Trading Tang San, Yu Xiaogang
Tang San's expression darkened slightly. He thought for a moment before speaking.
"Master's strength... isn't very great..."
Yin Hao looked "surprised," but he still nodded.
"I see. I thought the Grandmaster was very strong..."
Tang San's mouth twitched even harder. He was starting to wonder whether something had been wrong with his head back then—how else could he have chosen to take him as his master?
But since he had already taken a master, a master for a day was a father for life. He would never go back on it.
"The four-hundred-year Mandala Snake was powerful, but after a fierce battle, Master and I still killed it." (In truth, Tang San had basically killed it alone, but he said it that way to make Yu Xiaogang look better.)
"And its Soul Ring suited me very well, so I absorbed it. But just after I finished absorbing the Soul Ring, I heard something that sounded very much like a dragon's roar. Then the snake-type soul beasts in the forest went mad and attacked everyone they saw. Master was bitten by several venomous snakes as well."
"But all the medicine I had on me had been used up, so I could only seal Master's acupoints with Soul Power to stop the venom from spreading before dragging him back here to find an antidote."
That dragon-like roar had most likely come from the Profound Pool Ice Serpent. Yin Hao had not expected that he was the one who had gotten Tang San and Yu Xiaogang into this mess. Why did that... make him want to laugh a little?
After hearing Tang San out, Yin Hao finally looked "enlightened" and hurriedly took out the medicine he had bought at the market yesterday from the bag behind him.
"Little San, I have medicine here. Take it quickly. These two bottles are for external injuries—treat the wounds first. These two bottles counter snake venom—hurry and give them to the Grandmaster."
Tang San glanced at Yin Hao in surprise. But remembering that Yin Hao had apparently gone to obtain a Soul Ring too, it was perfectly normal for him to have brought some medicine, so he did not ask further.
After giving Yin Hao a grateful look, Tang San accepted the bottles. He first fed the snake venom medicine to Yu Xiaogang, then stored the two bottles for external injuries in his Twenty-Four Bridges on a Moonlit Night, intending to use them after returning.
Congratulations, Host. You have traded two bottles of medicine for 20 years of Tang San's first Soul Ring Year Limit. Claim it? Congratulations, Host. You have traded two bottles of medicine for 20 years of Yu Xiaogang's second Soul Ring Year Limit. Claim it?
As the two notifications rang out in succession, Yin Hao only wanted to say one thing: Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
After chatting with Yin Hao for a little while longer, Tang San pulled the cart step by step toward Yu Xiaogang's dormitory.
The snake venom medicine Yin Hao had given him could only slightly suppress the venom. To completely remove it, they still needed a properly prepared antidote.
Back in the dormitory, Yin Hao looked around. There was no one there.
Just as Yin Hao was wondering about it, he heard two people talking in the hallway.
"Those Work-Study Students really don't know their place. They actually dared challenge Boss Xiao from sixth grade. I doubt we'll see any Work-Study Students in class tomorrow."
"You can't put it that way. If the Work-Study Students dared challenge our academy's little tyrant, they must have something to rely on. I heard a new first-year student joined them, a little girl who's very formidable. All the Work-Study Students call her Xiao Wu-jie. Apparently, she was the one who started this. Their wager is pretty extreme too. If Boss Xiao wins, every Work-Study Student will become his pet. If the Work-Study Students win, then Xiao Wu-jie will become Xiao Wu-jie to the entire academy."
"These Work-Study Students are just courting death. No matter how impressive a first-year little girl is, how impressive can she be? Boss Xiao is one of the few sixth-year students in our academy who has reached the Soul Master realm. Looks like Boss Xiao will have another group of followers soon."
Hearing this, Yin Hao remembered.
"Seems like this happened in the original plot. The location... seemed to be... the Back Mountain? But the Back Mountain isn't small..."
He stepped outside and saw the two sixth-year boys who had been speaking walking nearby. Yin Hao called out to them.
"Senior..."
The two boys turned around and immediately spotted Yin Hao. Honestly, with Yin Hao's current looks, he could not exactly charm both men and women alike, but his six-year-old body combined with his exceptional appearance made it hard for anyone not to feel favorably toward him.
"What is it, junior?"
Yin Hao asked,
"I just heard you seniors talking about the fight with the Work-Study Students. Do you know where it is?"
"You're interested too?"
"I want to go take a look."
One of the boys said,
"It's in the forest on the Back Mountain. It's easy to find. But I'd advise you not to go, in case you get caught in the crossfire..."
Yin Hao thanked him, then ran toward the Back Mountain.
Yin Hao arrived at the Back Mountain a little later than Tang San had in the original story. Wang Sheng had already been injured by Liu Long and was being helped to sit off to the side by several Work-Study Students.
The moment Xiao Wu saw Yin Hao arrive, a smile appeared on her face.
"Hao Ge, you're back?"
Everyone else's eyes lit up as well, and they shouted excitedly,
"Boss!"
Yin Hao smiled and nodded. After greeting Xiao Wu, he walked over to Wang Sheng, extended his hand, and injected a stream of green Soul Power into Wang Sheng's body. This was the healing talent that came with the awakening of the Blue Silver Emperor Bloodline. Though it was far inferior to the Nine Heart Begonia's effects, it could still treat minor injuries.
As Yin Hao's Soul Power entered him, Wang Sheng's furrowed brows gradually relaxed. He had been sweating from the pain, but though he was not fully healed, the pain had stopped. He looked up at Yin Hao, showing a hint of joy, and respectfully called out,
"Boss."
Yin Hao nodded and said,
"Rest at the side for now. I'll handle the rest."
Xiao Wu moved closer to Yin Hao and said,
"Hao Ge, that bastard Boss Xiao just said he wanted me to be his pet rabbit. He's been bullying us Work-Study Students too. You have to avenge us..."
Xiao Wu spoke with a wronged expression, as though she had suffered terribly. Yet she did not have a single injury on her, and even her clothes were perfectly neat. She probably had not even fought.
Seeing Xiao Wu's troublemaking expression, Yin Hao rolled his eyes at her.
But he still intended to step in. After all, if he did not, setting aside what the Work-Study Students might think, Xiao Chenyu's group would continue causing trouble for them in the future. Rather than deal with endless trouble afterward, he might as well make them remember him for good today.
Ling Feng was still shouting provocations from the field.
"Hey, kid, you're the boss of these Work-Study Students, right? Wang Sheng, I have to say, how have you fallen so far? You actually recognize a six- or seven-year-old child as your boss. Aren't you ashamed?"
Hearing that, Wang Sheng's anger flared. He had just been about to stand up and return to the field to teach Ling Feng another lesson, but the moment he exerted himself, a sharp pain shot through his chest, making him frown again.
