The bald leader still wore a wild grin, but a small hole had appeared between his brows. The bullet had pierced through the back of his head, spraying a mixture of blood and brain matter!
The bullet had brought not only penetrating force, but tremendous momentum. The bald leader died in an instant, without even having time to show fear. As the bloody mixture splattered onto the ground, his corpse toppled with it.
"Bang!~" His heavy body slammed solidly onto the ground, his gaudy yellow-and-white shirt stained by filth.
Busujima Saeko and the others cautiously observed their surroundings before climbing out of the school bus one by one.
They looked toward Kurumi. The smile curling at her lips made her seem somewhat unhinged, like a fallen dark elf! Her right hand still held the hilt of her blade, while her outstretched left hand held an old-fashioned revolver!
Wasn't that the one Komuro Takashi had dropped earlier?! Kurumi had actually picked it up without anyone noticing! One chamber on the cylinder was empty, and the shell casing beside her black round-toed boots showed that she had done it all.
A wisp of white smoke rose from the overheated barrel. Seeing everyone looking at her, Kurumi even spun the gun a few times as if showing off.
She blew gently across her cherry lips, dispersing the white smoke completely, then casually tossed the gun to Komuro Takashi.
Komuro Takashi clumsily caught the revolver. Seeing that it could penetrate a man's skull from such a distance, he understood that even though it was an old gun, the power of a revolver was not to be underestimated.
"Heehee, so? Aren't I amazing?" Kurumi became that mischievous girl again, leaving Komuro Takashi and the others unsure of what to say. Only Busujima Saeko smiled.
"You weren't hurt, were you? Let Teacher Marikawa examine you." Though she felt Kurumi could not possibly be injured, they had clearly heard plenty of gunfire from inside the bus earlier. Even Busujima Saeko had looked grim at the time.
At the very least... she was not confident she could take out that group without suffering even the slightest injury. It would not even have been surprising if she had died midway through!
Watching Kurumi deal with them so easily, she clearly realized for the first time that there was still quite a considerable gap between them.
"I really don't know how she trained. She's more of a monster than a monster." Recalling Takagi Saya's assessment, it seemed that Kurumi really was more monstrous than a monster!
The only thing she could not understand was that Kurumi's fighting style was far too varied. She could not make out any discernible pattern in it.
But no matter what, Kurumi could always kill her enemies with ease. Even Busujima Saeko, the national kendo tournament champion, admired her deeply. A strong person like that was someone she should learn from!
Moreover, the two of them had displayed certain indescribable tendencies in battle, allowing Busujima Saeko's once-confused heart to find direction again.
Kurumi did not answer. She merely smiled, then turned to look at the night sky. The moon had been up for some time, yet not a single Dead Body had appeared near them despite all the commotion from the battle. That was a little unscientific, wasn't it?
"Could that group of punks have cleared out this entire area?" She recalled the Dead Bodies the school bus had continuously plowed through earlier... Their density had clearly been high. This was not normal!
Suppressing the unease in her heart, she made sure her expression remained flawless. "Let's go. We don't have any transportation now, so we'll have to walk. Hopefully, we can cross the bridge."
After quickly gathering their things, the group continued toward the bridge. Fortunately, they were already very close. It probably would not take them long to arrive.
About half an hour later, they reached the bridge. They had encountered no real obstacles along the way, and the few scattered Dead Bodies had all been dispatched by Kurumi with a single slash.
There were so many abandoned vehicles. There was no way this few infected people could have turned into Dead Bodies!
Where had things gone wrong?...
"Oh my, it seems driving here would have been pointless too. We can't get across at all."
One side of the entire bridge was completely blocked. Because of the poor lighting, they could only vaguely make out what looked like a small mountain of piled-up vehicles in the distance.
"This probably isn't just a traffic accident... What kind of accident could create a scene like this?" Takagi Saya was somewhat depressed. Since the afternoon, they had done nothing but run and run. Not only was her body exhausted, but her mind could no longer focus as well... She wanted to rest for a while.
"Seriously, why haven't Dad and Mom sent anyone to find me? Otherwise, we could have gotten through easily... Could they have run into danger too?" Takagi Saya quietly complained and speculated.
As someone like a pampered young lady, when had she ever suffered like this? But the Dead Bodies on the bridge were slowly closing in on them...
Holding the Steel Katana in her hand, Kurumi noticed that although the blade had acquired a few chips when it had been used to pierce steel plates earlier, it did not matter much. In any case, it was just a katana with no attributes that cost seven Reincarnation Points. Back then, she probably would not even have wanted to spare it a glance.
Since she was the only one left, it would not be bad to treat this like a single-player game... Hmm, a real-life apocalypse OL. Other than the girls having absurdly good figures and looks far above average, there did not seem to be much else to it...
"Realistic setting, bloody visuals, adults only..." Kurumi's thoughts became increasingly ridiculous. Seeing the Dead Bodies draw closer and closer, she instinctively spun the katana in her hand and slashed at one...
The silver moonlight reflected off the blade flashed across Kurumi's eyes, bringing her back to her senses in an instant. She finally saw the situation clearly: the Dead Bodies had surrounded her! Busujima Saeko and the others could only look after themselves... There were suddenly so many of these things.
"If you're playing a game, you should level up your attributes first, then get weapons and equipment..." She looked at the grayish-white, disgusting faces of the Dead Bodies as though they were adorable little things. Her cheeks flushed slightly as she found herself unable to suppress the agitation in her heart!
This was the normal density of Dead Bodies. Finally at ease, she thought about apocalypse OL as the katana in her hand moved as naturally as an extension of her arm. The more she used it, the smoother it became. At first, fighting in this body had been somewhat inconvenient.
After all, male and female bodies were built differently. Mo Xiao, whose soul now inhabited Kurumi, could not say she had completely adapted yet, but she was much better than before. The training in the Main God Space was no joke!
Those movements, those techniques, that subtle control of force—all of it had already been deeply etched into her soul. With long, continuous combat, she would always find that feeling which could only be understood, never explained.
"This body is at the level of an ordinary human... but it can still be improved!"
With slight movements of her body, she repeatedly evaded the attacks of the Dead Bodies. Like poisonous fangs, the tip of her blade bit into her enemies and released venom with every sweep!
The blade had already shifted from silver to blackish-red. Under the moonlight, it no longer possessed any shine, instead carrying a bloodthirsty air.
This time, her limited space for movement also caused the white school uniform that had previously been free of even a trace of blood to be splashed with filth. Every swing could fling the blood from the blade, but before it could regain its gleam, it would be stained anew, clad once more in a crimson garment...
Layer upon layer of bloody filth accumulated. Just as Kurumi was about to kill all the Dead Bodies in front of her, the Main God's notification sounded.
"Ding~"

"Screech!----"
The katana in her hand cleaved the final Dead Body before her directly in two, and only then did she begin rapidly increasing her attributes...
