"Abandon the wounded?"
Hearing those words, Hachi stopped and looked at Arlong.
Other than Nami and Moo, everyone in the Arlong Pirates was part of the Fish-Man Race. Fish-Men were divided into different species, and many gathered according to their kind. Some Fish-Men even ate one another, using the excuse that since they were not the same species, eating them did not count as cannibalism.
But the Fish-Men of the Arlong Pirates had long become like a family.
They had come to the East China Sea together because they had endured the pain inflicted by humans and because they believed in Arlong's ideals.
Although Arlong was extremely cruel to humans, he valued his fellow Fish-Men greatly and treated them as his own family.
His dream was to have Fish-Men rule the world.
Yet he actually intended to abandon other Fish-Men.
Hachi and the Fish-Man soldiers could hardly believe it. Arlong nodded and said, "If we take them with us, it'll consume too much strength, and we'll be far too slow."
Dragging along the injured Fish-Men would slow them down. With more than ten kilometers left to go, the rest of them could reach their destination in less than an hour if they picked up the pace.
"But..."
Hachi did not want this outcome.
The Fish-Man whose bones Xia Qiu had broken in the wreck of the Spaburi spoke up. "Leave me behind, Boss Arlong."
Hearing that made Arlong even more reluctant, but he still said, "We'll get close to the seabed and put you down. You're injured, but you can still move to some extent. If we split up, you might have a better chance of surviving."
After saying that, Arlong turned his back and waved his hand. "Let's go."
The Fish-Men moved on together, leaving the two injured Fish-Men
