The sudden flash of cold light slashed toward the table. The seemingly sturdy wooden table was no match for the sharp blade. With a slight tilt, the curved sword easily split it in two. Its speed barely slowed as it swept toward Kurumi's abdomen!
"I have a question."
Kurumi looked up at the black-haired woman wielding the blade. Soul power fixed the edge about three inches before her, leaving the curved sword utterly unable to move.
The black-haired woman decisively abandoned the curved sword and leapt to the other side of the room in a few quick bounds.
Kurumi took the curved sword suspended in midair. Its blade was sharp, but that was all.
"Why didn't you try cutting my throat? That would have been more efficient. If you'd struck ruthlessly enough, that little girl over there would already be dead."
"Your Excellency is quite amusing, but..."
Before the black-haired woman could finish, she turned into a cheetah once more. A curved sword appeared in her right hand from somewhere unknown as she continued her assault on Kurumi!
She moved like a phantom. Even Emilia could not make out her motions, yet Kurumi remained unmoved, sitting quietly in her chair.
Clang!
Blade met blade, sending sparks flying.
The woman's movements grew faster and faster. She even began circling the entire wooden house, searching for an opening in Kurumi's defenses.
Kurumi slowly rose to her feet. "If you break someone else's things, you need to compensate them. Even half of the Island of the Gods that Kanon-chan destroyed was later compensated for with materials by Pan-Continental Heavy Industries. The small artificial island Mo Xiao destroyed was likewise being rebuilt."
"Even if this is a place that deals in stolen goods, breaking other people's things is still rather improper, isn't it?"
"Hmph!"
