Chapter 5: Sharingan
Tang San winced slightly from the pain of being grabbed, his brows furrowing, but he still spoke.
"It's Yin Hao, the one who often brings us rice. He has no parents, just an orphan adopted by Grandpa Jack."
"An orphan? Blue Silver Emperor? A Yin... Could they be twins? But why didn't she tell me? Could it be... she knew everything? No... impossible... She couldn't have known..."
Tang Hao seemed possessed, his whole body turning dazed as he kept muttering to himself.
Seeing Tang Hao like this, Tang San could not help but look worried. He wanted to call out to him, but he was afraid that suddenly interrupting him would drive him even madder. All he could do was stand to one side, watching Tang Hao talk to himself with a tense expression.
About ten minutes later, Tang Hao finally came to his senses. He glanced at Tang San, said nothing, and returned to his room alone.
Meanwhile, Yin Hao was examining his second martial soul.
"Sharingan! It really is the Sharingan!"
Standing before a mirror, Yin Hao looked at his reflection. His blue hair fell to his shoulders, his skin was as flawless as white jade, and his Peach Blossom Eyes seemed to be constantly sending out sparks.
Of course, none of that was the important part. What mattered was the pair of red eyes, each containing a black magatama shaped like a tiny tadpole. If that was not the Sharingan, then what was?
Looking at himself in the mirror, Yin Hao suddenly smiled.
As an old fan of Five Village Tool Fight: Legend of Eyes, Yin Hao had once fantasized about having a pair of Sharingan. Not for killing people, of course. He simply thought they looked cool!
Once Susanoo was unleashed, no one mattered. Once Kamui appeared, it dominated all directions. Then there were Tsukuyomi, Kotoamatsukami, and Amaterasu, the strongest physical attack that could not burn anyone to death, not to mention the basic abilities of dynamic vision and skill-copying.
After all, in the Fire Shadow world during the Warring States era, even with Hashirama standing right there, Madara could still say, "Before the Sharingan, everyone here is trash."
Although it was only a Single Tomoe, it was not like it could not grow. It was just that... the conditions for the Sharingan's growth were... a little questionable.
"System, can my Sharingan grow without experiencing mental stimulation?"
It can grow through exchanges in the System Shop.
Hearing that, Yin Hao instantly breathed a sigh of relief. If mental stimulation had been necessary for it to evolve, then he would have been completely screwed! He could not afford anything in the System Shop right now, but that might not be the case in a few years.
For the time being, however, Yin Hao did not plan to reveal his Sharingan martial soul. The Blue Silver Emperor had already been exposed, so there was no need to reveal that he possessed Twin Martial Souls as well. After all, the tree that stood above the forest would be the first to be destroyed by the wind. Yin Hao understood that principle.
He had no background to speak of. If someone decided that if they could not have him, they would destroy him, then he would be in danger.
Still, hiding it was one thing; he could continue cultivating it. As for attaching soul rings too early and causing the Soul Ring Year Limit to be too low? Was that even a problem for someone with a System?
If the Soul Ring Year Limit was low, he could just "trade" for someone else's Soul Ring Year Limit. Even a ten-year soul ring could be stacked up to a hundred-thousand-year soul ring through trades alone.
The only thing he had to worry about was whether his body, which did not have a single soul bone, could withstand it. After all, had not the previous holders of Twin Martial Souls been burst to death by Soul Power? So it was not suitable to attach soul rings to the Sharingan too early.
The next morning, before dawn had even broken, Old Jack went out. He made several trips back and forth, sometimes carrying a few bottles of wine, sometimes several pounds of meat. Every time, he returned grumbling and cursing, then left again with something in hand, still grumbling and cursing.
It was not until the afternoon that he finally finished.
Old Jack grumbled, "Those greedy bastards. I'm only using their Work-Study Student quotas. They don't even need them."
When he saw Yin Hao there, Old Jack quickly stopped cursing and said to him.
"Xiao Hao, Grandpa has gotten you a Work-Study Student quota. Our village's quota can go to Little San. You two can attend school together, and you can look after each other."
Yin Hao smiled and nodded.
"Then I'll go tell Little San the news."
Old Jack paused before nodding.
Watching Yin Hao's departing back, Old Jack smiled with gratification. "That child is so considerate..."
In truth, aside from trading, Yin Hao had no interest whatsoever in going to Tang San's house. But he remembered that in the original story, Old Jack had been angered badly by Tang Hao when he went to discuss school enrollment. Yin Hao was afraid the old man might be angered into something serious, so he took the initiative to go in his place.
Holy Soul Village was not large, and before long, he arrived at the entrance of the blacksmith shop.
The constant sound of clang, clang, clang rang out from inside, along with Tang Hao's voice.
"Little San, exert force with your calves. Transfer that strength to your thighs, through your waist, back, and arms, then release it. That is a full-force strike..."
Yin Hao stepped forward and knocked on the door. A childish voice immediately came from inside.
"Who is it?"
"Little San, it's me, Yin Hao."
Another round of clanging came from within. Less than half a minute later, Tang San opened the door, his face flushed red and his entire body drenched in sweat.
"Hao Ge, do you need something?"
"I came to tell you about us enrolling in school three months from now..."
Before he could finish, a deep voice came from inside.
"Little San, let Xiao Hao come in. Don't stand at the door talking."
"Okay, Father. Hao Ge, come in and talk."
Yin Hao nodded, though he felt somewhat puzzled. Although he had often brought things to Tang San's family over the years, he had always handed them directly to Tang San. He rarely saw Tang Hao, and the number of words they had exchanged could be counted on one hand. This was the first time Tang Hao had ever taken the initiative to speak to him.
Tang San led Yin Hao inside. The room was quite warm, and a sizable flame still burned in the forging furnace nearby. Tang Hao sat at the only table in the room, staring blankly at Yin Hao, who had just entered.
"A... A Yin..."
The shoulder-length blue hair and handsome features made Tang Hao seem to see the A Yin of years ago. This only made him more certain of his earlier guess.
Tang Hao took two deep breaths and steadied himself before speaking softly.
"Your name is Yin Hao, right? Thank you for taking care of my Little San these past few years."
Yet I've never seen this guy show any actual gratitude... Yin Hao grumbled inwardly, though he still wore a smile.
"No need to be polite, Uncle Hao. It's nothing."
"Xiao Hao, tell Uncle, do you know who your biological parents are?"
Yin Hao gave Tang Hao a strange look. Tang San did the same. Neither of them understood why someone who normally barely spoke to them was suddenly paying so much attention to Yin Hao.
Still, Yin Hao honestly shook his head. He had no choice but to be honest. Though this man's character was not much to speak of, his strength was absolutely top-tier. If he went crazy and gave Yin Hao a hammer blow, Yin Hao's little body would not be able to take it.
"I've never seen my biological parents since the day I was born. Grandpa Jack found me and brought me home."
