"Then I'll go over there."
Leaving those words behind, Kakashi went off with the Anbu Ninja, carrying all kinds of doubts.
"Ah, got it. I'll go see Hirohiko once I'm done here."
Chiba called out to Kakashi's retreating back, letting him know.
Hearing that, Kakashi did not respond. He merely waved a hand, leaving behind a rather dashing silhouette as he followed the Anbu Ninja and disappeared somewhere.
Seriously...
They finally came. If they'd been any later, I would've finished all this work and had no idea what to say to Kakashi. We'd just be staring at each other, and it would've been unbearably awkward.
Watching Kakashi disappear, Chiba let out a long breath, though he could not help feeling rather resentful toward Minato Namikaze.
Now that the plan had been finalized and Minato Namikaze had agreed to let Kakashi remain with the Ninja Engineering Corps for seven days, the notice from Minato Namikaze's Anbu Ninja would arrive soon enough. This time, the Anbu had surely come to make Kakashi stay.
That also relieved Chiba. At the very least, Minato Namikaze could not possibly go back on his word now. The matter had already been settled.
What frustrated him, however, was that the Anbu Ninja had arrived a little too late. Had they come any later and he finished what he had on hand, things would probably have become awkward.
After all, he intended to pretend he had forgotten to tell Kakashi that he was staying. If the Anbu Ninja arrived any later, he would have to face Kakashi without being able to use sorting supplies as an excuse for having "been too busy to remember."
Once Kakashi finished reading the plan, he would probably lay everything out, and Chiba would have no choice but to tell him the news.
