Ang's figure gradually emerged beneath the moonlight. His steps were light and soundless, yet the patrolling warriors still spotted him.

"Who goes there?!" A sharp shout tore through the night. Several warriors wielding halberds immediately went on guard, murderous intent blazing from them.

Ang did not use his power. He raised a hand to show that he meant no conflict and called out, "I'm here to see His Highness Preston."

The warriors exchanged glances and did not dare delay. They immediately sent someone to notify the commander.

Before long, the commander of Blackstone Fortress arrived alongside Preston.

Under the torchlight, Preston wore a grave expression and seemed even more exhausted than usual.

"Lord Ang." The commander of Blackstone Fortress bowed solemnly.

"Haha, no need for that." Ang smiled slightly and waved his hand.

After the greetings, the commander tactfully withdrew, leaving only Ang and Preston.

Preston froze for a moment, and a trace of gratitude flashed through his eyes.

He nodded, then quickly led Ang up the northern wall.
