Since schools were among the most numerous buildings in the city, bus stops were often named after school facilities, such as "Twelfth District—In Front of Takasaki University" or "Twenty-second District—In Front of Seina High School Swimming Pool."
Therefore, it was only natural for there to be a bus stop called "Seventh District—In Front of Tokiwadai Middle School Student Dormitory."
In other words, if one wanted to find a school or one of its facilities, all they needed was its name. They could take a bus straight there without knowing the exact address.
Although the last buses in Academy City were generally scheduled around dismissal time, some routes added temporary evening services to carry students to cram schools or summer classes, so transportation was not much of an issue.
