Background / History

Jeanne grew up as an ordinary village girl with three older siblings and a devout Catholic mother. At seventeen, she heard what she believed to be the Lord's sorrow over the prolonged war between France, England, and Burgundy, and resolved to bring the conflict to an end. 1325

She left her home, liberated Orléans, helped bring Prince Charles to Reims for his coronation as King of France, and became a French hero. Jeanne nevertheless regarded the lives she took in war as sins for which she would eventually be punished. 1325

Captured by her enemies, Jeanne was condemned as a witch and burned at the stake. She accepted her death without regret, believing that she had chosen her path and would return to the Lord. She died at nineteen. 1264 1325 1371

Later summoned as the Ruler of an abnormal Holy Grail War, Jeanne could not manifest conventionally. She sought Sylvia's consent to possess her body, both to enter the world and to gain the exceptional enhancement offered by Sylvia's constitution. 1235 1266

Appearance

When manifested independently through Sylvia's body, Jeanne takes on the form of a tall, graceful young woman with an unmistakably saintly presence. 1264 1385

  • Long golden hair, usually braided behind her. 1264
  • Sapphire-blue eyes and refined features. 1264
  • Wears clerical vestments with light armor in battle. 1265
  • Carries a Holy Banner: a flag mounted on a steel shaft with a spear-like tip. 1265
  • Her manifestation transforms Sylvia's violet hair into Jeanne's golden braid. 1385

Personality

Jeanne is sincere, direct, resolute, and deeply compassionate. Even as a Ruler expected to remain impartial, she prioritizes protecting lives and accepts immense personal burdens without hesitation. 1235 1370

Her faith is devout but not dogmatic. Having been condemned by religious authorities herself, she believes conviction should be upheld without becoming blind faith, and she respects gods and beliefs outside her own. 1534

Beneath her solemn public demeanor, Jeanne remains an ordinary young woman who values simple happiness. She becomes shy and easily flustered around Fang Li, enjoys everyday outings, and finds genuine fulfillment in the ordinary life she once gave up. 1329 1333

As a commander, she is serious, observant, and decisive. She identifies battlefield trends quickly, makes difficult strategic choices, and naturally assumes responsibility for allies under her protection. 1457 1786

Abilities & Skills

Revelation

Jeanne's primary Innate Skill is a form of divine intuition that grants information relevant to achieving a goal. 1387

  • Foresees imminent threats, including Sabrac's surprise attack and Black Catty's attempted escape. 1429 1453
  • Can guide allies toward locations or individuals central to an objective. 1713 1715
  • Predicts enemy attack trajectories and provides evasion or defense plans in battle. 2066
  • Can become more sensitive when confronting divine messengers such as Archangel Gabriel. 2066
  • Requires a clear objective to trigger reliably and does not provide guidance on every matter. 1786
  • Can be forcibly used to interfere with Gabriel's transmission and activation of sorcery. 2080

Ruler Privileges

As the Ruler of the Holy Grail War, Jeanne possesses investigative and enforcement powers unavailable to ordinary Servants. 1265 1321

  • Identifies a Servant's Class, true name, parameters, Class Skills, and Personal Skills. 1264
  • Detects Servants within roughly ten kilometers, including Assassins using Presence Concealment. 1321
  • Tracks Servants' general positions and determines whether they remain active in the war. 1321
  • Holds two Command Spells for each Servant and can use them to compel withdrawal or counter rule-breaking. 1265 1335
  • Transferred one Command Spell for each Black Faction Servant to their respective Masters while retaining one in reserve. 1335

Luminosite Eternelle

Luminosite Eternelle is Jeanne's A-rank defensive Noble Phantasm, activated through her Holy Banner. It converts her exceptional Magic Resistance into physical defense and manifests as a fortress-like barrier. 1356

  • Blocks powerful attacks while shielding Jeanne and nearby allies. 1356
  • Protected allies and the Greater Holy Grail from Bašmu's poisonous assault. 1369
  • Shielded Amakusa-Style Church forces from Kerisha's spatial debris barrage. 2011
  • Its defensive strength can exceed that of Sylvia's full power when Jeanne devotes herself entirely to defense. 1388
  • Consumes Mana; it cannot be deployed at full capacity when Sylvia's Star Pulse Energy is depleted. 1795

La Pucelle

La Pucelle is Jeanne's Ex-rank anti-unit Noble Phantasm, crystallized from her execution by burning at the stake. 1370

  • Activated through the sword she wears at her waist. 1370
  • Transforms Jeanne into the Crimson Lotus Flame, which burns away evil and purifies corruption. 1371 2069
  • Destroyed the poisoned Floating Garden and Bašmu while preventing the catastrophe from reaching the ground. 1371
  • Is self-destructive; its use costs Jeanne her life and may also endanger Sylvia due to their merged souls. 1388 2069
  • Jeanne promised Fang Li that she would not use it again. 1388 2069

Saint and Holy Shrouds

Jeanne's Innate Skill, Saint, recognizes her sainthood and grants one of several selectable blessings. She chose the ability to create Holy Shrouds. 1360

  • Crafts Holy Shrouds that heal injuries and ease pain over time. 1360
  • Uses Holy Shroud-crafting principles alongside Revelation to create or modify mystical equipment. 1769
  • Helped transform Fang Li's combat suit into the Sacred Garment through a fusion of scientific and mystical methods. 1769
  • Enhanced her Holy Shrouds with materials purchased in the Main God Space. 1393

Leadership

Jeanne's Leadership is one of her three Innate Skills and reflects her historical role as an army commander. 1786

  • Guides allied groups in battle and helps coordinate large-scale operations. 1431 1457
  • Boosts the strength of allied forces under her command. 1459
  • Assisted Fiore and Caules during the transfer of the Yggdmillennia Magic Crest Imprint. 1390
  • Makes her especially effective as a rear-line commander and support specialist rather than a frontline attacker. 1786

Shared Existence with Sylvia

Jeanne and Sylvia share a body, memories, sensations, equipment, and a fused soul, but retain distinct personalities and combat roles. 1386 1387

  • Jeanne can take control and transform Sylvia's appearance into her own. 1385
  • When Jeanne is active, Sylvia's Star Pulse Energy is converted into Mana for Noble Phantasms and Servant abilities. 1387 1392
  • Jeanne cannot use Sylvia's Star Pulse Generation career, title, or Omni ability. 1266 1387
  • Both can communicate mentally without external detection. 1534 1713
  • Shared sensations cause Jeanne to experience Sylvia's emotional and intimate experiences as her own. 1386 1407

Trivia

  • Jeanne's status as a Ruler originally prevented her from having a Master; becoming Fang Li's Servant is something she considers a wonderful opportunity. 1388
  • Her possession of Sylvia initially granted her access to Sylvia's equipment effects, but not Sylvia's Omni ability. 1266
  • The historical Jeanne is distinct from the ice-wielding “Jeanne” encountered in another world, who claimed descent from the saint. 709 1264
  • Despite her reputation as a saint, Jeanne insists that she has never considered herself one. 1325
