Explanations of Reiatsu Settings and Other Minor Issues

The book had reached this point in its updates, so I had compiled some of the questions everyone raised and would address them all here.

First, the most discussed topic was the issue of the "Reiatsu settings."

I knew the official material had provided the concept of "Reii," but the information available was simply too sparse.

Based on that material alone, I was unable to create a complete and internally consistent power system. That was a limitation in my own writing ability.

Reii also had some contradictions. For example, Kaien Shiba was ranked at Sixth-Class Reii, yet at the time, he was Jushiro Ukitake's Vice-Captain and practically the next Captain's successor.

This fundamentally conflicted with the idea that Vice-Captains had Fourth- to Fifth-Seat Reiatsu, while Captains needed Third Seat or above.

Some readers might say that Reii could be raised through training, but that led to another issue.

How would one train? What exactly would the training methods be? The original work never gave a specific method for increasing Reiatsu, and the gaps in Reiatsu between different Captains were practically worlds apart.

Shinigami Aizen and Head Captain Yamamoto—the Reiatsu of those two was almost on an entirely different level from the other Captains. Under the Reii system, how were they supposed to be classified?

Moreover, twenty ranks of Reii was simply too many. It would also create issues with pacing: leveling up too quickly would fracture the rhythm, while leveling up too slowly would make things feel cumbersome.

Furthermore, among the original Shinigami characters, many people's combat strength was open to question. Assigning them Reii ranks at will would inevitably spark power-scaling disputes, and as the author, I also had my own personal emotional biases.

It was entirely possible that a certain character's Reii would end up too high or too low, which would inevitably lead to unnecessary arguments.

After thinking it over repeatedly, I chose to establish a new system.

This system was integrated according to the needs of the later outline and truly could not be changed. If some readers absolutely could not accept it, then all I could do was apologize. (＞人＜;) I'm sorry.

The second issue was the name Isshin Shiba. I had not been rigorous enough on that point. At first, I thought it was merely a name and that any version would be fine as long as everyone knew who it referred to. That was indeed an oversight on my part, so I would change all of them to Isshin Shiba going forward. I hoped everyone could understand, and you were also welcome to point out mistakes~ Thanks? The third issue concerned the relationship between the nobles and the Gotei 13.

Everyone could actually refer to the Four Noble Clans Arc, which mentioned the basic operating structure of Soul Society.

To put it plainly, it was an order with the nobles at its pinnacle.

Therefore, although Head Captain Yamamoto was very powerful, he was still significantly constrained by the nobles. One could even say that their powers were balanced against each other.

Some of you might say that Captain-Commander could simply flip the table.

But that was not very likely. Once he flipped the table, everything Captain-Commander had created and protected would turn to nothing.

The Monk of Zero Division would not allow Captain-Commander to flip the table, and Captain-Commander's own personality also determined that he would not do so.

Therefore, only when both sides had their own concerns did this standoff between them hold meaning.
