Background / History

Zhuri was educated at the Moonlight Wetland and later became one of its most celebrated and notorious alumni. The academy records her with 11 Godly Game championships across individual and team events, as well as titles including Strongest Witchcraft, Scholar, Battle Master, Rage Flame Controller, Law Despiser, Wailing Apprentice, Elf Traitor, and Soul Painter. Moonlight Wetland states it will bear only 20% of her “sins.” 788

Her teacher, Aihao, once sent Zhuri to kill the Chinu Queen for an SSS-rank skill. Zhuri obtained [Connected], but the skill linked her to Aihao’s curse and severely obstructed her progress toward Tian Huhaoqi. Zhuri later regretted losing her opportunity to become Tian Huhaoqi, while Aihao carried guilt for doubting her student and seeking an external solution. 836 837

During the Card Swap period, Zhuri worked as a treasure hunter and captured Yu Xunge, Mist Blade, and Fat Goose with the intention of selling them. Rather than simply dispose of them, she tested the cubs’ usefulness and resolve, then offered each a different path toward buying freedom. 764 765 766

Yu Xunge chose to remain near Zhuri and pursue her instruction. Zhuri first subjected her to brutal Arena survival training, teaching only three decisive techniques: two incapacitating moves and one lethal strike. After seeing that Yu Xunge’s Soul Fire remained resolute despite the experience, Zhuri accepted her as an apprentice, healed her wounds, gave her new clothes and a dagger, and began formally mentoring her. 767 768

Zhuri brought Yu Xunge to Delano and enrolled her at Moonlight Wetland, financing her living needs, training, lessons, and equipment while recording the costs as debt. Her instruction combined formal combat practice with exposure to taverns, Garbage Street tutors, noble districts, and dangerous situations meant to develop observation, adaptability, and judgment. 774 775 778 784

When Yu Xunge disappeared into the River of Time, Zhuri and Tian Huhaoqi spent a year tracking her location and another year finding her. Zhuri later continued to travel, train, and compete alongside her apprentice. 917 921

Appearance

Zhuri is an Elf with gray-blue eyes, long arms, gray-white hair, and a distinctly intimidating assassin-like presence. She commonly wears a narrow cape, black wolf-skin boots, and carries bladed weapons. 765 863 912

  • Often dresses in dark or black clothing; her Moonlight Wetland uniform color is associated with her evil God-Bestowed Talent. 789
  • Uses a narrow cape that makes noise in strong wind; she considers the effect part of an “assassin’s aura.” 912
  • Can completely alter her features, build, height, clothing, and weapons through disguise. 780
  • Has also used a concealment skill that causes nearby beings to overlook her presence. 776

Personality

Zhuri is forceful, ruthless, and intolerant of weakness or repeated explanations. Her worldview rejects conventional ideals of law and justice, and she frequently teaches through danger, pressure, and direct consequences rather than reassurance. 765 810

Despite this, she is perceptive about emotion and potential. She chose Yu Xunge not because the apprentice lacked hatred, but because Yu Xunge’s Soul Fire remained bright, complex, and uncorrupted after suffering in the Arena. Zhuri recognizes hatred, admiration, gratitude, affection, and resolve as emotions to be acknowledged rather than denied. 768 774

Her conduct differs sharply by context. Around strangers at Thief Bug Tavern, she is humorous, sociable, patient, and able to deflect invasive questions without open conflict. Around her apprentice, she is sarcastic, demanding, and prone to threats or mockery, though her actions consistently provide protection, education, resources, and opportunities. 775 778 784

Zhuri is deeply uncomfortable with overt sentimentality. She reacts with hostility to Yu Xunge’s Little Zhuri Sprite and insists that it is not truly her, yet she ultimately trusts Yu Xunge’s future to the apprentice’s own choices. 958 981

Abilities & Skills

God-Bestowed Talent: Destroy

Moonlight Wetland’s key information identifies Zhuri’s evil God-Bestowed Talent as Destroy. Its precise effects are not disclosed. 789

  • Her black Moonlight Wetland uniform marks her as a bearer of an evil God-Bestowed Talent. 789
  • She has firsthand experience with the social stigma attached to such Talents and deliberately exposed Yu Xunge to teachers from Garbage Street. 775 777

Assassin Combat

Zhuri is a high-level close-combat specialist who treats killing as an art. She favors lethal efficiency, combat intent, positioning, and decisive strikes over collecting excessive numbers of skills. 797 956

