Ch. 961Tug of War (2)

Ang returned to the Archipelago Plane with more than five hundred Second-tier experts and became wanted by the gods, while the God-Demon Battlefield faced a renewed Demon offensive. The emperor stripped Ang of his titles, but Ang accepted the decree calmly and sent his companions to cultivate at the top of the World Tree.

  • Ang led more than five hundred Second-tier experts from the God-Demon Battlefield to Fortress of Will, and the gods issued a Wanted Order against him.
  • Lanlost and his allies discussed seeking Ang’s help with Tutataab’s body, but Shaya and the Wind Element Grand Archmage warned them about his power and the approaching Demon retaliation.
  • The Demon army launched a fierce attack on the first line of defense, retaking dozens of fortresses and drawing attention away from Ang’s escape.
  • The emperor ordered all ties with Ang severed and stripped Marquis Ang of his titles and privileges, and Pute delivered the decree to Ang in World City.
  • Ang told his companions that their ranks had been raised and instructed them to cultivate at the top of the World Tree, saying he had already spoken with Drumil.

Ch. 962Tug-of-War (3)

Drumil revealed that faith could help a World Tree advance toward godhood and gave Ang a framework for creating a Divine Prayer. Ang tested it with the kobolds, whose prayers reached him and whose leader, Black Claw, became convinced that Ang would become a god.

  • Drumil told Ang that he hoped to gain the faith of beings across three plane worlds and passed on a framework for a Divine Prayer.
  • Ang developed a prayer naming himself the God of Chaos and discovered that reciting it let him hear his own words as an echo.
  • Ang asked Black Claw to find a few kobolds to test the prayer, and Black Claw agreed eagerly.
  • That night, Ang heard Black Claw and thirteen other kobolds praying to him and responded, "I know."
  • Black Claw and the other kobolds heard Ang's reply, and at dawn Black Claw declared that the kobolds would become messengers of a god.

Ch. 963A Tug-of-War (4)

After confirming that Divine Prayer worked, Ang agreed to help Drumil find three unconquered planes and learned that Abyss Prison’s assault had stalled the Wanted Order against him. He accepted the Empire’s noble rewards, demanded an equal-value exchange for Tutataab, and used Divine Prayer to monitor Candice, Leon, and Joandi, whose constant prayers overwhelmed him.

  • Ang agreed to help Drumil, who set out to search for three unconquered planes.
  • Preston told Ang that Abyss Prison’s attack had kept the factions occupied and delivered noble promotions and emblems for Ang’s subordinates.
  • Ang told Preston that he had obtained Tutataab and would trade it to the Empire only for something of equal value.
  • Ang taught Divine Prayer to Candice and Leon and learned that the Black Magic Society had gone silent after Amel’s death.
  • Ang questioned Joandi about her succubus mother and Rockefeller family ties, then ordered her to pray daily and report everything.
  • Joandi began praying almost constantly, flooding Ang with reports until he cut off the connection to escape the stream.

Ch. 964Tug-of-War (5)

The Wilderland Empire agreed to trade the Law Potion formula and materials for the item Ang had obtained, while Ang also learned that Ilsa had died and agreed to help her family in Tanaster Province. The chapter ended with Ang grieving over Ilsa’s last words as Monroe departed World City.

  • The emperor agreed to exchange the Law Potion formula and one complete set of materials for Ang’s item after Elijah advised him that Ang likely wanted the formula.
  • Ang inspected the formula, requested six additional rare materials, and told Preston he would bring the item to Akreli once the materials were gathered.
  • Hal Sparks arrived in World City seeking Ang’s help with a crisis in the Maple Sugar Plane, and he introduced Monroe Tan’anster, Ilsa’s son.
  • After reading Ilsa’s letter and hearing that her family faced danger, Ang agreed to send troops and asked the Grand Duke of Tan’anster to meet with him.
  • Monroe told Ang that Ilsa had died from old wounds and had described her time with Ang as the happiest period of her life.
  • Ang stood alone on World City’s walls after Monroe left, mourning Ilsa and wondering whether he had become the person she had imagined.

Ch. 965Aid (1)

Ang visited the World Tree, then agreed to aid Duke Tan'anster in defending Maple Sugar City from evil ghosts in the Maple Sugar Plane. He sent troops led by Natiya and Linya ahead, established a Plane Portal, and dispatched the Enchanted Armament Knights as reinforcements.

