Ch. 981Falling (8)

Ang divided the Tier 4 Foul Spirit’s remains and forced Katie and the Mermaid Empress to agree to let him observe them brewing and drinking their Law Potions. He then offered the remaining portions to the Grand Archmages in exchange for rare materials, secretly negotiating with the Wind Element Grand Archmage as the chapter ended.

  • Ang gave Katie and the Mermaid Empress portions of the Demon’s remains in exchange for rare magic materials and their agreement to let him observe their Law Potion preparations and consumption.
  • Ang threatened to take back the Mermaid Empress’s portion unless she agreed, and both women reluctantly accepted his condition.
  • Outside the Chaos Shield, Lanlost and the Grand Archmages stopped their futile attacks after Ang warned that they would lose their chance to obtain the Demon’s remains.
  • Ang offered one of his nine remaining portions for ten portions of the listed third-tier materials, with trades limited to that day.
  • The Wind Element Grand Archmage privately offered Thunderwing Void Stones, and Ang agreed to exchange one portion of the Demon’s body for every two stones.
  • The Wind Element Grand Archmage hesitated to place his stones in a Demon Sealing Box while Ang prepared to conceal the private trade with gray mist.

Ch. 982Fall (9)

Ang traded Demon bodies for rare materials and a Holy Light inheritance, then faced Lanlost after Lanlost attacked him with a Spatial Blade scroll. Their confrontation escalated when Adelaide, Prince Ak, and four undead liches appeared, leaving Ang surrounded by new enemies.

  • Ang traded two Demon bodies to the Wind Element Grand Archmage for two Thunderwing Void Stones, a Mountain Kui Stone Bone, and a Tidal Blue Crystal.
  • Ang traded with Fisher for fifteen kinds of Tier 3 Light Element Materials and a Holy Light Magic inheritance, then distributed his remaining Demon bodies to Lanlost and the burly man.
  • Lanlost attacked Ang with a Spatial Blade scroll, but Ang escaped the strike and confronted him as the others withdrew.
  • Lanlost summoned six hidden allies, including Adelaide and Prince Ak, who arrived with four bandage-wrapped undead liches.
  • Katie explained that Prince Ak belonged to an Alfred Family branch with an undead-mage legacy, while she and the Mermaid Empress watched Ang face the newcomers.

Ch. 983Falling (10)

Ang defended Chaos Shield against Prince Ak and the four liches, using holy light from the Magic Towers to purify waves of undead and collect soul crystal cores. After asking whether anyone knew how to refine potions with the cores, he offered the Wind Element Grand Archmage a secret route off the Maple Sugar Plane in exchange for other Tier 4 materials.

  • Prince Ak ordered the liches to attack Ang, and they opened a plane gate that released a vast undead army, including a powerful Bone Dragon.
  • Ang activated nine Magic Towers to strengthen Chaos Shield with holy light, destroying most of the first undead wave and drawing soul mist into the towers.
  • The liches sent another flood of undead through the gate, and Ang's defenses purified them and gathered their soul crystal cores.
  • Ang asked Katie and the Mermaid Empress whether they knew a potion formula for soul crystal cores, but both said they did not.
  • Ang secretly spoke with the Wind Element Grand Archmage, asked about Tier 4 materials, and offered him a hidden spatial passage out of the Maple Sugar Plane.

Ch. 984Fall (11)

Ang secured the Molten Sun Iron Heart from the Wind Element Grand Archmage and let him escape through a temporary passage, then accepted Shaya into his group in exchange for her ancient Soul Potion recipe. After consuming soul crystal cores, Ang expanded the Chaos Shield to thirty-six Magic Towers, while Lanlost and the others began planning to destroy the towers sustaining it.

