Ch. 441Travel (12)

Ang hunted Rock Ridge Lizardmen with Dark Magic for nearly two months, then secretly aided the Mountain Lizardmen in their battle against them. After the Mountain Ridge Tribe won, Ang pursued the wounded Rock Ridge Lizardman warrior who had fled.

  • Ang followed a Rock Ridge Lizardmen patrol, lost its trail after fighting a Gale Eagle, and found seven of them ambushing and killing a Mountain Lizardmen tribe; he killed the Rock Ridge Lizardmen with Corrosive Rain, Flesh Separation, and Life Absorption.
  • Over nearly two months, Ang hunted nearly half the Rock Ridge Lizardmen, then watched Mountain Lizardmen scouts prepare for a larger conflict.
  • Tens of thousands of Mountain Lizardmen surrounded the Rock Ridge Lizardmen, and Ang used Shapeshifting to join the battlefield and secretly support the wounded with life energy.
  • Ang helped sustain Longshan as the Great Elder fought a powerful Rock Ridge Lizardman, who fled after Longshan shattered its arm; Longshan ordered the Mountain Lizardmen not to pursue.
  • After the Mountain Lizardmen withdrew, Ang followed the fleeing warrior, collecting the magical beast corpses it had left behind.

Ch. 442Travels (13)

Ang tracked a wounded Rock Ridge Lizardman to a valley, fought and killed it, and discovered a Heart of Earth hidden inside its body. He left with the crystal and other spoils, while the lizardman’s claim that gods would descend remained unexplored.

  • Ang found the nearly dead Rock Ridge Lizardman and tested it with spells, but its vitality remained unusually stable.
  • The Rock Ridge Lizardman recognized Ang as an outsider, and Ang revealed his human form and demanded to learn about its gods.
  • Ang fought the lizardman, blocked its escape, and drained its vitality while his aura strengthened his attacks.
  • Ang pierced the Rock Ridge Lizardman’s throat, extracted its remaining life energy, and sealed it in a crystal bottle.
  • Ang dissected the corpse, found a Heart of Earth inside it, stored the crystal, and flew away from the valley.

Ch. 443Travel (14)

After leaving the Milaginbi Mountains, Ang crossed the Danpier Plateau and met Linya, an elven archer whose companions had been killed by a Mountain Lizardmen chieftain. Linya left alone during the night, and Ang continued across the snowy plateau, where he detected a faint dark aura.

  • Ang reached the Danpier Plateau after spending nearly two months purifying life energy in the Milaginbi Mountains and carrying more than two thousand Life Potions.
  • Ang helped Linya burn her dead companions and followed her despite her reluctance to speak with him.
  • Linya told Ang that a Mountain Lizardmen chieftain had chased her party, and her companions had died protecting her escape.
  • Linya left camp during the night, and Ang let her go before resuming his journey the next morning.
  • Ang noticed that the plateau had unusually few magical beasts and detected a faint dark aura in the snow.

Ch. 444Travels (15)

Ang infiltrated a hidden mine on the Danpier Plateau and discovered that Joyce and the Black Mages were guarding a kobold-operated Mithril Ore vein. He uncovered signs of a larger plan involving a teleportation array, a sacrifice, and the Empire, then stayed hidden as a Black Mage nearly discovered him.

  • Ang watched nearly a hundred Dark Heavy Armor Warriors patrol a gorge for three days before a tremor brought Joyce and several Black Mages out of a cave.
  • Ang disguised himself as a kobold and followed the slaves into the mine, where he confirmed they were extracting Mithril Ore.
  • Ang worked among the kobolds for days, memorizing the mine’s passages until a Black Mage chose him to help carry magic lamps deeper into the tunnels.
  • Ang used the darkness to reach an underground plaza, where he spotted a magic furnace, ore crates, Black Mages, and a room containing a Magic Teleportation Array.
  • Ang overheard references to a sacrifice, a magic array, and the Empire before a Black Mage came close to finding him, then turned away without detecting him.