  • Ang met Natiya atop the World Tree, learned she was nearing Archmage, and agreed to take her with him to the Maple Sugar Plane.
  • Duke Tan'anster asked Ang to help defend Maple Sugar City, and Ang accepted the plane coordinates and ordered the Flame Swordsman Regiment, Natiya, Linya, and the Archer Group to go first.
  • Ang and the Magic Workshop craftsmen forged two array foundations, and Ang completed a stable Plane Portal after his first inscription attempt failed.
  • Hal Sparks arrived through the portal, and Ang ordered Slock to lead the Enchanted Armament Knights through to the Maple Sugar Plane.
  • Three thousand knights charged through the portal under orders to follow Natiya, delivering the first major reinforcements to the besieged plane.

Ch. 966Aid (2)

Ang prepared to send troops to Maple Sugar Plane while Katie visited World City, sought Tutakasa's body, and explained the requirements for using Law Potions. After Katie left, Drumil reported finding the lizardmen's likely former homeland, and Lanlost asked Ang to divide Tutataab's body again.

  • Nearly ten thousand Senior Squires entered Maple Sugar Plane with supplies, strengthening Maple Sugar City's defenses as Ang prepared to inspect the plane.
  • Katie visited Ang and asked to buy Tutakasa's body, but he refused and offered to hunt a Tier 4 Foul Spirit with her if she found clues to one.
  • Katie demonstrated how her body had transformed into water elements and explained that only Tier 4 lives could withstand Law Potions.
  • Katie learned that Ang planned to support Duke Tan'anster, then left World City after warning him about the Tan'anster Family.
  • Drumil told Ang he had found a destroyed plane of lava and fire, which Ang identified as the lizardmen's likely former homeland.
  • Lanlost asked Ang to divide Tutataab's body into three portions for Law Potion refinement and revealed that demons had rescued Tutataab.

Ch. 967Aid (3)

Ang returned to Maple Sugar City and demanded that its citizens be allowed to evacuate and that World City's reinforcements be left unhindered. He then visited Charles's battered family legion and used holy light to heal its warriors, leaving nearly a hundred of them newly advanced to Level 1.

  • Ang returned to Maple Sugar City, learned Charles and Donna were safe, and called for a pre-war meeting.
  • Ang required the Grand Duke to let citizens choose whether to leave and to stop officials from obstructing World City's reinforcements; Grand Duke Tan'anster agreed to the first condition.
  • Natiya and Linya told Ang that most nobles had abandoned plans to fight and were preparing to flee, while citizens were being kept in the city to preserve magic crystals for the Plane Portal.
  • Ang reunited with Charles, learned that the Remant Family had lost Charles's brothers, and asked to see its legion.
  • Ang found the legion's warriors badly wounded and used holy light to heal them, helping nearly a hundred advance from Senior Squires to Level 1 Warriors.

Ch. 968Assistance (4)

Ang helped Charles equip newly advanced warriors and ordered food for Maple Sugar City's civilians before surveying the demon armies surrounding the city. Elsewhere, Lanlost and the others debated the failed Law Potion and their secret plans, while Ang reunited with Donna and learned of her family's losses and the force she commanded.

  • Ang gave Charles chests of Basic Strength Armaments on credit and told him to prepare his warriors for the coming confrontation with the demons.
  • Ang ordered Monroe Tan'anster to distribute food to every civilian in Maple Sugar City's public and civilian districts that night.
  • A gray-bearded Grand Archmage revealed that the Law Potion had only one-third of its intended effect, and Lanlost's group discussed collecting a complete Tier 4 Foul Spirit body and avoiding suspicion from Ang.
  • Ang met Donna on Maple Sugar City's walls, and she told him that Master Louis had died fighting demons after killing dozens of them.
  • Donna told Ang and Natiya that she led a five-hundred-member warband and commanded another five hundred warriors left by her family.

Ch. 969Aid (5)

Ang evacuated civilians from the Maple Sugar Plane and led his forces in repeated battles that killed vast numbers of Demons, stabilizing the area around Maple Sugar City. As the local nobles waited for a chance to profit, Ang identified the Gate of Foul Spirits on the Kewenhua Grand Plains as his next target.