  • Ang persuaded the Wind Element Grand Archmage to hand over the Molten Sun Iron Heart and opened a temporary passage for his escape from the Maple Sugar Plane.
  • Ang offered Shaya a portion of a Demon's body for her Soul Potion recipe, accepted her under conditions, and gave her the promised sealed portion.
  • Ang studied Shaya's recipe with Katie and the Mermaid Empress, then promised them Soul Potions if they gathered the required materials.
  • Ang consumed the soul crystal cores, strengthened his control over his powers, and added nine Magic Towers to the Chaos Shield.
  • Adelaide, Lanlost, Fesher, Prince Ak, and the undead failed to breach the gray barrier, so Lanlost proposed destroying the Magic Towers supporting it.

Ch. 985Falling (12)

Ang sent Katie, the Mermaid Empress, and Shaya away, then destroyed the second-rank undead army inside the Chaos Shield. He attacked the liches with a Holy Light Spear and fought the Bone Dragon, which escaped after Ang severed its tail.

  • Lanlost rejected Prince Ak's plan to lure Ang out, while the liches left to seek reinforcements for the Maple Sugar Plane.
  • Ang offered to send Katie, the Mermaid Empress, and Shaya away, then opened a spatial passage and sent them out of the battlefield.
  • Ang enlarged himself and crushed the second-rank undead army, collecting more than two thousand soul crystal cores.
  • Ang replaced the Shield of Holy Light with a massive spear and sent it through a spatial passage, striking the liches and unleashing a soul attack that hurt those nearby.
  • Ang bound the Bone Dragon with gray chains, severed its tail with a Chaos Blade, and blocked its soul-energy breath before it escaped with its tail left behind.

Ch. 986Falling (13)

Ang drove Lanlost, Adelaide, Prince Ak, and their allies into retreat with his Chaos Power, then ambushed them with a barrage of Chaos Blades. The attack left Adelaide and Prince Ak permanently maimed, while Ang remained protected inside the Chaos Shield.

  • Fisher withdrew east, and the burly man followed him, leaving Lanlost and Adelaide to face Ang.
  • Ang attacked Lanlost and Adelaide, but Adelaide summoned a Flame Giant that exploded and gave the Bone Dragon a chance to strike Ang; Ang repelled it and collected five of its teeth.
  • Adelaide tried to draw Ang's attention to Prince Ak, who held a clump of earth stained with Ang's blood, but Ang recognized it and stayed inside the Chaos Shield.
  • Ang summoned five gray giants, forcing Lanlost, Adelaide, the liches, and the Bone Dragon to retreat beyond the gray mist's boundary.
  • The giants opened a spatial rift and sent Chaos Blades raining down on the fleeing group, severing Adelaide's left arm and both of Prince Ak's legs and badly wounding Lanlost and the liches.
  • After the Chaos Power in their wounds weakened, Adelaide and Prince Ak tried to reattach their limbs, but neither Adelaide's arm nor Prince Ak's legs could be restored.

Ch. 987Fall (14)

Adelaide and Prince Ak fled after Ang defeated them, while Lanlost challenged Ang and was killed when Ang shattered his Spatial Domain. As nine Fourth-tier undead leaders sent an army against the Chaos Shield, Ang answered by activating the Shield of Holy Light.

  • Adelaide persuaded Prince Ak to retreat with him, and Ang let them escape while warning that he would kill them next time.
  • Lanlost stayed behind to challenge Ang, but Ang used his Chaos Blade to break the Spatial Domain, snap Lanlost’s spear, and cut him down.
  • Ang collected Lanlost’s ashes after burning away his remains, while three liches decided to pursue his Chaos Power for their own advancement.
  • Six spatial gates opened, releasing an undead army and six leaders who joined the three liches to attack the Chaos Shield.
  • Ang activated the Shield of Holy Light, which burned the first undead creatures to touch it into ashes.

Ch. 988Fall (15)

Ang defended the Chaos Shield against an enormous undead army, killing Bloodnight Prince and surviving the army’s attempt to undermine the shield. As the Abyssal rift consumed the surrounding land and formed pure Chaos Power, Ang refined his own power and absorbed the Chaos Fog, while the remaining undead began destroying the terrain to make it form again.

