-"Hey."
Jolted out of her memories by an elbow from Dawn Cicada, Yu Xunge looked at Fragrant Branch irritably. "What?"
Dawn Cicada did not need to answer, because the moment Yu Xunge finished speaking, she realized she had been teleported onto the Clock Dial Battlefield. Opposite her stood Zhuri, lightly tossing a dagger as she watched her.
"Do you need me to wait while you space out a little longer?" Zhuri asked considerately.
Wouldn't you get so mad you'd string me up and whip me? Yu Xunge hurriedly smiled, readied her longsword, and said to Zhuri, "Teacher, I'm ready."
Glowing clock hands lit up beside Zhuri's ear, illuminating the thin braid hanging behind it, as well as her gray-blue eyes.
"Give it everything you have," Zhuri said sternly.
Yu Xunge flung her longsword onto the Clock Dial. Golden Lightning and the white Flower Branch transformed into two daggers in her hands. "Teacher, you don't mind if I beat you with daggers, do you?"
Zhuri's expression softened, and she chuckled before instantly vanishing and blinking behind her apprentice. "You really know how to make someone angry."
Clang-!
Dagger met dagger. Thunder and the dagger that had turned into Magic Elements exploded at the same time. Both lost 1 HP, and Zhuri lost another 1 HP to Damage Reflection.
As long as it was a head-on fight where they could hurt each other, the current Yu Xunge feared no one!
Even with one in every five attacks triggering that strange clock beside Zhuri's ear, Yu Xunge still held the upper hand, because she had [Absurd Story], which could reflect damage.
"Back in Astralana, whenever I dreamed of beating you, I'd wake myself up laughing. I never thought this day would come so soon!"
"..."
"Sorry, Zhuri, I forgot. This day already came."
