Background / History

The Sea Race operates throughout the eastern seas, with individual members ranging from ordinary sea fish to powerful Fourth-Order Great Demons and the Fifth-Order Venerable One. Its members can use aquatic spells, formations, talismans, controlled fish swarms, and human collaborators to expand their influence. Mutated beasts possessing divine-beast bloodlines are regarded as notably stronger than ordinary demons of the same rank. 300 312

Before its open invasion of the Compassion Sea, the Sea Race weakened human cultivator forces through coordinated assassinations and ambushes. Several Buddhist cultivators were attacked, including Pure Bottle Chan Shi, who was killed by the Three-Plumed Qing Luan, while Ying Wu Chan Shi was injured by two Great Demons disguised as heretical cultivators. 304

The Sea Race used traitors to infiltrate human territory, collect Yang-Preserving Stones and malevolent qi, and sabotage sect defenses. The Illuminating Void Sect, the Wang family, and the Fan family defected to its side; the Illuminating Void Sect's defection was particularly damaging because it involved multiple Nascent Soul True Lords. 285 300 312

During the ensuing Compassion Sea war, the Sea Race exploited the rising Spiritual Qi Tide, which produced an abundance of Golden Core sea fish and gave its vastly larger population a military advantage. It gathered fish swarms for sieges, blocked communications between human sects, and used giant sea beasts to pressure multiple fronts. 301 304

Early Encounters and Ruin Operations

Sea Race forces first menace the Subduing Sea Ship through ice fish and a thirty-zhang aquatic entity whose icy divine sense repels Xiao Chen's probe. 189

After the Wu Mausoleum closes, a Sea Race Great Demon attacks and removes the spirit ships belonging to multiple factions, leaving cultivators stranded at sea. The Sea Race subsequently seeks cultivators who entered the ruins for sacrifice following Prince Huang Er's death. 269 270

Compassion Sea Invasion

The Sea Race launches a coordinated campaign against the Compassion Sea's human sects. It attacks Buddhist forces, uses giant sea beasts and fog to isolate sects, and employs traitors to undermine the Ink Barrier Sect and threaten the Heavenly Dipper Sect. 275 300 304

Its strategic advantage stems from the Spiritual Qi Tide and the resulting abundance of sea fish, while the Human Race is disadvantaged by its smaller population and fragmented defenses. 304

Western Front Defeat

Under Jin Luan's command, the Sea Race besieges the Ink Barrier Sect. The arrival of the Heavenly Dipper Sect and Xiao Chen reverses the situation. 317

Xiao Chen uses the Nine Dragons Diagram to suppress Jin Luan, Yun Qing, and Yuan Zhanhui. Jin Luan sacrifices herself to aid Yun Qing's escape, but Xiao Chen ultimately kills Yun Qing; Mirror Reflection True Monarch abandons the Sea Race and flees. 319

Shallow Sky Sea Formation Campaign

At Shallow Sky Sea, the Sea Race uses a network of recently built Fourth-tier formations to consume the Human Race's time. The human forces eventually identify the delay strategy and reach the Sea Race's Linked Grand Array. 367 368

Hai Hong attempts to divide the Human Race with a false peace proposal, then leads eleven Fourth-Order Great Demons in an ambush within the formation. The Human Race breaks out, destroys the Seven-Star Flowing Light Sea Bream, and later collapses the Linked Grand Array by destroying its core foundations. 369 371 373 376

During the retreat, Sea Race demons display poor cohesion: multiple Great Demons flee independently, while Hai Hong's cloning ability briefly restores their battlefield position. 376 377

Assault on Universal Salvation Temple

The Sea Race mounts an all-out attack on Universal Salvation Temple, aiming to destroy its core array foundations. The Nautilus breaches restrictions with explosive bubbles, while the Venerable One uses Abyssal Trap to threaten the island. 388

Universal Salvation Temple counters with the Nine-Nine Demon Subduing Array, the Sea Suppressing Array, and the power left by the Bright King. The battle destroys key array foundations and costs the Human Race Purified Nature Zen Master's life, but Xiao Chen later captures five fleeing Sea Race Great Demons. 388 390
