The next morning, Fang Li was awakened by a voice.
"Fang..."
"Fang Li..."
"Mr. Fang Li..."
"Mr. Fang Li!"
The somewhat anxious voice gradually restored the consciousness Fang Li had desperately submerged in the Sea of Death, awakening him from his sleep.
Fang Li slowly opened his eyes.
"Mr. Fang Li! You're finally awake!"
The one who entered Fang Li's field of vision as she said this was Alice.
Alice's small face hovered above him. As though she were checking his complexion, her eyes were filled with concern.
Looking at Alice like this, Fang Li had just been about to say something when he first let out a heavy sigh.
Only then did Fang Li realize that his body was already drenched in sweat, his face covered in hot vapor as though he had sweated profusely.
"Are you all right?" Alice studied Fang Li and cautiously said, "When I woke up, Mr. Fang Li seemed to be in a lot of pain. At first, I thought you were having a nightmare, but it didn't seem like one, so I woke you up."
It seemed Alice truly had sharp eyes. She had even noticed that Fang Li was not having a nightmare.
That was precisely why the worried Alice had awakened him, wasn't it?
"What's wrong? Is something hurting?"
Every word and action of Alice's was full of concern.
If he did not explain things clearly, Alice might very well overthink it, deciding that her coming to sleep with Fang Li had caused something to happen to his body, then quietly blaming herself for it.
"All right, don't worry."
Fang Li wiped the sweat from his forehead and spoke to the little princess worrying over him.
"I'm not physically unwell. I'm merely seeking a breakthrough for myself."
Hearing that, Alice blinked.
