Amid the bustling streets and endless tide of pedestrians, Shen Ye stood silently, as though he belonged to a world apart from everything around him. His expression was rather spectacular. "Longhu Mountain? The Grand Heavenly Offering Ritual?"
After arriving in this unfamiliar yet somewhat familiar world, he had made some inquiries and concluded that he had indeed transmigrated once again.
Shen Ye felt somewhat relieved. Luckily, the world he had transmigrated into this time was Under One Person; at the very least, he did not need to worry about a language barrier.
After all, with his current divine powers and abilities, he could not yet read memories without harming a person's soul.
Once he had calmed down, a long-forgotten heat stirred in his heart.
In his previous life, he had not cared much about improving his strength, because he knew that no matter how diligently he cultivated, there was no way he could reach the level of Heavenly Emperor Fuxi within a mere century or so.
But now, that extravagant hope might not be impossible. At worst, he could consider other paths—for example, immigrating to another world.
"Still, there's one more problem!" Shen Ye frowned slightly. He was not sure of the flow of time in this world.
What if time flowed too slowly in this world? By the time he returned, would the seas have turned to mulberry fields?
The problem was that the bead had not done anything for the previous hundred years, and he had yet to figure out how it worked. If he rashly transmigrated back and the bead had not accumulated enough energy for a second trip between worlds, would he not be wasting this heaven-defying opportunity for nothing?
"But I'm not entirely without ideas about activating this bead. At the very least, let me go confirm something first!"
Shen Ye turned around and met Hua Yue's eyes, which were filled with confusion.
Though she was deeply puzzled by the situation before her, she did not ask. If it was something she could know, A'Ye would naturally tell her.
After pondering for a moment, Shen Ye smiled. "Just think of all this as a gift from Great God Shennong."
Hua Yue's eyes lit up, and she said joyfully, "That's wonderful! With Great God Shennong's blessing, A'Ye, you'll never have to worry about the High Priest forcing you to do things you don't want to do again!"
Clearly, she had no interest whatsoever in why Great God Shennong, who had been missing for years, had suddenly revealed a miracle. All she could think about was how this news would help Shen Ye.
Shen Ye nodded and smiled. "I'll teach you some of this world's language first."
The two of them possessed appearances and bearing that were exceptional even among the divine descendants. In this mundane world, they stood out like cranes among chickens.
On top of that, their priestly robes counted as "strange attire" in this world. As they walked along, they drew countless curious gazes.
Fortunately, there were no blind fools in front of Longhu Mountain. People merely found them stunning.
Then the two of them were stopped.
"Tickets. Two hundred and sixty per person!"
Shen Ye, who had been explaining language equivalents to Hua Yue, froze. He had genuinely forgotten about that.
After all, during the more than hundred years of his previous life, he had never possessed the concept of money.
Seeing that neither of them took out any cash, the ticket collector uncle sternly snapped, "What are you looking at? You think being handsome means you don't have to pay?"
Shen Ye laughed despite himself. Just as he was about to muddle through with an illusion, someone beside him took out some money. "I'll pay for this little brother."
Turning his head, Shen Ye saw that the speaker was a man who looked rather lazy and roguish. He was accompanied by two other men and a woman.
Shen Ye, who knew the course of this world well, naturally recognized the speaker as Xu Si, the North China Region head of Nadou Tong, Hua Nation's official organization for managing superpowered individuals.
The other three were his older brother Xu San, Nadou Tong's temp worker Feng Baobao, and the central figure of this Grand Heavenly Offering Ritual, Zhang Chulan.
Shen Ye did not stand on ceremony. He nodded. "Thanks."
Xu Si chuckled and lowered his voice. "Little brother, you snuck out behind your family's back to attend the Grand Heavenly Offering Ritual, didn't you? You even forgot to bring money."
Beside them, Zhang Chulan was dumbfounded. "Holy crap, aren't they only middle-school age? Is the real superpowered world actually this wild... Wait, they're superpowered individuals, right?"
Xu San shot him a glance. "Don't know."
Zhang Chulan asked in confusion, "But Fourth Brother obviously treated them like superpowered individuals, didn't he?"
"Their bearing!" Xu San answered succinctly. "We still can't be sure they're superpowered individuals, but ordinary people are unlikely to possess that kind of bearing!"
Zhang Chulan nodded unconsciously. He had noticed it earlier—their whole "style" was different from everyone else's!
They looked as though they had stepped out of the primordial wilderness, completely unlike those people merely wearing cosplay skins!
"But even if they are superpowered individuals, Fourth Brother didn't need to be this enthusiastic, did he?" To Zhang Chulan, it was truly hard to understand how Fourth Brother, with that lazy, lackadaisical temperament of his, could be so welcoming.
Xu San rubbed his chin. "The company has records of every notable family and sect in the superpowered world. But with those two's outstanding bearing and clothing steeped in history, if they really are superpowered individuals, they shouldn't be completely unknown!"
Zhang Chulan suddenly understood. "So Fourth Brother's acting all familiar because he wants to probe their background?"
The six traveled together until they parted ways when Zhang Chulan went to pay a visit to Longhu Mountain's Old Heavenly Master.
Shen Ye and Hua Yue headed for the rear mountain, where the Grand Heavenly Offering Ritual was actually being held.
While Zhang Chulan was speaking with the Old Heavenly Master, Xu San walked over to Xu Si, who seemed somewhat distracted. "So? Did you find anything out?"
Xu Si slapped a hand against his face. "This is seriously creepy!"
Xu San raised an eyebrow. "What happened?"
Xu Si's face was full of conflict. "Would you believe it? When I was trying to fish for information from that little guy, it felt like I was being questioned by some old superior. Our presences weren't even on the same level!"
"Huh?" Xu San's face was written with disbelief. "A rascal like you actually cares about something as vague and intangible as presence?"
"I'm serious!" Xu Si lowered his voice. "Do you think they might be from some reclusive family?"
"A reclusive family?" Xu San's mouth twitched twice. "And I'm from the Dragon Group."
Xu Si nodded in deep agreement. "Going by what people say online, our company can actually count as the Dragon Group too!"
Xu San: "..."
The trial at the back mountain was extremely simple: a great canyon cut off the two sides, with only a hemp rope connecting them.
It was not particularly difficult even for ordinary empowered people, so Shen Ye and Hua Yue naturally crossed with ease.
After passing the trial, they began to see truly large numbers of empowered people.
However, Shen Ye did not go join the bustle. Instead, he led Hua Yue into the forest behind the mountain.
As the ancestral seat of the Zhengyi Sect, Longhu Mountain was one of the rare places in this world where spiritual energy gathered. Few people had felled its forests, so the trees grew lush and flourishing on their own, with spiritual vitality contained within.
"For the mundane world, the quality of the spiritual materials here is already quite good." The slight furrow in Shen Ye's brow relaxed. As the most elite Grand Automaton Master, so long as he was given suitable materials, he could absolutely forge automaton armor far surpassing his own strength!
This was his greatest source of confidence in this world!
