After returning to the inn, Alice remained in low spirits, seemingly discouraged by her failure to achieve her goal.
"Megumin, Darkness, let go of me! I have to punish those hateful nobles, or I'd be letting down the name of the Goddess!"
"Yes, yes, I know, I know. Aqua, just calm down first."
"I'll donate to the Axies Cult when we get back, so Aqua, please stop causing trouble."
Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness were still tangled up together. More precisely, Megumin and Darkness were firmly holding on to Aqua while she struggled nonstop.
Fang Li paid no attention to those three normally noisy troublemakers and simply let them make a fuss while focusing on Alice.
"It's okay. This will be resolved sooner or later, so don't worry."
Though Fang Li's simple consolation was not particularly convincing, it seemed to brighten Alice's mood somewhat.
"Then I'll return to my room and think of a solution."
With that, Alice pulled herself together and returned to her room.
Fang Li watched Alice go back to her room without saying anything.

Fang Li, on the other hand, knew the details but had no way of explaining them clearly.
Alice is just too kind-hearted. And Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness aren't the sort who can calmly accept something like this.
So, if Fang Li directly revealed that Erlord had already entered peaceful negotiations with the Demon Lord's Army, it was hard to say what Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness would do, never mind Alice.
In other words...
Do I have to handle this myself?
