A despairing roar tore through the Chaos, filled with bone-deep terror.
They had thrown everything they had, yet couldn't even block a residual strike from Pangu—one casually swung out, with ninety-nine percent of its power already withdrawn!
Pfft! Pfft!
Two soft sounds, like a breeze snuffing out candle flames.
Under those two backhanded axe lights from Pangu, their power reduced to less than a tenth, the desperate resistance of the Two Sages of the West was as fragile as a mantis trying to stop a chariot.
Their Bodies of a Sage, along with the protective Treasure Banner, Wonderful Tree, and phantom Sarira, dissolved like lingering snow thrown into a heavenly furnace.
No violent explosion occurred. Silently, inch by inch, they disintegrated into the finest, most primal... ash!
Sagefall!
And not just any—two Heavenly Dao Saints, before the Great God Pangu, couldn't even withstand a sliver of his residual power, and were utterly reduced to ash!
Only now did the Two Sages of the West truly, viscerally, and indelibly experience once more what Pangu was!
What the Opening of Heaven and Earth meant!
What... true despair was!
It was a power from an entirely different dimension!
The Sage power they prided themselves on was, before Father God, more insignificant than dust!
The two clouds of ash, containing the Saint's Origin and shattered Dao principles, weren't completely scattered by the raging Chaos Gas Flow.
In some inscrutable way, they were faintly drawn by the lingering aura of their own spiritual treasures—the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree and Jieyin's Treasure Banner.
Even more so, they were attracted by the "target" they had locked onto so desperately before.
Drifting and floating, as if alive, they fell toward the chest of Pangu's infinitely majestic form—toward the future location of the Western Mount Sumeru in the Prehistoric World!
Specks of ash, silent and soundless, merged into the thick, vast embryonic mountain range that was transforming from Chaos into the Prehistoric land.
Carrying the Two Sages' unwillingness, their schemes, and a trace of their insignificant origin imprint, they deeply branded themselves into the core of this future Western ancestral vein.
In the instant before their consciousness sank utterly into boundless darkness and eternal slumber, a realization from the very origin of time and space, like a cold lightning bolt, split through their drowning minds.
So that's it!
We were born destined to be bound to the West, with Sumeru as our foundation—it was no accident!
All cause and effect begins at "this moment"!
If we hadn't "fallen" here today and imprinted our origin here, our future foundation wouldn't be so tightly entangled with this Western ancestral vein—it might even have broken away!
Today's cause forges the fruit of the future Western Teachings!
This... is the eternal cycle of cause and effect, the entanglement of past and future!
At the same time, a wave of bitter regret surged: If they had known the Western "Heavenly Mandate" stemmed from this moment's own cleverness, why would they have locked their sights so stubbornly on this future barren land?
Perhaps... perhaps there were other, better choices?
But what followed was an even deeper confusion and dread: Without this "fall" and imprint today, could they... still have smoothly attained that eternal, indestructible Heavenly Dao Saint position?
Every bite and sip—is it all Heaven's decree?
This Heavenly Mandate and causality are truly profound and unfathomable, chilling to the bone!
As the Two Sages of the West were instantly reduced to ash under Pangu's casual strike and completely merged into the embryonic vein of the future Mount Sumeru, the trace of contempt on Primeval Lord of Heaven's face turned into an icy indifference. The Jade Purity Immortal Light around him rippled faintly, as if he intended to retreat.
The Chaos was perilous, Pangu's divine might unfathomable—even the mighty Two Sages of the West had fallen in an instant. There was no point in staying.
Sages were Immortal and Indestructible; after returning this time, perhaps the Two Sages of the West would revive.
But this kind of "meaningless" death—he had no desire to experience it.
This journey back in time had already taken them to places they had never reached before, shown them sights they had never seen. That was enough.
Returning to comprehend what they had observed and felt would surely deepen their understanding of the Great Dao.
Yet, just as Primeval Lord of Heaven was about to speak up and suggest leaving, Laozi, who had been silent as a mountain, seemingly fused with the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda, suddenly lifted his eyelids.
In his calm, well-like eyes, for the first time, the magnificent scene of Pangu opening Heaven and Earth—Chaos first dividing, laws arising and perishing—was clearly reflected, as if infinite Dao principles were flowing and evolving within.
He spoke slowly, his voice not loud, yet like the first Dao Sound at the dawn of Chaos, it instantly overpowered the roar of the River of Time and rang clearly in the ears of the other three Sages:
"I... understand."
"Eldest Brother, what do you understand?" Sect Master Tongtian, the most impatient, immediately pressed.
Though shocked by Pangu's divine might, he felt more unwillingness and fighting spirit. For Laozi to suddenly speak now, there must be deep meaning.
