Ch. 431Your Pain

Clark was taken over by an alien starfish called Starro and flew away, prompting Jino to rush to the scene. Jino arrived and asked Chloe where Clark had gone.

Jino investigated the alien starfish that had controlled Superman and discovered the American government had captured it years earlier. At Amanda’s facility, he revived Green Arrow Oliver and learned Trevor had betrayed Amanda and taken the starfish, apparently intending to control Superman.

  • Jino ordered Singer to search American government and military files, uncovering a report about an alien starfish captured three years earlier and later studied on an island.
  • Jino visited the island, rewound time to inspect what had happened, and saw the Suicide Squad arrive, including Harley Quinn.

Ch. 433The Hiding Rat

Starfish Tentacles controlled Clark and Diana, while Bruce discovered a specimen in a gift from Selina and learned that Trevor was behind the attack. Jino and Bruce suspected Trevor planned to use the Justice League’s powers against them, but they had not found the hiding Singer.

  • A little girl gave Diana a gift box that released Starfish Tentacles, which attached to her forehead and controlled her.
  • Alfred delivered Selina’s gift box to Bruce, and Venom detected and pierced a living, conscious starfish inside it.
  • Jino appeared in the Batcave and told Bruce that Clark and Diana had been controlled by Starfish Tentacles.
  • Jino identified Trevor as the mastermind behind the attacks and said he had killed Amanda while preparing to frame someone else.
  • Bruce suspected Trevor planned to use controlled Justice League members against the League, but Jino said Singer remained hidden.

Ch. 434One Against Two

Batman tracked Trevor to the Amazon Rainforest, where Starro-controlled Superman and Wonder Woman were guarding him. Jino and Barry headed there, and Jino began fighting the two controlled heroes.

  • Batman used tracking devices to locate Trevor in the Amazon Rainforest, and Jino predicted Trevor would target him and Batman.
  • Barry contacted Jino and Batman after escaping Starro, then agreed to meet Jino in the Amazon Rainforest.
  • Trevor rallied his soldiers and presented the controlled Superman and Wonder Woman as proof that his plan was working.

Ch. 435Defusing

Jino freed Diana and Clark from the starfish creatures while Batman defeated the soldiers guarding the forest. The group entered the cabin and confronted Trevor, the apparent mastermind.

  • Jino used the Lasso of Truth to pull Diana close and destroyed the starfish controlling her.
  • Jino restrained Clark with golden chains and told Diana that Batman had gone after the mastermind.
  • Batman defeated the soldiers after Jino made their firearms disappear, and The Flash joined him.
  • Jino destroyed the starfish on Clark, freeing him from its control.
  • Jino, Clark, Diana, Batman, and The Flash entered the cabin, where Trevor greeted them beside a large blast-proof fish tank.

Ch. 436Result

Jino confronted Trevor after foiling his conspiracy, but Trevor killed himself and triggered a nuclear-material device in the Great Starfish’s tank. Jino escaped the explosion, and Batman gave him Trevor’s plan before Jino burned it.

  • Jino confronted Trevor and reprimanded Diana and Clark for letting themselves nearly be controlled.
  • Trevor admitted defeat, then shot himself, triggering an alarm and a device containing concentrated nuclear materials.
  • Clark warned that the device could destroy the rainforest, and Jino ordered him to evacuate everyone while he stayed behind.
  • Barry evacuated Batman, while Clark and Diana escaped; Jino vanished just before the device exploded and engulfed much of the rainforest.
  • Batman gave Jino Trevor’s report, which revealed his plan to control Clark and Diana, then use the Great Starfish to control much of America and wage war on the Justice League.
  • Jino burned Trevor’s report and watched the forest burn.

Ch. 437An Invitation from the Avengers

After returning to Smallville, Jino left Clark to deal with Lana Lang and Abby fighting over him, then answered Peter’s call to join Thor and the others after the New York invasion. Tony revealed that he planned to form a team and invited Jino to join.

  • Jino and Clark returned to Smallville and found Lana Lang and Abby brawling over Clark.
  • Jino vanished to answer Peter’s call, leaving Clark to stop the fight.
  • Jino arrived at a party with Thor, who told him that Loki had escaped after stabbing him and refusing to return to Asgard.
  • Peter excitedly told Jino about his role in defeating the Chitauri invasion, then Thor sent him away.
  • Tony showed Jino his plan to form a team with Thor, Peter, and himself, and admitted that he wanted Jino to join.

Ch. 438Ending

Jino refused Tony’s offer to join the Avengers, but an approaching alien invasion pushed Tony to accept Fury’s proposal to unite their forces. At the Source Wall, Jino chose to remain in this universe rather than return to his old life, and his memories rewound to the beginning of his journey.

  • Jino refused Tony’s invitation to join the Avengers, then stopped shattered glass in midair after an explosion rocked the room.
  • Jino spotted Thanos’s approaching fleet, including Chitauri Motherships, while Tony agreed to Fury’s conditions for forming the Avengers.
