" Julie's eyes lit up, and she dashed barefoot downstairs.
If—if she had become thinner, maybe she would qualify to get an invitation to the Dance Party from Pete!
Luthor Manor.
At the dining table.
"You're holding a Dance Party tonight?" Lex speared a piece of fried egg and put it into his mouth.
"Of course. This manor is too quiet. It should be livelier." Jino raised an eyebrow, took a sip of his favorite milk, and asked, "Do you want to come? I can give you an invitation."
"I'll pass." Lex picked up a napkin and elegantly wiped the corner of his mouth. "I'm planning to establish a local agricultural alliance to turn around the company's losses and shut that vampire up while I'm at it."
"By the way." Lex seemed to think of something and stared at Jino. "Have you found a dance partner?"
"Yes, a girl from the local high school."
Lex smiled. "Lucky girl."
"So, half of the two hundred invitations have already been handed out?"
At school, Jino draped an arm around Clark's neck and teased, "Let me think. Is Lana Lang on the invitation list?"
"Hey, Jino, don't say that." Clark stammered without answering directly. "Lana Lang is kind, warm, and cheerful. She deserves to attend the party."
As the two talked, Chloe and Pete popped up from nowhere.
"You won't believe this!" Chloe looked excited. She glanced at Little Black Pete, who looked like he had lost all will to live, and said, "Someone actually likes Pete too."
"Hey!" Pete cried indignantly. "I'm pretty great too, okay?"
"Oh? Which girl?" Jino raised an eyebrow. "Did you give her an invitation?"
"I-I did." Pete rubbed his cheek and said, "I couldn't believe my eyes. That girl named Julie was still really fat yesterday, but when she asked me this morning if she could be my dance partner, she had already slimmed down by an entire size."
"Like a slightly plump beauty." Chloe folded her arms and said what Pete wanted to say, but her eyes were full of confusion. "But I can't think of anything that could make someone lose an entire size overnight."
Clark didn't have so many concerns. He simply smiled and patted Pete on the shoulder. "Not bad. Congratulations."