  • [Throat Slit · Zhuri] (SSS) — Slashes an enemy’s throat; consumes combat intent and has no cooldown while that intent remains unextinguished. 828
  • [Bone Removal · Zhuri] (SSS) — Removes vital bones to disable movement under the same combat-intent condition. 828
  • [Backstab · Zhuri] (SSS) — Delivers a fatal strike from behind; its effect depends on skill completion and combat intent. 828
  • [Spell Break · Zhuri] — The fourth Zhuri Skill taught to Yu Xunge; its detailed effect is not stated. 841
  • Her techniques can be trained from conventional forms into “Zhuri” forms, whose endpoint is SSS-rank. 797
  • She teaches that a weapon is not limited to conventional armaments; even teeth may be used to kill. 886

Weapon Mastery

Zhuri normally carries both a longsword and numerous daggers. Though daggers are her best discipline, she often uses her Ancient-grade longsword because its inherent Ancient Skill makes it valuable in battle. 765 868

  • Her daggers range from Epic to Legendary quality and are bound exclusively to her. 868
  • The daggers found during a Godly Game were all manifested at Zhuri’s current combat limit. 868
  • She can fight with a longsword, but opponents apparently had not forced her to draw her daggers before the documented game encounter. 868

Stealth and Disguise

Zhuri is capable of disguising both her identity and physical appearance, and can evade notice even in populated areas. 776 780

  • Alters physical features, build, height, attire, and weapons at once. 780
  • Can make nearby beings ignore her presence. 776
  • Secretly infiltrated Moonlight Wetland’s heavily defended boat house to leave Yu Xunge a notebook containing [Flash Step] training material. 816

Soul Fire Perception

Zhuri can observe Soul Fire, the manifestation of a being’s true nature and emotional complexity. This ability was central to her decision to accept Yu Xunge as an apprentice. 768 774

  • Yu Xunge’s Soul Fire appeared as a silver full moon surrounded by colored stars. 768
  • Zhuri recognized that Yu Xunge’s hatred targeted its instigator rather than the world itself. 768
  • She teaches that rich, complex emotions create more beautiful Soul Fire and should not be rejected. 774

Godly Game Record

Zhuri is an 11-time Godly Game champion and a major historical figure at Moonlight Wetland. 788

  • Her competitive legacy was strong enough that Moonlight Wetland’s championships declined after her and Tian Huhaoqi graduated. 794
  • She selected [Midnight Exile], [Unrepentant], and [Mysterious Fellow] for an individual match. 950
  • She agreed to participate in [Bet Everything] as Yu Xunge’s most important creature, despite being unable to guarantee victory. 895

Equipment / Items

  • Ancient-grade longsword — Carried for its inherent Ancient Skill despite Zhuri’s greater proficiency with daggers. 868
  • Bound daggers — Multiple Epic- and Legendary-grade daggers usable only by Zhuri. 868
  • Magical arrow — Given to Yu Xunge as a back-to-school gift for protection. 784
  • Combat notebooks — Zhuri provided Yu Xunge with close-combat notes, [Flash Step] practice material, and other skill resources. 790 816
  • Mechanical motorcycle — Used to transport Yu Xunge between school, home, and training locations. 795 833

Relationships

  • Yu Xunge — Apprentice. Zhuri initially captured and harshly tested her, then accepted her after observing her Soul Fire. Their bond is defined by demanding training, mutual trust, sarcasm, and Zhuri’s consistent material and personal support. 768 793 895
  • Aihao — Teacher. Aihao’s decision to send Zhuri after the Chinu Queen contributed to the curse-linked setback that derailed Zhuri’s path toward Tian Huhaoqi; both retain regret and tension over it. 836 837
  • Tian Huhaoqi — Fellow Moonlight Wetland champion, teacher, and traveling companion. She and Zhuri trained Yu Xunge, searched for her across the River of Time, and share a competitive, teasing dynamic. 794 917 921
  • Mist Blade — Yu Xunge’s friend and former captive. Zhuri refused to accept Mist Blade as an apprentice but housed her, arranged work, advanced tuition and living expenses, and allowed her to return to her Moon Fox family. 779 796
  • Fat Goose — One of the cubs Zhuri originally captured alongside Yu Xunge and Mist Blade. 764 766

Story Role / Major Arcs

Card Swap Capture and Apprenticeship

Delano and Moonlight Wetland

Godly Game Mentor

Zhuri’s legacy at Moonlight Wetland motivates Yu Xunge to pursue the Godly Games. She continues supplying advanced combat skills, exercises, and guidance while expecting her apprentice to build an independent fighting style rather than merely imitate her. 810 816 956

Reunion and Later Training

Zhuri later crosses the River of Time with Tian Huhaoqi to find Yu Xunge. The two resume traveling and training together, with Zhuri supporting Yu Xunge’s pursuit of Tian Huhaoqi while still struggling to express concern openly. 917 921 950
