Xia Qiu helped Robin return to Baroque Works, then killed Crocodile and fought Marines as Robin tried to escape Alabasta and its pursuit. While Robin awaited a submarine on the island, a powerful underwater attacker ambushed Xia Qiu, who led the fight toward her.

• Robin built a mud house and offered to teach Xia Qiu about the world in exchange for his help bringing her a cargo ship.
• Xia Qiu stole cargo ships for Robin, grew legs after eating F crocodiles, and agreed to accompany her back to Baroque Works.
• Robin returned to Crocodile, who reinstated her and tasked her with rebuilding Baroque Works, while Xia Qiu realized her return could bring him close to Crocodile.
• Xia Qiu killed Crocodile when he threatened Robin, and Robin planned to impersonate him and take control of Baroque Works.
• Robin and Xia Qiu fought Baroque Works agents and Marines after Crocodile’s death, while Robin escaped with Xia Qiu’s help and his bounty was set at forty million.
• Robin abandoned her effort to lead Baroque Works and waited for a submarine while Marines searched Alabasta and Sabo and Koala arrived to find her.

Xia Qiu sent Robin to join the Revolutionary Army, expanded Baroque Works through a casino and an intelligence network, and killed Vice Admiral Onigumo to gain Haki. After capturing Lucci, he drew CP9 into a trap and took Kaku and Kalifa prisoner, then headed underwater to intercept the Marines.

• Xia Qiu persuaded Robin to join the Revolutionary Army, arranged future contact with Sabo and Koala, and parted from her before making Zala Baroque Works’ vice president.
• Zala negotiated a casino deal with Alabasta, while Xia Qiu built up Baroque Works and recruited Vivi to run a secret intelligence network.
• Xia Qiu pursued Vice Admiral Onigumo at sea, sank his warship, and killed him, then awakened Observation Haki and learned to use Armament Haki.
• Xia Qiu trained his Haki and arranged for Cecilia to help Vivi improve, while Baroque Works sought Seastone equipment and expanded its plans.
• Xia Qiu captured Lucci and offered to reveal the location of Pluton’s blueprints in exchange for the Six Powers and Life Return, but Lucci refused and attacked Zala.
• Xia Qiu revealed he had used Lucci to lure CP9 into a trap, killed Bruno, and helped Vivi capture Kaku alive so he could learn the Six Powers.
• Cecilia and Zala defeated Kalifa and took her to the submarine, while Xia Qiu ordered the others toward Island Five and dove to intercept the approaching Marine warship.

Xia Qiu secured Drum Kingdom for Zala, drew Ace into his service after defeating Blackbeard, and revealed his ambitions to his followers. The arc left Luffy on Sakura Kingdom as Ace went to meet him, while a mysterious visitor confronted Vivi in Alabasta.

• Xia Qiu forced Lucci, Kaku, and Kalifa to teach him the Six Powers, then arranged for Zala to take control of Drum Kingdom and sent her there with guards, doctors, and supplies.
• Zala defeated Dalton’s fighters, won the villagers’ support by showing restraint, and took the throne, later renaming Drum Kingdom the Sakura Kingdom and defeating Wapol when he returned.
• Marcel escaped Buggy’s crew with help from Luffy and Zoro, reunited with his family, and joined the Straw Hat Pirates as their navigator.
• Ace followed information about Blackbeard to Mock Town with Hachi and Mr. Christmas, where he challenged Blackbeard while Baroque Works agents fought the rest of the crew.
• Xia Qiu defeated Blackbeard and recruited Ace for four years after Ace secured Nami and Hachi’s release, then helped his subordinates defeat the remaining Blackbeard Pirates.
• Xia Qiu identified himself as Mr.0 to his followers, introduced Ace as Mr.1, and declared that he would become the symbol of a new era, and meanwhile, the Marines investigated Robin and the Giant Beast.
• Luffy and his crew arrived at Sakura Kingdom, and Ace left to meet them, while a mysterious visitor confronted Vivi in her room and froze her sand blade and arm.

Vivi exposed Baroque Works to Aokiji, while Xia Qiu and his crew defeated Moria, gathered allies, and trained for the New World. After reaching Fish-Man Island, they were arrested amid a plot to overthrow King Neptune, then escaped and prepared to infiltrate Hody’s group.

• Vivi revealed Baroque Works’ bases and president to Aokiji, who promised to protect her and Alabasta before pursuing the organization.
• Xia Qiu, Ace, and Heckle escaped Aokiji, defeated Gecko Moria on Thriller Bark, and recruited Perona and Hogback after Moria’s death.
• Xia Qiu returned to Island Two, trained in the Six Powers and Haki, while Vivi trained with Momousagi and Zala opened a medical center in Sakura Kingdom.
• Xia Qiu defeated and swallowed Garp, then contacted the Revolutionary Army and gathered his crew to sail for the New World.
• The crew descended to Fish-Man Island, where the Royal Army captured Ace and the others as Xia Qiu was confronted by the New Fish-Man Pirates.
• Hody Jones persuaded Hachi to join his planned rebellion against King Neptune, while Xia Qiu followed Hachi and waited for the Flying Pirates to arrive.
