Threatening Me?

"Ring, ring, ring."

The dismissal bell echoed across the campus.

In the hallway, several long-legged girls stopped Jino.

The white girl at the front deliberately rolled up her shirt, revealing her flat stomach. Tilting her head, she stared at Jino. "So, do you have time tonight?"

The other two wingwomen chimed in, "We're having an awesome party."

"That's right. We hope you can come!"

Jino looked at the young women before him, smiled, leaned down, and pinched the lead girl's cheek. With a soft laugh, he said, "Sorry, but my brother and I have to clean up the manor tonight, so I might not have time."

"But once the manor is cleaned up, I'll invite everyone to a dance party there."

The three girls froze for a moment before crying out, "You mean Luthor Manor!?"

"That's your home?"

"Oh my God."

Clearly, the girls were shocked that Jino owned a manor.

"He really knows how to charm girls."

In the hallway, Chloe remarked wistfully, "With that face, no girl would reject him. If it were you, it'd count as harassment."

Meanwhile, Pete said excitedly, "I only care about the party he mentioned. If he invites me, I'm definitely going to stuff myself at the dance party."

"What are you talking about?" Clark suddenly appeared behind them.

"Oh, God!" Chloe and Pete both jumped at Clark's sudden appearance.

The two turned around and glared at Clark irritably.

"What do you mean, 'Oh, God'?"

Before they could recover, Jino's voice suddenly sounded behind them as well.

That made it a double scare. Pete wore an expression uglier than crying. "Why do you all like silently appearing behind people?"

Chloe quickly recovered and gestured for Clark to act with her eyes.

Meeting Chloe's gaze, Clark paused slightly. Then he remembered what she had arranged for him during class, so he scratched his head and said, "Jino, um, are you interested in joining the School Newspaper Club?"

"The School Newspaper Club?" Jino frowned. After glancing at Clark, the boy grinned. "Sure. Why not? I'm pretty interested in the School Newspaper Club too."

That was all bullshit. Having lived a second life, Jino was only interested in becoming stronger and flirting with girls who were hard to win over. The only reason he agreed to join the club was to earn more points from Clark.

Chloe immediately looked delighted. She had not expected this blonde transfer student to agree so readily. Even Pete had not expected it.

Chloe cleared her throat, just about to say something to Jino, when the phone in his pocket rang.

"Sorry, I need to take this." Jino raised an eyebrow, gave them an apologetic look, then walked away and answered the call.

An unfamiliar number was displayed on the screen. As soon as Jino answered, he heard a somewhat youthful male voice. "Hello, Jino Luthor."

"Jeremy?" Jino's powerful memory immediately recognized the voice on the other end. He had seen the other person in the cornfield before.

Back then, he had been about to save that unlucky guy, but the meteor shower arrived. In the end, he could only let Jerome hang from the cross and face the meteor strike.

Afterward, that unlucky guy had become a vegetable, lying unconscious in a hospital for more than a decade.

"Hehe, I'm glad you still remember me."

"But now, we need to settle a score."

The voice on the other end turned cold. "Especially when I was hit by that meteor and you people did nothing."

By the end, Jeremy's voice carried a hint of gritted teeth.

Jino frowned. "Are you blaming me?"

"I wanted to save you then, but I had to consider the situation."

Jino's voice gradually turned cold as well. "I don't think I should have sacrificed myself to save you."

Jino had seen plenty of people like Jeremy—typical moral blackmailers. As long as you did not help them, it was your fault.

The other party had not even considered that the Luthor Family had covered the medical expenses for all those years he had been unconscious.

"Hehe, believe me, you'll regret it." Jeremy threatened him before hanging up.

Jino put away his phone, his thoughts heavy. His sharp hearing caught the whistle of wind behind his head, and he sidestepped without looking back.

A fist scraped past his clothes and slammed viciously into the hallway wall.

"What are you doing?"

Jino stared expressionlessly at the person who had ambushed him—a Blonde Young Man in a red-and-white football uniform. His face was dark, like a furious grizzly bear.

"Jino Luthor, right?" Whitney silently withdrew his arm. Though his right fist hurt like hell, he still struck a tough-guy pose and challenged Jino with his eyes. "I need you to do something for me."

"Go be this year's scarecrow!"

Jino folded his arms. "I'm in a bad mood right now. Leave before I change my mind."

An ordinary person without Kryptonite wanted to kidnap someone with Superman's Powers and make him a scarecrow.

It was about as ridiculous as Lex getting chicken shit all over himself as a child and being furiously scolded by his father.

"Quit acting like some rich young master!" Whitney sneered, stepping closer to Jino.

By then, a large crowd had gathered in the hallway to watch.

"Hey, what are you doing!" Clark came to Jino's side, intending to stop the conflict.

Whitney, the football captain with his massive chest muscles, puffed himself up. He glanced at Clark. "This has nothing to do with you, farm boy!"

Then he fixed his gaze on Jino and shouted, "I'm going to teach you a hard lesson!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the man clenched his fist and threw a vicious straight punch at Jino's handsome face.

The crowd erupted in gasps. Quite a few students could already picture Jino with a bruised and swollen face.

Clark instinctively stepped forward. He intended to stand in front of Jino and take the punch for him!

But, to Clark's surprise, Jino moved even faster than him in that instant. He seized Whitney's arm in a flash and gave it a light twist—

Crack!

A crisp sound of bone breaking rang out. Whitney's forearm snapped, the broken bone piercing through flesh and jutting into the air. It looked especially terrifying.

And all of it had happened in an instant, so fast it could have been measured in milliseconds.

Clark stared wide-eyed at Jino, his face filled with shock, disbelief, and anger.

He was shocked and bewildered because this was the first time in all his years that he had encountered another Metahuman like himself. He was angry because of Jino's cruelty toward Whitney.

Jino had actually snapped Whitney's arm!

Before Clark could recover, Whitney's miserable scream rang through the hallway the very next second. "Oh, shit! My arm!"

He stared in horror at his twisted arm. The intense pain made him clutch it and roll around on the floor, blood continuously spurting from the wound and splashing onto the tiles.

The onlookers were also stunned by the horrifying sight, breaking into frantic discussion.

"W-what happened?"

"Oh my God, what's going on?"