  • Ang pressured the Grand Duke of Tan'anster to open the Plane Portal, and civilians returned to Tan'anster City while the nobles blocked their passage to the Archipelago Plane.
  • Ang launched three thousand Flame Swordsmen, Slock's Enchanted Armament Knights, and the Infantry Regiment against the Demons surrounding Maple Sugar City.
  • Ang's forces drove back the Demons, killing over sixty thousand, and collected their Black Magic Crystals and Black Magic Mark Skin.
  • Ang lured successive Demon forces toward Maple Sugar City and fought them for a week, bringing the number of Demons slain to one hundred fifty thousand.
  • The nobles asked the Grand Duke of Tan'anster to let them join the fighting, but they balked when he warned they might be sent to the front lines.
  • Ang told Natiya that his next target was the Gate of Foul Spirits on the Kewenhua Grand Plains.

Ch. 970Assistance (6)

Ang's army reached Wolf City and fought an apparently inexhaustible Demon horde, while he discovered the enemies were being drawn to his forces. Gray-robed figures opened three more Abyssal Gates, and Ang summoned reinforcements as he struggled to hold the line.

  • Ang marched through Baya City and Graystone City, rescued fewer than a hundred survivors between them, and reached ruined Wolf City on his thirty-eighth day in the Maple Sugar Plane.
  • Ang's army repelled an attack by more than 150,000 Demons with Earth Magic projectiles and coordinated charges led by Slock and the Flame Swordsman Regiment.
  • Ang learned that Demons had vanished from other routes and seemed to be gathering against his army, so he gave Natiya his command token to summon Great Warriors and Archmages.
  • Three gray-robed figures opened three additional Abyssal Gates in a valley near the Gate of Foul Spirits, unleashing Abyssal creatures before escaping through Teleportation Scrolls.
  • As the Demon horde grew to 200,000, Ang ordered Holy Light Bullets fired, suppressing the enemies while sacrificing the chance to recover most Black Magic Crystals.

Ch. 971Assistance (7)

Ang’s forces cleared Wolf City, then marched toward the Kewenhua Grand Plains with reinforcements from the Archipelago Plane. At the canyon, they broke through the demon ranks and discovered nearly a million demons, including members of the four great Abyssal Races, leaving Ang to face the question of whether his army could win without his intervention.

  • Ang approved Sloke and the commanders’ request to attack, and their combined forces wiped out the demons in Wolf City.
  • Natiya arrived with reinforcements, and Ang’s commanders finalized a plan to advance to the Kewenhua Grand Plains.
  • Ang’s army marched west and reached the canyon, where Isi used Earth Spikes to kill nearly a thousand demons before the assault continued.
  • Ang ordered Holy Light Bullets fired, and the Flame Swordsman Regiment broke through the canyon’s demon defenses.
  • Beyond the canyon, Ang and his allies saw an enormous demon army and identified Balrogs, Faceless Ones, and Spiderfolk among its ranks.
  • When Natiya asked whether they could win, Ang replied that they could not if he did not make a move.

Ch. 972Assistance (8)

Ang annihilated the four Tier 3 abyssal commanders on the Kewenhua Grand Plains, turning the demon army’s attack into a rout. News reached Maple Sugar City, where a marquis suggested Ang should also clear the remaining demons, and Grand Duke Tan'anster warned him to make the request himself.

  • Ang tore through the demon ranks with hurricanes and golden purification rain as Natiya, Dana, Gweny, and Puri joined the battle.
  • A Tier 3 Foul Spirit and three other Tier 3 abyssal monsters arrived with their forces, and Ang told Natiya and the others to retreat if necessary.
  • Natiya and the others used countermeasures against the Tier 2 enemies while Ang faced the four Tier 3 monsters and killed them with his Slowing Domain.
  • The demon army lost heart and fled, and Ang declared that the battle’s outcome was decided.
  • At the Maple Sugar City war council, a marquis proposed that Ang clear the remaining demons, and Grand Duke Tan'anster challenged him to ask Ang directly.

Ch. 973Assistance (9)

Ang warned his forces to flee the Maple Sugar Plane as fourth-tier Demons began to descend, then prepared a trap while facing two powerful enemies. Katie alerted Lanlost and the other experts, who traveled to Tan'anster City but could not enter the plane; Ang was left preparing to fight the Demons with the Magic Towers he had buried.