Ch. 445Travels (16)

Ang sabotaged the Magic Teleportation Array and used undead attacks to disrupt the mine, then killed a young Black Mage in the tunnels. He remained hidden as fear and disorder spread through the Mine Tunnel.

  • Ang used an earthquake evacuation to sneak into the stone house and damage the Magic Teleportation Array, cutting off the Black Magic Society's supply route.
  • After the miners returned, the Black Mages discovered the array was broken and ordered the kobolds to prioritize food while the Dark Heavy Armor Warriors hunted.
  • Ang summoned Kobold Skeleton Soldiers in the mine passages, injuring kobolds and blocking key routes until ore production plummeted.
  • The older Black Mage ordered the passages cleared, and a young Black Mage went alone into the tunnels to destroy the undead.
  • Ang ambushed the young Black Mage, killed him with a skinning knife and Life Absorption, cleaned the blood, and disappeared into the darkness.

Ch. 446Wandering (17)

Ang waited until the Black Mages let down their guard, then used Anti-Magic Field discs and stealth to kill them in the mine. After killing all three, he stood over the last Black Mage’s body in the silent room.

  • The middle-aged Black Mage examined a drained corpse, ordered the search for the undead to continue, and burned the body to ashes.
  • Ang hid among the kobolds while the three Black Mages searched the tunnels, then planted Anti-Magic Field discs beneath their laboratory tables.
  • Ang activated a disc in the middle-aged Black Mage’s room and stabbed him through the heart before using Life Absorption on his corpse.
  • Ang entered the supply manager’s room, suppressed his magic, cut his throat, and drained his life force.
  • When the final Black Mage confronted him with a whip, Ang dodged the strike, knocked him down, and snapped his neck.

Ch. 447Traveling (18)

Ang destroyed the Mithril mine and killed the Dark Heavy Armor Warriors before freeing the kobolds. He traveled to the South Brook Great Grassland, where he disguised himself as a Black Mage and stirred the lizardmen against the Black Magic Society, leaving them to form an army against its expansion.

  • Ang removed the Space Stones from the Magic Teleportation Array, destroyed it, and took the Mithril and useful supplies from the Black Mages.
  • Ang planted magic bombs in the mine tunnels, collapsed them on the Dark Heavy Armor Warriors, killed the guards outside, and freed the kobolds.
  • Ang left the canyon and flew for nearly two months until he reached the South Brook Great Grassland, where he learned about its lizardman tribes.
  • Ang disguised himself as a Black Mage and robbed lizardman tribes, causing them to blame the Black Magic Society and attack its operatives.
  • Ang continued provoking the tribes until they formed Allied Forces to drive out the Black Magic Society, aiming to thwart Joyce's expansion plan.

Ch. 448Travels (19)

Joyce investigated attacks on the Black Magic Society’s operations and suspected an unknown mage was sabotaging them. Meanwhile, Ang entered the Wind Cry Scale Shepherd Tribe and prepared to use his supposed divine mission to win the Lizardmen’s trust.

  • Joyce ordered a Black Mage to use Soul Grasp on captured Kobolds and learned that a fire mage had destroyed the Mithril Ore mine on the Danpier Plateau.
  • Joyce discovered that an unknown Black Mage had impersonated the Society to provoke the Lizardmen and offered the tribes weapons and potions for information about the culprit.
  • Ang demonstrated a saddle and stirrups to Zongfeng, sold him the set for three magic crystals, and claimed to be Lalau, a god-guided traveler from the Mountain Ridge Tribe.
  • Zongfeng invited Ang to the Wind Cry Scale Shepherd Tribe, where Ang learned it had more than one hundred and fifty thousand people.
  • Ang told Zongfeng that the gods had guided him to the tribe so he could bring them better things, and Zongfeng responded with anticipation and reverence.

