Background

Chen Ping'an lived in Pear Blossom Lane of Wei River County City with his younger sister, Chen Er'ya. The original Chen Ping'an drowned years earlier; the present Chen Ping'an recalls having transmigrated into his life. Their mother died giving birth to Er'ya, while their father, Old Chen, later died from injuries sustained during a mission for the South Spring Neighborhood Pacification Office.