  • Ang sensed a fourth-tier threat, ordered Natiya to evacuate the troops to World City, and raised a Stone Wall to block the pursuing Demons.
  • Ang summoned Earth Elemental Giants to build twenty-seven Magic Towers, then sent Akreli a warning that a fourth-tier Demon had descended.
  • Katie received Ang's message and hurried to Akreli's teleportation square, notifying several powerful people along the way.
  • Lanlost, Fisher, and their companions traveled from the God-Demon Battlefield to Tan'anster City, but waited when they found the Maple Sugar Plane portal connected to World City.
  • The fourth-tier Flame Demon broke free of its gate, devoured nearby Demons, and advanced until it and another fourth-tier Demon flanked Ang.
  • Ang prepared to recreate his defense at Ebony Fortress by sinking the Magic Towers underground.

Ch. 974Falling (1)

Ang held off attacks from the Tier 4 Foul Spirit and Balrog while two more Abyss Prison experts emerged, and Natiya withdrew Ang's warriors from the doomed Maple Sugar Plane. As nobles and outsiders reacted to the evacuation, Lanlost's group entered Maple Sugar City and flew toward the battlefield, while Adelaide warned Prince Ak that his plan depended on Ang dying.

  • Ang stopped the Foul Spirit's Spear of Darkness with his Slowing Domain and underground suction, then blocked the Balrog's lava boulder with an ice shield drawn from the Water Elemental Plane.
  • After three days, a Tier 4 Faceless One and Tier 4 spiderfolk emerged from the Abyss Prison Gates, though Ang judged them physically weaker than the Foul Spirit and Balrog.
  • Natiya brought Ang's warriors to Maple Sugar City, warned the Grand Duke of Tan'anster that the plane was nearing destruction, and led the warriors back to World City as the portal closed.
  • The nobles began preparing to flee, and Donna and Charles quietly left the Maple Sugar Plane with their troops.
  • Lanlost, Fisher, and the others entered Maple Sugar City despite the portal allowing departures but not entries; Adelaide told them that four Tier 4 Abyss Prison experts had arrived and that Katie and the merfolk queen were heading to the battlefield.
  • Adelaide warned Prince Ak that he would die if Ang survived, but Prince Ak said this was his only chance.

Ch. 975Falling (2)

Ang fought the four Abyss Prison monsters alongside Katie and the Mermaid Empress, using Chaos Fire to kill the Faceless One. With the remaining enemies contained by the Chaos Shield, Ang urged the others to rest and asked Katie to contact Lanlost about the reinforcements.

  • Ang learned that the Mermaid Empress was a Grand Archmage and that Katie had received no replies from most of her reinforcements, though Lanlost was expected to arrive.
  • Ang summoned Lightning Giants to trap the Faceless One while he and the two women restrained the other three Abyss Prison monsters.
  • Ang wounded the Foul Spirit with a Chaos Spear and chased the Spiderfolk with another, then struck the Faceless One with a spear that unleashed Chaos Fire.
  • Ang burned the Faceless One to death and collected its Tier 4 Black Magic Crystal as the other monsters attacked the Chaos Shield.
  • Ang explained that the shield could withstand the remaining monsters and suggested waiting for reinforcements; he then asked Katie to contact Lanlost, and she took out her Magic Communication Crystal.

Ch. 976Fall (3)

Ang fought the abyssal monsters alongside Lanlost's group after drawing them into the battle, then killed the Spider-Man as another Tier 4 Foul Spirit emerged from the Gate of Foul Spirits. The remaining Demons began releasing Demonic Power, threatening to overwhelm the Maple Sugar Plane.

  • Ang lured Lanlost and his companions into the gray fog and used the chained Tier 4 Foul Spirit to disrupt their attack on the Demons.
  • Katie and the Mermaid Queen joined Lanlost's group, and the Demon's horns healed his injuries while Ang pursued the Spider-Man.
  • The Tier 4 Foul Spirit blew an ancient black horn, summoning a second, larger Tier 4 Foul Spirit that was unaffected by the Maple Sugar Plane's laws.
  • Ang trapped the Spider-Man with his Slowing Domain, killed him with a Chaos Spear, and sealed his corpse in a Demon Sealing Box.
  • The two Demons pressed their horns together and began releasing Demonic Power, causing the earth and sky to shake as Ang sensed the danger.