Ch. 449Travels (20)

Ang stayed with the Wind Cry Scale Shepherd Tribe, introduced roasted meat, pottery, and earthen houses, and gained the lizardmen’s reverence while secretly seeking profit and valuable materials. He left with two Space Stones and several Wind Element ores, as Zongfeng believed Ang had humbly accepted his offerings.

  • Ang shared Fine Cassava with a female lizardman and later taught Zongfeng how to roast mutton.
  • Zongfeng told Ang that an outsider had been robbing lizardman tribes and burning their homes, while Ang concealed that he was responsible.
  • Ang taught young lizardmen to make porcelain pots, which the tribe traded with neighboring settlements.
  • Ang led the Grassland Lizardmen in building earthen houses to replace their leaky tents.
  • The elders offered Ang valuable goods, but he selected Space Stones and Wind Element ores that they had overlooked.

Ch. 450Traveling (21)

After spending two months improving the Wind Cry Scale Shepherd Tribe, Ang left as the Black Magic Society began targeting him. He killed the warrior sent to ambush him, while the Black Mage remained nearby.

  • Ang watched the Black Magic Society sell the lizardmen overpriced longbows and realized its members would not tolerate the tribe's development.
  • The Black Mages learned that Lalau had transformed the tribe and showed killing intent, but Ang said goodbye to Zongfeng and departed.
  • Ang sensed a Black Mage and a Dark Enchanted Armament Warrior following him, then exposed their ambush with a stone.
  • The Dark Enchanted Armament Warrior attacked Ang, who blocked his blows with a tower shield and countered with the Dragon Thorn Spear.
  • Ang drew the fight into the forest, overcame the warrior's dark energy with Holy Light, and pierced his chest with the spear.

Ch. 451Travel (22)

Ang lured the Black Magic Society caravan into a cave and used an Anti-Magic Field to ambush and kill its Black Mages and Dark Enchanted Armament Warriors. After collecting their valuables, he left a bloody warning on the cave wall.

  • Ang disguised himself as a wounded Dark Enchanted Armament Warrior, killed a Black Mage who came to help him, and took the mage's belongings.
  • Ang found a secluded cave, hid Anti-Magic Array Plates inside it, and waited there with the corpses as bait.
  • When the Black Magic Society caravan arrived, Ang ambushed and killed three Dark Enchanted Armament Warriors inside the cave.
  • Ang activated the Anti-Magic Field and killed the five Black Mages who entered the cave.
  • Ang emerged and killed the two remaining Dark Enchanted Armament Warriors, using a Holy Light Bullet to destroy one warrior's Dark Little Giant phantom.
  • Ang searched the caravan's Magic Waist Pouches, collected valuable materials and scrolls, and wrote a warning on the cave wall in blood.

Ch. 452Wandering (23)

Joyce investigated a missing trade caravan and a Mountain Lizardman suspected of impersonating the Black Magic Society, then discovered the caravan had been killed. The Society’s raids drove the grassland tribes to unite and expel its forces, leaving Joyce determined to find the Lizardman.

  • Joyce ordered an extensive search for the overdue first trade caravan and investigated a Mountain Lizardman believed to be stirring Lizardmen tribes against the Empire.
  • A Black Mage reported that the first caravan’s twelve members were dead, and Joyce found their bodies in a cave beside an Imperial-language threat.
  • Joyce ordered the Black Mages to halt external trade and focus on tracking down the Mountain Lizardman, while they began abducting Lizardmen for sacrifices.
  • After seven tribes vanished and nearly seven thousand Lizardmen were lost, the Wind Cry Scale Shepherd Tribe’s leaders called for outsiders to be driven out.
  • Dozens of Lizardmen tribes united, expelled the Black Magic Society from the grassland, and forced Joyce to order the search for the Mountain Lizardman at any cost.

Ch. 453Journey (24)

Ang worked to turn the South Brook Grassland’s lizardman tribes against the Black Magic Society while evading its search parties. He entered a new tribe disguised as Lalau and planned to use the tribes’ connections to trap the Black Magic Society.