  • Ang used the Shield of Holy Light, the Water-Fire Thunderstorm, and other spells to hold back the undead army for two hours while collecting Soul Crystals and Bloodline Crystals.
  • The nine Fourth-tier undead attacked the Chaos Shield, and Ang bound Bloodnight Prince, killed him with Chaos Spears and Chaos Fire, and forced the remaining undead to retreat with a larger host of gray giants.
  • The undead army dug beneath the Chaos Shield to attack its foundation, but the Abyssal rift’s suction erupted and began swallowing the undead, mountains, and lava as Ang raised the shield into the sky.
  • Ang watched pure Chaos Power gather into Chaos Fog and circulated his own power through his eight arms, refining it at the cost of half its quantity.
  • The eight remaining Fourth-tier undead entered the Chaos Fog to strengthen themselves, but Ang absorbed it with the thirty-six Magic Towers and flew higher as the undead destroyed the surrounding terrain to hasten its return.

Ch. 989Fall

Ang fled the spreading magma sea as the Maple Sugar Plane collapsed, then used prayers from the Archipelago Plane’s inhabitants to strengthen his Magic Towers with faith. As a demon and a sacred white figure faced off, Adelaide and Prince Ak completed a ritual that killed them, and a gray figure captured Ang and Chaos Shield in a net before vanishing.

  • Ang escaped the spreading magma sea with the thirty-six Magic Towers as a Balrog emerged and the Maple Sugar Plane began collapsing.
  • Ang contacted Black Claw through Divine Prayer and ordered the kobolds and trusted people on the Archipelago Plane to pray so he could locate the plane.
  • Hundreds of thousands of prayers reached Ang, and he directed the impure faith power into the Magic Towers, strengthening the Chaos Shield while resisting the worshippers’ desires.
  • The Maple Sugar Plane collapsed into a sea of magma, and Ang saw the Abyssal Prison’s demon confront a sacred white figure in the sky.
  • Adelaide and Prince Ak completed a ritual and turned to ash, after which a gray figure trapped Ang and Chaos Shield in a net and vanished into the void.

Ch. 990Falling (17)

Ang survived the Maple Sugar Plane’s destruction and woke in the Plane Sea, where faith power had driven the curse from his soul. Two years later, he remained missing while Natiya defended World City against the empire’s demand to send its Second-tier experts to the God-Demon Battlefield.

  • As the gray curse net overwhelmed Ang, he sent Natiya and Quintina urgent instructions and a final confession before losing consciousness.
  • The Maple Sugar Plane collapsed into the abyssal prison, while faith power drove the curse from Ang and kept him alive inside the Chaos Shield.
  • Ang woke among thirty-six Magic Towers, expelled the remaining curse, and set off through the Plane Sea by following the connection to his faithful.
  • Over two years, Quintina waited for Ang in World City while Natiya and the city’s defenders kept his stronghold protected.
  • An imperial envoy demanded that World City send its Second-tier experts to the God-Demon Battlefield, but Natiya refused and vowed to protect what Ang had built.

Ch. 991Coercion (1)

The emperor revealed that he had become a demigod, while Katie learned that Ang’s fate remained uncertain despite two prophecies declaring him dead. After the Christian Family declared war on the Archipelago Plane, all portals connecting it to the Empire suddenly closed, leaving the cause unclear.

  • A Rockefeller Family envoy reported that a target had refused to submit, so the man ordered the news passed to the Christian Family and questioned the Pan Family’s inaction.
  • Elijah told the emperor that Ang had likely died in the Maple Sugar Plane crash, and reported that several planes were separating from imperial rule.
  • The emperor revealed to Katie that Law Potion had made him a demigod, and Katie concealed her anger over the Alfred Family taking the Demon body she believed belonged to her.
  • Katie visited the Mermaid Empress, examined the sealed Demon body, and learned that Ang might still be alive because he had placed the seal on its box.
  • The Ocean High Priest divined that the maker of the Demon Sealing Box had returned to the embrace of the gods, and Katie left the Endless Sea without learning Ang’s fate.
  • Katie returned to Akreli and heard that the Christian Family had declared war on the Archipelago Plane, but portals between the plane and the Empire then all closed.

