But soon, catalyzed by the invisible power of the Space Grid and drawn together by the same-rule aura contained within the fragments themselves, the rate of aggregation gradually began to accelerate.
Extremely fine threads of energy began to form between the fragments, linking them together.
The light began to intertwine and merge. No longer chaotic, it gradually took on a unified yet deeper, more restrained, hazy gray chaos sheen.
A mysterious and profound change faintly emerged within these automatically gathering Status Fragments. It was the condensation of a rudimentary rule, the sublimation of a Status's essence, and the embryo of a Status Spiritual Material.
"It still needs some time."
Chen Fei estimated inwardly, then withdrew his gaze from the Space Grid and turned his attention back outside, vigilantly guarding the recovering Cao Feiyu and remaining alert to any disturbance in the surroundings.
"Junior Brother."
A relaxed voice, eased of its weariness, drew Chen Fei's attention back from his vigilance toward the outside.
He turned his head and saw that Cao Feiyu had opened her eyes at some point and was quietly looking at him. The longsword that had rested across her knees had already been sheathed and laid beside her.
Most of the pallor had faded from her face, restoring its former smooth luster, though a trace of fatigue from the fierce battle still lingered between her brows.
Though her aura no longer possessed the sharp, intimidating edge it had at her peak, it was steady and enduring. Clearly, her injuries were no longer a concern, and much of her depleted origin had recovered as well.
"Senior Sister, how are your injuries?" Chen Fei asked with concern.
"They are no longer serious." Cao Feiyu smiled