  • Ang told a lizardman that the Black Magic Society had sacrificed thousands of lizardmen and considered how to make the grassland its graveyard.
  • Ang spotted Black Mages using an Eye of Scrutiny, escaped their pursuit by hiding underground, and waited until they flew away.
  • Ang spent several days evading the Black Magic Society’s search parties and led them toward a powerful lizardman tribe whose warriors could deter the mages.
  • Ang posed as Lalau of the Mountain Ridge Tribe and convinced the chief of his identity with a story about Elder Longshan and the Rock Ridge Lizardmen.
  • The chief welcomed Ang into the tribe, and Ang planned to use the lizardmen tribes’ connections to encircle the Black Magic Society.

Ch. 454Traveling (25)

Ang used his supposed role as a divine messenger to win Bone Mountain’s trust and learn the Bone Scale Tribe’s history, then resumed evading the Black Magic Society across the prairie. He turned their search into a guerrilla campaign, killing fifteen Dark Enchanted Armament Warriors and leaving the surviving squads demoralized.

  • Ang taught the Bone Scale Tribe to build rammed-earth houses and discovered that Bone Mountain had once lived among the Mountain Ridge Tribe.
  • Bone Mountain asked Ang about the god, and Ang claimed that the god had sent tribes to resist the outsiders.
  • Bone Mountain told Ang that the lizardmen had defeated the mermen with help from the Wetland Lizardmen and that their god had slain the mermen’s deity.
  • Ang earned Bone Mountain’s trust by posing as a divine messenger and departed to continue evading the Black Magic Society.
  • The Black Magic Society sent teams of Dark Enchanted Armament Warriors to hunt Ang, and he used Earth Magic traps and nighttime attacks to kill fifteen of them in a week.
  • The surviving warriors grew fearful and demoralized, unaware that Ang was an elite noble lord of the Empire.

Ch. 455Journeys (26)

Ang silently killed the Black Mages guarding their camp, then followed the survivors to locate the Black Magic Society’s hidden stronghold. After Joyce led the main force away, he infiltrated the castle and discovered a teleportation array connecting it to other strongholds.

  • Ang activated an anti-magic array and silently killed all eleven Black Mages left guarding the camp, then took their supplies.
  • The surviving Black Mages found the bodies, abandoned their mission, and headed back to their stronghold while Ang secretly followed them.
  • Ang tracked the party to the mountains outside South Brook and located the Black Magic Society’s stronghold.
  • Joyce whipped more than a dozen Black Mages for failing to capture Ang and announced she would lead the next expedition herself.
  • After Joyce and the main force left, Ang entered the castle through an underground passage and bypassed its concealed barrier array.
  • Ang found a protected Magic Teleportation Array, dismantled its traps, and copied its coordinate runes to locate other strongholds.

Ch. 456Travels (27)

Ang hid in the castle as Joyce ordered the Black Mages to find the lizardman who had cost them so many people, while Koler urged her to focus on the Mithril Ore in the Dampier Highlands. Koler escaped through the Magic Teleportation Array, and the Black Mages fled the next morning, leaving Joyce alone to contemplate the mine.

  • Ang concealed himself in a dusty storage room and overheard the Black Mages return to the castle after failing to find him.
  • Joyce demanded that the lizardman's head be brought to her within three days, threatening death to anyone who failed.
  • Koler told Joyce to stop pursuing the lizardman and focus on surveying and mining the Mithril Ore in the Dampier Highlands.
  • Joyce attacked Koler with her magic whip, but he fled to the storage room and escaped through the Magic Teleportation Array.
  • The Black Mages packed up their valuables and left the castle, while Joyce remained alone in the council hall, thinking about the Mithril Ore.

