The sky was a boundless blue, clouds drifting and curling.
A fighter jet roared over the sea of clouds, leaving a long trail behind it.
"Monitored targets Ge Xiaolun and Liu Chuang clashed on Highland Street at around ten last night. A non-monitored target was also involved and has now been detained by the police."
After hearing the report over the Comms Channel, her expression remained unchanged beneath her helmet as she calmly requested landing clearance. "Qiangwei will land on the Juxia in ten minutes. Juxia, please respond!"
"Qiangwei! Qiangwei! Juxia received! Coordinates 35:69:28. The runway is ready!"
"Received!"
"The Deno 3 System reports that a strange spatial structure near Pluto in the Solar System has emitted a flashing signal."
"Microwave analysis suggests that a Great Worm Bridge terminal has been activated."
"And Emperor Lena of Lieyang Star, far away in the Shenhe Galaxy, has also sent word. She has activated part of Earth's Super Genes and implied that Earth may face an interstellar invasion!"
Listening to the reports from Deno 3, Du Kao's expression was exceedingly grave. His exchanges with his subordinates were equally terse, until Du Qiangwei entered the Command Room.
"Reporting! Qiangwei has returned to report for duty. Awaiting your orders, Commander!" Du Qiangwei's expression was solemn, her military posture impeccable.
Du Kao returned a brief salute and asked directly, "Do you know about the Sun of Light?"
"I do. That alien," Qiangwei answered crisply.
Du Kao turned and paced as he spoke. "Two days ago, she detected a Cosmic Civilization entering the Milky Way. Their intentions were hostile. The Invaders are known as the Taotie, so the Sun of Light activated Earth's Super Genes in preparation for the worst."
Then he turned to Du Qiangwei. "Go check on them. They're in constant trouble right now."
"What good would checking on them do?" Qiangwei asked with faint disdain.
"Whether it does any good or not, activating them ahead of time means history has already changed," Du Kao said. "Besides, one of the non-monitored targets is particularly special. His family has close ties with us and has provided us with considerable help."
"You mean this guy?" Du Qiangwei asked, pointing at Wei Zitong on the screen.
"Oh? You know each other?" Du Kao asked in return.
"We've had some contact. He's just an ignorant playboy," Du Qiangwei replied, the teasing in her tone unmistakable. "A playboy, a loser, and a thug. When the aliens come, what exactly can they do?"
"Talk. What exactly happened between you three? You managed to punch a hole in the ground?" A stern-faced police officer asked Wei Zitong, who sat rigidly across from him without moving. "And that wrecked car is yours, right?"
Wei Zitong glared, itching to hit someone. What wrecked car? That was a supercar he had spent several million on!
Ever since personally experiencing what it meant for disaster to come from one's mouth, Wei Zitong had begun rigorously practicing Silent Zen. So far, he had not said a single word. No matter how the police questioned him, he remained silent, terrified that one wrong word would trigger another string of disastrous consequences.
At that moment, Wei Zitong was struggling against the Void Engine System in the Dark Plane, trying to make it remove this defect of "disaster coming from one's mouth."
"Apologies. Due to insufficient system data, your Void Engine cannot be stabilized. You must explore a solution yourself." The system always gave him that answer, leaving Wei Zitong thoroughly irritated.
"What use is this damn Void Engine, then?" He was practically hopping mad. "Don't you know I don't even dare speak right now?"
"I don't know."
The system's icy response nearly made Wei Zitong pass out. After taking several deep breaths of the nonexistent air in the Dark Plane, he cautiously asked, "Then how can I restore the data?"
"I don't know." The system's answer remained ice-cold.
"Damn it!" Wei Zitong nearly coughed up blood. After calming himself down, he asked, "Can replenishing sufficient energy repair the damaged engine?"
"Theoretically, yes," the system answered. "But you need to replenish energy with a lower entropy value."
"What's entropy?" Only then did Wei Zitong notice this term the system had mentioned before.
"Entropy is a unit of measurement for the transition from order to randomness. The higher the entropy value, the stronger the randomness of the energy and the lower its usability. Conversely, the lower the entropy value, the stronger the orderliness of the energy and the higher its usability," the system answered.
"Damn it!" Wei Zitong felt as if he were listening to a heavenly scripture. He asked directly, "Then what kind of energy has the lowest entropy?"
"The purest energy," the system answered. "Pure Light Energy, pure Dark Energy, pure Void Energy. Oh, right—Void Energy is known on Earth as 'Vacuum Zero Point Energy.'"
"What the hell is all this?" Wei Zitong was on the verge of tears. At last, he understood the suffering of a poor student. He deeply regretted sleeping in class, playing on his phone, and even skipping school back then. Now, he was completely at a loss!
He knew that the Super Seminary universe was a world where technology reigned supreme. The more knowledgeable one was, the stronger one could become—provided, of course, that one had already become a Super Soldier. But how could he have expected to transmigrate into the world of Super Seminary? And to run into a whole assload of trouble the moment he arrived, without even a chance to cram at the last minute!
Coming back to himself blankly, Wei Zitong found the interrogating officer's face directly before him, spittle flying everywhere as his mouth moved up and down, saying something that Wei Zitong had not heard at all.
After adjusting his posture, Wei Zitong planned to resume his daydreaming, only for someone to pat him on the shoulder. Turning around, he found a man dressed like an agent from Men in Black. The man's lips curled slightly, carrying a faintly teasing smile.
"You're finally here," the police officer across from him said with what sounded like relief. Anyone would lose patience after talking for half a day to someone who reacted like a puppet.
"Leave him to us." The man dressed like a black-suited agent nodded with a smile.
Wei Zitong knew that this smug bastard was Jace. Not only did he know it, but the original owner of this body had known Jace as well. He could not help sighing inwardly. As expected of a scion of a great family—even as a playboy, his social circle was incredibly broad!
Since Jace had arrived, Du Qiangwei must have come too. He looked around and, sure enough, saw Du Qiangwei dealing with Ge Xiaolun's situation.
"No need to look. Qiangwei came too, but she obviously doesn't want to see you. She'd rather deal with that loser than meet you," Jace said with a mischievous grin as he removed his Sunglasses. "Long time no see, Young Master Wei!"
Wei Zitong ignored Jace's sleazy grin, rose directly to his feet, and headed for the door.
"Huh?" Being ignored so completely made Jace's expression stiffen. Fortunately, the police officer who had been questioning Wei Zitong kindly reminded him, "He can't speak!"
Remembering the embarrassing scene Wei Zitong had caused in the video, Jace immediately understood. He could not help but smile bitterly as he followed after Wei Zitong.
