Background
Du Qiangwei is Du Kao's daughter and was raised with military education and earlier gene development than most Super Seminary students. This experience gives her a substantial initial advantage over the newly recruited Super Soldiers, but also leaves her dismissive of their inexperience and overly reliant on individual strength 43 44.
During the academy's early assessments, she repeatedly uses harsh methods to test and pressure other students. Her hostility, especially toward male students, makes her feared across the dormitories, while her own confidence is shaken when Wei Zitong prevents her from calculating wormholes and when Area 9 defeats her in spatial combat 8 35 42 43.
Appearance
Du Qiangwei is a striking young woman with long, straight red-brown hair and a delicate face. Her usual cool, dominant bearing contrasts sharply with the softer presentation she adopts after opening up emotionally 366.
- Often carries herself with a cold, aloof expression.
- Wore a light-blue pleated jumpsuit skirt with pink high-heeled sandals during an outing with Wei Zitong 366.
- Her alternate manifestation, Black Qiangwei, has ink-black skin and snow-white hair while retaining Du Qiangwei's outline 56.
Personality
Early in the story, Qiangwei is fiercely competitive, strong-willed, and quick to react with contempt or force when challenged. She considers herself a warrior and struggles to treat less-developed classmates as equals, often calling them weak or useless 35 44.
Her time in Area 9 exposes the cost of that mindset. After repeated failures against an opponent with superior wormhole control, she is forced to confront her fear of weakness and her obsession with becoming stronger 42 56. Once she overcomes Black Qiangwei and admits her feelings for Wei Zitong, she becomes notably warmer toward her peers, participates more openly in team planning, and begins to lead through coordination rather than intimidation 56 55.
She retains a direct, sharp-tongued manner even after this change. In battle, she is observant, decisive, and willing to take responsibility for difficult calls.
Abilities & Skills
Micro Wormhole Transport Technology
Qiangwei manipulates wormholes for movement, evasion, weapon storage, rescue, and battlefield positioning.
- Teleports herself across short and long distances.
- Uses wormholes to reposition allies, including rescuing Qilin from Lena's attacks 62.
- Can remove weapons from opponents by transporting them away, as she does to Wuji Yi's sword 43.
- Deploys spatial ripples to redirect attacks, including Liu Chuang's axe 56.
- Cannot use her wormhole calculations when the surrounding spatial medium is altered or calculation is prohibited 35 43.
Spatial Perception and Calculation
Qiangwei can read subtle spatial fluctuations and calculate wormholes even in heavily distorted environments after her super-gene breakthrough.
- Developed a plan for Area 9 in which Wei Zitong destabilized nearby space while she monitored fluctuations for the hidden enemy 43.
- Her calculations initially fail against Area 9's chaotic spatial conditions, leading to severe injuries and a personal crisis 42.
- Later becomes capable of calculating wormholes amid that chaos, marking her progression toward third-generation capability 43.
- Erases the Juxia command center's coordinates in the Main Material Plane and activates Stealth Mode to foil demon snipers 161.
Spatial Weapon Deployment
Qiangwei commonly attacks through wormhole-delivered throwing knives and other stored weapons.
- Can launch dozens or hundreds of throwing knives in rapid succession 35.
- Sends knives through wormholes to strike from unexpected angles 18.
- Can switch to direct projectile attacks when wormhole routes are blocked 35.
- Uses a Flame Sword against Third Generation Demon Kaza, wounding him before Qilin finishes the engagement with a Godslayer No. 1 round 239.
Tactical Command and Support
Qiangwei develops into one of Team 2's principal tacticians, particularly in environments where spatial control dictates the battle.
- Coordinates retreats and rescues when Liu Chuang breaks free from a Spatial Dead Loop 55.
- Identifies Ge Xiaolun's Silence as a possible answer to an unseen enemy and directs him to use it 55.
- Recognizes that ordinary defensive abilities are unreliable in Area 9's shifting space and adjusts team tactics accordingly 55.
- Is considered especially compatible with conventional military forces because she can engage high-end enemies while opening portals for firepower units and reinforcements 237.
Wormhole Research
Beyond combat use, Qiangwei studies the theory and construction of advanced wormhole models.
- Works on wormhole-transport theory during Super Seminary training 27.
- Calculates parameters for a stealth project and seeks access to Wei Zitong's Qiankun for final model verification 278.
- Returns from the Black Hole Creature front to continue improving her wormhole model 288.
- Begins researching Fourth Dimensional Space Shuttle technology after believing Wei Zitong may be lost in the Black Domain 299.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Throwing knives stored and deployed through wormholes 18 35.
- Flame Sword used against Kaza 239.