Ch. 992Coercion (2)

Dana destroyed Fortress of Will’s portal, while Natiya ordered World City to evacuate to the Sola Plane as hostile forces maneuvered to seize the Archipelago Plane. Augustus and Tavia returned to the Empire and rejected involvement, leaving the Black Magic Society to consider recruiting Therese instead.

  • Dana cleared the crowd from Fortress of Will’s portal hall and destroyed the Plane Portal with magic bombs, leaving Pute helpless.
  • Natiya and Puri decided to move World City’s forces and supplies to the Sola Plane despite its unbalanced elements, and civilians began evacuating too.
  • Viscount Horsey sought the Black Magic Society’s help to contact Augustus and Tavia, then sent a letter and magic crystals through its channels.
  • Augustus, Tavia, and Therese arrived in Akreli, where Tavia said he would not pursue revenge for his teacher and Therese expressed a desire to return to her people.
  • Katie refused her family’s request to help World City, citing the Manchester Family’s limited strength and the closed portals.
  • Augustus and Tavia rejected the Black Magic Society’s appeal to intervene in the Archipelago Plane, and the Society’s host considered approaching Therese.

Ch. 993Coercion (3)

Therese joined the Black Magic Society after learning that the portals to the Archipelago Plane had been closed and the Christian Family had insulted her. At a secret exchange meeting, she heard that Ang might have left behind something in the Archipelago Plane capable of opposing Fourth-tier experts.

  • A white-robed mage revealed that he belonged to the Black Magic Society and told Therese that the portals to the Archipelago Plane had been closed and its main portal might have been destroyed.
  • The mage reported that the Empire's prophets believed Ang was dead, while Duke Christian later demanded that Therese return as Adelaide's servant and help overthrow World City's rule.
  • After several days of isolation, Therese agreed to join the Black Magic Society and moved into its Akreli headquarters.
  • Therese attended a secret exchange meeting with fifteen masked Tier 3 experts, where they discussed the Empire and the Archipelago Plane.
  • A masked expert claimed Ang had hunted a Tier 4 Foul Spirit and might have left something in the Archipelago Plane capable of contending with Fourth-tier experts, exciting the gathered members.

Ch. 994Coercion (4)

Therese returned to the Archipelago Plane through the Black Magic Society’s unstable teleportation array and found her lizardman people still alive but unwilling to fight the Empire. As the Black Magic Society and Astrologer’s Guild secretly assembled forces near World City, portals brought the Christian Family’s warriors and then an army of hundreds of thousands to the Litchfield Plains.

  • The Black Magic Society revealed a route to the Archipelago Plane, and Therese agreed to travel there when its teleportation array activated three days later.
  • Therese survived the dangerous teleport, reached the Amos Mountains, and learned that her lizardman people had survived while losing most of their great warriors.
  • Therese returned to her former territory, saw that the lizardmen had accepted life under the Empire, and watched World City from a distance while fearing Ang and the thirty-one giants beneath the World Tree.
  • The Black Magic Society moved nearly five thousand members into the Archipelago Plane, while the Astrologer’s Guild secretly built a Plane Portal at Viscount Horsey’s estate.
  • The portal connected to a Christian Family Plane Portal, allowing nearly ten thousand Enchanted Armament warriors through before the Astrologer’s Guild opened further channels and brought hundreds of thousands of soldiers to the Litchfield Plains.

Ch. 995Coercion (5)

Natiya and Dana struck first against the forces threatening World City, wiping out the Black Magic Society camp and devastating the Christian Family army. After Slok’s knights finished off the enemy’s Enchanted Armament Corps, he confronted the horror of fighting fellow humans.

