Grandpa Rom, with his towering build, easily spotted the three little thugs behind Natsuki Subaru, as well as the finely dressed noble girl behind them.
"First, tell me about your business. I know quite a bit about this part of the royal capital."
"Really?" Natsuki Subaru's eyes lit up. Comparing Grandpa Rom to the thugs beside him, he was practically an underworld boss.
How could underlings know more than the boss? If he had not tricked Grandpa Rom with that "magic device" called a phone, he would have gone straight to the owner of this den for selling stolen goods.
Seeing that Natsuki Subaru did not speak, Grandpa Rom glanced behind him again. "Not convenient to discuss here? Come with me."
Natsuki Subaru nodded. "You three, don't even think about running. Come along!"
"Yes, yes, yes! We definitely won't run, definitely won't!" The short one and the fat one nodded frantically, as though they wished they could rip out their hearts to prove it to Natsuki Subaru. Clearly, they were deeply afraid of Grandpa Rom.
"Hey! Did this young lady say you could leave?!" The noble girl holding an apple stamped her foot, wanting nothing more than to chase after them.
But before long, the group vanished into the alley.
Dark and damp.
In another alley, garbage piled against the walls gave off a rotten stench. Under normal circumstances, no one would ever come here.
"Now, can you tell me what this is about?"
"Hehe." Natsuki Subaru rubbed his hands together. "Grandpa Rom, do you know any currency dealers in the royal capital?"
"Currency dealers?" Grandpa Rom's long white brows furrowed inward. "If you want to exchange the silver and gold coins in your hands for Saint Gold Coins, they might cheat you out of a hefty 'handling fee.'"