Ch. 457Traveling (28)

Ang disguised himself as a Black Mage to ambush Joyce and interrogate her about the Black Magic Society, its pursuit of him, and its origins. Joyce revealed that the Society might be led by an Abyss Demon, while Ang learned that complete Holy Light Magic knowledge existed beyond the Wilderland Empire; he continued pressing Joyce about why she had come to South Brook Grassland.

  • Ang disguised himself as a Black Mage and tricked Joyce into thinking her group had tracked down the lizardman.
  • Ang seized Joyce, broke both her arms, revealed his identity, and confronted her about the Society's secret mithril mining.
  • Ang transformed into a lizardman and convinced Joyce that he had destroyed the Danpier Plateau mine.
  • Joyce told Ang that the Black Magic Society had operated in the Archipelago Plane since its discovery and that an Abyss Demon might be its mastermind.
  • Joyce explained that her group pursued Ang because he wielded Holy Light Magic, and that the Wilderland Empire lacked its complete inheritance.
  • Joyce said she had avoided Amnath and Fortress of Will and hidden in South Brook Grassland, but Ang challenged her claim that his arrival there was her fault.

Ch. 458Traveling (29)

Ang interrogated Joyce about her ties to the Black Magic Society, the Morgan and Rockefeller families, and the society’s plans on the Archipelago Plane. Joyce survived the questioning, but Ang left her under continued threat as he exposed the society’s failed ambitions and its members’ means of escape.

  • Ang slapped Joyce and learned that she was Helen Morgan’s aunt, had joined the Black Magic Society at birth, and was born Joyce Rockefeller before her family cast her out.
  • Joyce told Ang that her biological sister, Helen’s mother, was also a mage, though the Morgan Family did not know it.
  • Ang questioned Joyce about the Black Magic Society’s exploration of the Tasmanian Continent, and she admitted the society aimed to establish a ruling system independent of the Empire.
  • Joyce revealed that the society’s attempts to empower local lords through demonic sacrifices had ended with their territories abandoned, and Ang condemned the rituals as a way for demons to claim souls.
  • Ang told Joyce that the Black Mages at the outposts had fled rather than gone to capture him, and explained that mages joined the society in exchange for help advancing to Rank 1.
  • Ang continued to menace Joyce and questioned whether she still thought he wanted to kill her; Joyce stayed silent and survived the encounter.

Ch. 459Traveling (30)

Ang killed Joyce after questioning her about the Tasmania Continent, looted and destroyed the Black Magic Society’s stronghold, then continued his journey toward the Amos Mountains. There he found a magical grain crop and reached centaur territory, where he spotted a centaur’s corpse beside a White Mane Bear.

  • Ang questioned Joyce about the continent and learned that the Lizardmen were outsiders whose range had gradually shrunk.
  • Ang revealed Joyce’s succubus heritage and killed her with holy light, then took her map and valuables and destroyed the Black Magic Society’s castle.
  • Ang followed Joyce’s map toward the Amos Mountains, where he found magical herbs that could strengthen the body and collected seeds and grain.
  • Ang traveled through Lizardmen territory in disguise, then returned to human form as he climbed beyond their range.
  • Ang reached the Amos Mountains and found a centaur’s corpse beside a White Mane Bear, then drew his sword.

Ch. 460Journey (31)

Ang failed to defeat a powerful White Mane Bear directly and devised a plan to pit it against a pack of wind wolves. He lured the wolves into the bear’s territory, where the two sides prepared to fight while he watched from above.

  • Ang attacked the White Mane Bear with his sword, then escaped its blows on a Magic Broom and discovered that arrows could not pierce its fur.
  • Ang followed the bear to its cave and bombed it, but the bear survived with only scorched fur and healed itself with Earth Power.
  • Ang found a pack of wind wolves, killed one, and used its body and magic bombs to lure the pack toward the bear’s mountain hollow.
  • Ang provoked the Wind Wolf King into leading its pack into the hollow, where the wolves confronted the awakened White Mane Bear.
  • Ang watched from the air and hoped the bear and the wind wolves would cripple each other.
