Background / History

Yan Shao Zhe served as one of Shrek Academy’s senior administrators and Mu En’s eldest disciple. His devotion to Shrek’s prestige was unquestioned, though Mu En recognized that his disciple’s judgment was often distorted by ambition and opportunism 42 50.

When Dugu Yan returned to Shrek as a Titled Douluo, Yan Shao Zhe accused her of being an Evil Spirit Master and attempted to seize her, believing her rapid cultivation might reveal the location of immortal herbs. He was defeated and knocked unconscious in the confrontation, then argued that securing those herbs could heal Mu En, cure Ma Xiaotao’s evil fire, and help Shrek’s elders advance 38 42.

Mu En’s revelation that Mo Yan possessed Extreme Fire radically changed Yan Shao Zhe’s view of her. Having formerly regarded her as innately evil, he instead declared her Shrek’s prospective “light of hope” and devised a plan to recruit her through Dugu Luo 50. Yan Shao Zhe is intensely loyal to Shrek Academy and consistently frames his decisions around its future glory, resources, and political security. This loyalty makes him highly receptive to exceptional talent, particularly possessors of Ultimate Martial Souls, whom he sees as assets Shrek must obtain or retain 50 146 312.