Laozi's gaze was profound, as if piercing through endless temporal turbulence to stare straight at the core of the Opening of Heaven and Earth. His voice was calm but carried an unshakable resolve:
"We too should go to the time of the Opening of Heaven and Earth and make a trip."
At these words, it was like a Chaos Thunderclap exploded!
Primeval Lord of Heaven's pupils contracted sharply, the icy indifference on his face instantly replaced by disbelief: "Eldest Brother... you... what did you say?"
He thought he had misheard.
The bones of the Two Sages of the West were still warm... well, their ashes hadn't even cooled yet, and the lesson was right before their eyes!
To go to the time of the Opening of Heaven and Earth?
How was that any different from seeking death?
Empress Nuwa also abruptly withdrew her gaze from the fledgling form of the Prehistoric World, her stunning face filled with shock as she exclaimed.
"Senior Brother! You want to venture into the time of the Opening of Heaven and Earth? Aren't you afraid of death? The fate of those two Daoist friends from the West is still fresh before us!"
Her heart grew even more anxious—if the Three Pure Ones also fell here, the entire structure of the Prehistoric World would be overturned. What would become of her child?
Sect Master Tongtian was stunned as well. Though he loved battle, he was no reckless fool.
To face Pangu head-on?
How was that any different from challenging the Heavenly Dao?
Laozi, however, slowly shook his head. His gaze swept over Primeval Lord of Heaven and Tongtian, then briefly glanced at Nuwa. His tone carried a clarity that saw through all illusions.
"Afraid? Of course I am. But we must take this path."
He paused, his gaze turning resolute once more as he looked at Primeval Lord of Heaven and Tongtian. "Follow me."
Before the words faded, the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Exquisite Pagoda above Laozi's head blazed with boundless light. Hundreds of Millions of Years of Xuanhuang energy cascaded down, shielding him completely.
At the same time, an ancient scroll depicting chaotic yin and yang swirling and encompassing all things flew from his sleeve—the Innate Supreme Treasure, the Taiji Diagram!
The Taiji Diagram unfurled beneath his feet, transforming into a golden bridge that stabilized the chaotic earth, water, fire, and wind, carving out a relatively stable path.
"Primeval Lord, raise the banner!" Laozi's voice was steady, brooking no dissent.
Though Primeval Lord of Heaven's heart churned with turmoil, Hundreds of Millions of Years of trust in his Elder Brother had long been etched into his instincts.
He almost instinctively summoned the Pangu Banner!
The banner's surface rippled, chaotic Sword Qi surging unpredictably, its terrifying rending aura spreading out, resonating with the golden bridge of the Taiji Diagram to further stabilize the path.
"Tongtian, set the formation!" Laozi commanded again.
Sect Master Tongtian took a deep breath, suppressing all his doubts and shock, his eyes blazing with unwavering determination.
"Fine! Eldest Brother, Second Brother, today we brothers shall brave this forbidden ground of the Opening of Heaven and Earth together!"
With a long roar, the Four Swords of Zhu Xian clanged in unison, soaring into the sky!
The Lu Xian Sword, Xian Xian Sword, Jue Xian Sword, and Zhu Xian Sword instantly took their positions in the four directions.
A terrifying web of killing Sword Qi interwove, evolving into the first killing formation of chaos—the Zhu Xian Sword Formation!
The formation's radiance enveloped the Three Pure Ones, granting them the ultimate power of offense and defense.
The Three Pure Ones united as one, and four supreme treasures manifested their might simultaneously!
A surge of the Opening of Heaven and Earth's aura, born from the same root yet each uniquely profound, erupted with a roar, briefly carving out a domain of their own within the raging chaos!
Three streaks of light, guided by the golden bridge of the Taiji Diagram, cleaved open by the edge of the Pangu Banner, and shielded by the slaughter of the Zhu Xian Sword Formation.
Boldly charged into a region deeper than where the Two Sages of the West had fallen, closer to the core of Pangu's Opening of Heaven and Earth.
The towering, heaven-supporting figure of the Great God Pangu seemed to pause slightly.
He had just "driven away" two "insects" from the future, and now he sensed another presence—stronger, more familiar, yet even more "intrusive"—rapidly approaching the world he was creating!
An indescribable irritation welled up within him.
The Opening of Heaven and Earth was his great undertaking, poured from his entire life and Dao principles—it could not tolerate the slightest interference!
Instinctively, he raised his hand to wipe away this new disturbance, just as he had done with the Two Sages of the West!
The phantom of the Heaven Opening Divine Axe coalesced in his hand, its terrifying aura, capable of severing all past and future, spreading once more...
At this critical moment!
Laozi, standing at the forefront of the Taiji Diagram's golden bridge, suddenly looked up.
His gaze pierced through layers of chaos, fixing directly on the boundless, majestic figure of Pangu. Drawing on all his Dao cultivation, he let out a cry that shook time and space, brimming with reverence and longing:
"Father God!!!"
