Yu Xunge and Tulan huddled in the little boat, watching Star Sea and Mountains go at each other.
Tulan asked quietly, "Why don't we hide outside?"
Staying at the scene of the crime really wasn't like Yu Xunge.
Yu Xunge said, "This is the adventure Cat's Ideal wants." If upgrading [Cat's Ideal] required an adventure, she shouldn't avoid it. Besides, as the key to the quest, she probably couldn't leave the Tavern at all.
Her hand gently brushed over the faintly glowing Ship's Wheel, then over the Cat Heads on its six Rudder Shafts. Not long after leaving the Burial Ground, she had sensed the six First Mates following her back into the Ship's Wheel. Yu Xunge suddenly changed tack and said reflectively, "Actually, I've never been sure whether [Cat's Ideal] still suits me as it is now."
Tulan sat quietly beside her without saying anything. Yu Xunge didn't continue, but Tulan understood why she thought that.
[Furious Moon] and [Cat's Ideal] didn't like fighting each other simply because they wanted Yu Xunge's attention. Rather, like Di San and Feng Qie, they were naturally at odds.
One willingly walked into a cage and locked itself away; the other yearned for freedom.
Yu Xunge and [Furious Moon] were so well matched. She was like a second Furious Moon, belonging to no one, yet willingly walking into the cages of the world.
She had shut herself inside a cage called Zai Jiu, only to discover, as she looked through the window at the moon outside, that beyond Zai Jiu lay Star Sea...
Although Tulan hadn't witnessed Yu Xunge finding the Beaver Duke to upgrade [Furious Moon], she was certain that no one in this world could be better suited to [Furious Moon] than Yu Xunge.
That lousy lamp used to be so
