"What are you doing?" the Arbiter coldly asked Life.
"You should know very well what kind of trait I possess. What, did you forget, or have you truly run out of options?"
The Arbiter spoke with exceptional confidence, as though it were venting all the resentment it had accumulated over so long. Its tone toward Life even carried a hint of mockery.
Although the Arbiter controlled all the gods' divine power, no god could ever take from it the portion of divine power that shared the same origin as themselves.
Even if Life's control over the power of life far surpassed the Arbiter's, it still could not do so!
This was the rule the gods had established when they created the Arbiter together. It was also meant to guard against one another, ensuring that no god could directly influence the Arbiter, "the most just existence."
Ironically, the Arbiter's birth had benefited Life. Back then, Life had been the one with the fewest objections...
It was just that perhaps none of the gods of that time had ever anticipated this day.