- Dark Alloy Armor during Xiong Bing Lian operations 124.
- A notebook containing foundational wormhole theory, apparently delivered by a mysterious silver-haired figure resembling Wei Zitong 273.
Relationships
- Du Kao — Her father, a general who regards her capture by Morgana's forces as both a military emergency and a father's nightmare 124.
- Wei Zitong — Initially a frequent rival and target of her hostility; he rescues her in Area 9 and helps her overcome Black Qiangwei. Qiangwei openly confesses that she likes him 42 56.
- Ge Xiaolun — Classmate with longstanding unrequited feelings for her. She eventually treats him more warmly as a teammate, though his attachment later fades into concern for her well-being 55 278.
- Qilin — Close friend, roommate, and trusted combat partner. They coordinate wormhole-assisted escapes and later share their worry over Wei Zitong's Black Domain mission 62 292.
- Lena — Fellow Super Soldier and romantic rival for Wei Zitong. Lena objects immediately when Qiangwei confesses, while Qiangwei insists they can compete fairly 56.
- Jace — Instructor who harshly criticizes her individualism after she fails to clear her assessment despite the other students succeeding 44.
- Morgana / Liang Bing — An adversary who seeks to keep Qiangwei by her side and attempts to manipulate her emotionally 209.
- Black Qiangwei — A dark alternate self born from Qiangwei's anger, desire for power, and emotional fixation; she dissipates after Qiangwei relinquishes those obsessions 56.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Super Seminary assessments
Qiangwei serves as an early measuring stick for the newly recruited students. She overwhelms groups of male students through wormhole movement, disarms Wuji Yi, and uses spatial attacks to demonstrate the vast gap between her early development and theirs 35 43.
Her confidence is checked when Wei Zitong forbids wormhole calculation, leaving her unable to escape Cheng Yaowen's Heart of Earth restraint. Ryze and Jace later reprimand her for judging comrades by military-family standards and failing to develop team consciousness 35 44.
Area 9 and Black Qiangwei
Qiangwei enters Area 9 alone and suffers a crushing defeat against an enemy whose wormhole control surpasses hers. She is shot repeatedly, including in the head and arm, and must be carried out by Wei Zitong for recovery 42.
When Team 2 returns to Area 9, Ge Xiaolun's misdirected Silence freezes Qiangwei and gives rise to Black Qiangwei. The alternate self feeds on Qiangwei's rage and obsession with power. Wei Zitong speaks to her through the virtual system, enabling Qiangwei to calm herself, confess her feelings, and dissolve Black Qiangwei 56.
Rescue from A San
Demons capture Qiangwei, prompting Du Kao to order Xiong Bing Lian to recover her before she can fall into Morgana's hands. Injured and stranded in the Hundred Thousand Mountains, Qiangwei attempts to escape while Yan fights A San 124.
Ge Xiaolun finds and carries her but becomes lost; A San recaptures her before Wei Zitong uses invisibility and teleportation to remove her from the demon's shoulder. The team forces A San to retreat 124.
South China Sea Fleet defense
During the demon assault on the Juxia, Qiangwei reacts to wormhole sniper tactics by pulling Du Kao aside before a shot can kill him. She subsequently removes the command center's spatial coordinates and activates Stealth Mode, denying the demons a target 161.
Border campaign
Qiangwei provides rapid strategic support to conventional forces. She is identified as the Xiong Bing Lian member best suited to combine high-end combat, portal deployment, and coordination with military firepower 237.
When Third Generation Demon Kaza attacks her during the Demon Tide, she evades through spatial movement, wounds him with her Flame Sword, and captures and kills him after Qilin's sniper shot forces his retreat 239.
Galactic Alliance era
As a First Generation God, Qiangwei continues advancing wormhole theory and serves at the Galactic Alliance Headquarters. She remains drawn to greater strength and battle, particularly after witnessing Wei Zitong's methods against Black Hole Creatures 288 292.
When Wei Zitong enters the Black Domain, she openly admits to Qilin that she is worried for him. After reports suggest he may be lost, she devotes herself to Fourth Dimensional Space Shuttle research; his eventual return leaves her overwhelmed enough to cry in private 292 299 301.
Notable Quotes
“I like you!” 56
“We can compete fairly!” 56
“True Super Soldiers have both physical strength and mental prowess.” 239
Trivia
- Qiangwei's Area 9 scenario becomes more difficult the more she clings to her obsession with power, because Black Qiangwei grows alongside that obsession 56.
- Her early physical-training performance is comparatively modest because her gene model favors spatial control rather than close-quarters combat 27.
- She is one of the few Xiong Bing Lian members able to offer near-immediate front-line reinforcement once coordinates are established 237.
