The fierce-looking man's face was filled with concern, though it looked utterly out of place on him.

Behind him, the pale-faced woman in tattered clothes that exposed large swaths of skin raised her head to look at the fierce man.

"Brother Mu, it was all my fault that I dragged you into this..."

The man's face immediately darkened. "What are you saying? We're almost out already, aren't we? So what if a dozen or so servants died? What's there to be sad about?"

His words made the servants following not far behind lower their heads. They had risked their lives for their master, only to receive such an indifferent complaint in return.

Anyone who had survived a brush with death would have felt awful.

The woman clearly noticed this. "Brother Mu, that's not right. I, Shang Xiaoxiao, will remember everyone's efforts! Once we return to the clan and successfully treat our ancestor, everyone here will be great contributors!"

Only after Shang Xiaoxiao said this did the remaining dozen or so servants lift their heads, their expressions improving considerably.

The fierce man wore an awkward smile and loudly apologized. Naturally, the servants did not dare criticize him too harshly.

The group continued onward.