Ch. 977Fallen (4)

Ang explained that his Chaos Power could not overpower the Demons, then waited for their spread of Demonic Power to stop before using twenty-seven Magic Towers to temporarily seal the abyss’s pull. The Maple Sugar Plane was still falling, leaving Ang and his allies only a brief opportunity to fight.

  • Ang told Katie and the Mermaid Empress that Demonic Power would devour his Chaos Power unless he reached the Demons’ realm or surpassed it.
  • Ang questioned Lanlost and his companions about their invitation and the division of spoils, then waited for the Demons to stop spreading Demonic Power.
  • The Mermaid Empress explained that the abyss’s invasion would devour the plane and annihilate its inhabitants.
  • After a day, the Kewenhua Grand Plains collapsed into a black hole, and the Demons stopped spreading Demonic Power.
  • Ang arranged twenty-seven Magic Towers into a triangular array and used gray mist to temporarily block the abyss’s pull, while warning that the Maple Sugar Plane was still falling.

Ch. 978Falling (5)

Ang sealed the Abyssal Prison’s opening with the Chaos Shield while Katie, the Mermaid Empress, and their allies held back two Tier 4 Foul Spirits. He defeated the fleeing Balrog and took its Molten Core and Black Magic Crystal, but the resulting lava threatened Kwenhua Plain as the Foul Spirits remained at large.

  • Ang used the magic formation’s gray fog to block the abyssal hole, while Katie, the Mermaid Empress, the female Grand Archmage, Fisher, Lanlost, and the burly man restrained the two Foul Spirits.
  • Ang tracked the Balrog as it fled past the battle, then tripped it with a gray thread and attacked it with the Chaos Spear, chains, and frost.
  • The Balrog broke Ang’s Slowing Domain, but Ang severed its head with the Despair Greatsword and cut open its chest.
  • Ang sealed the Balrog’s Molten Core in a Demon Sealing Box and removed its Tier 4 Black Magic Crystal, causing its body to collapse into spreading lava.
  • Ang warned that Kwenhua Plain could not withstand much more and looked toward the ongoing fight with the two Foul Spirits.

Ch. 979Falling (6)

Ang and his allies fought two Tier 4 Foul Spirits, with Katie and the Mermaid Empress helping restrain one while Ang pursued the other. Ang captured the fleeing Foul Spirit in Demon Sealing Boxes, while the battle against its companion continued.

  • Ang fought the two Tier 4 Foul Spirits, and Katie escaped their Darkness Spears with the Illusionary Body Technique, suffering backlash that disrupted the sea current.
  • Ang shielded Katie and the Mermaid Empress and carried them on his shoulders while they restored their magic power and prepared to cast again.
  • Ang wounded one Foul Spirit with a Chaos Spear as Katie and the Mermaid Empress used the sea current to drive it toward the gray mist, joined by Lanlost and the other experts.
  • When the other Foul Spirit fled, Ang chased it through the gray mist, wounded it with Chaos Spears, and dragged it down to the ground.
  • Ang pinned the Foul Spirit with Chaos Spears, extinguished its black flames, cut its body apart, and sealed the pieces in Demon Sealing Boxes.

Ch. 980Falling (7)

Ang captured the Tier 4 Foul Spirit after Lanlost and the other Fourth-tier experts tried to ambush him, then brought Katie and the Mermaid Empress into his Chaos Shield space. Their fear that he had been beguiled eased when he explained he had learned the Foul Spirit language in the Abyss Prison, and Katie confirmed his identity by asking about their past in the palace.

  • The Wind Element Grand Archmage told Lanlost and the others that Ang had captured a Tier 4 Foul Spirit, stirring resentment and envy among the group.
  • Ang returned and fought the Foul Spirit while Katie and the Mermaid Empress continued controlling the seawater; he told them telepathically to conserve their mana.
  • As Ang weakened the Foul Spirit, Lanlost stopped Fisher from approaching, but the five Fourth-tier experts eventually attacked Ang from behind when they saw the creature near defeat.
  • Ang blocked their attacks with a Chaos Shield, stored the Foul Spirit and its severed arms inside his magic array, and escaped into it as the shield shattered.
  • Ang dragged Katie and the Mermaid Empress into the gray space, where he bound and stored the Foul Spirit's remains and sealed its mouth after answering it in the Foul Spirit language.
  • Katie and the Mermaid Empress questioned whether Ang had been beguiled; Ang said he learned the language in the Abyss Prison, and Katie recognized him when he recalled their palace encounters.