  • Natiya learned that the Christian Family had stationed one hundred thousand troops in the Archipelago Plane and ordered Dana to deliver a welcome attack.
  • Dana led a thousand Flame Swordsmen to destroy the Black Magic Society’s five-thousand-member camp, while Therese watched and decided to attack World City only if Ang was absent.
  • Natiya and Slok led three thousand warriors in a surprise bombardment of the Christian Family army near the Litchfield Plains, scattering its troops and collapsing their morale.
  • Slok led the Enchanted Armament Knights in a charge that slaughtered the Christian Family’s Enchanted Armament Corps.
  • Slok surveyed the battlefield and struggled with the realization that he had fought and killed humans like himself.

Ch. 996Pressing the Enemy (6)

Natiya destroyed the Christian Family’s forces and Plane Portal at the Horsey estate, then led an assault that eliminated the Black Magic Society’s stronghold. After the Astrologer’s Guild opened a secret route into the Archipelago Plane, more than ten third-tier powerhouses arrived above World City and prepared to seize its treasures.

  • Natiya’s airships shattered the Horsey estate’s shield, killed a legendary warrior, and destroyed the Plane Portal with giant magic bombs.
  • News of the Christian Family’s defeat reached Katie, Emperor Alfred VII, and Rubi; Rubi’s father ordered the family to join forces with other third-tier powerhouses.
  • Natiya’s Magic Corps destroyed the Black Magic Society’s stronghold in the Amos Mountains, forcing the society to lie low.
  • The Astrologer’s Guild revealed that one of its members remained in the Archipelago Plane and agreed to construct a small Magic Teleportation Array for interested powerhouses.
  • Dozens of third-tier powerhouses entered the Archipelago Plane, and more than ten reached the skies above World City, eyeing the city and World Tree as prizes.

Ch. 997Coercion (7)

Natiya and World City's defenders repelled an assault by dozens of third-tier powerhouses with explosive and frost bolts, while Drumil's spatial domain neutralized a Spatial Blade aimed at the city's barrier. The attackers then began a relentless siege, bombarding the barrier for three days and nights as the city's defenders endured.

  • A Christian Family warrior demanded World City's surrender, but Natiya refused to let the attackers' threats unsettle the defenders.
  • The attackers launched a combined assault, and Natiya ordered the walls and airships to fire explosive bolts that blasted the third-tier powerhouses to the ground without killing them.
  • Puri advised using Frost Arrows, and Natiya's forces froze the attackers before she ordered the airships to withdraw and stopped Dana from recklessly leaving the city.
  • After breaking free half an hour later, the attackers retreated five kilometers, where a purple-robed Archmage used a Spatial Blade scroll against the barrier.
  • Drumil used his innate spatial domain to dissolve the Spatial Blade, and seven Archmages began bombarding the barrier in shifts.
  • The seven Archmages kept attacking for three days and nights, leaving the people of World City under an unending siege.

Ch. 998Wrath (1)

With World City’s magic crystals nearly exhausted, Natiya and the defenders chose to stay and fight as the barrier fell and the attackers broke through the walls. The invading Legendary warriors entered an eerily empty outer district, while Natiya, Quintina, Dana, and the others prepared for what came next.

  • Natiya offered the defenders a chance to flee, but Dana, Puri, Isi, Quintina, and the others chose to remain and defend World City.
  • The seven Archmages’ bombardment finally shattered the barrier, and Natiya ordered the defenders to fire their Magic Ballistas at the advancing Legendary warriors.
  • Ballista fire and summoned Elemental Giants wounded and delayed the attackers, but the Legendary warriors split up and assaulted World City from several directions.
  • A Legendary warrior smashed through the city wall, and others entered the city, only to find its outer district completely deserted.
  • Natiya, Quintina, Dana, and the other defenders raised their weapons and staffs, standing ready atop the wall.

Ch. 999Wrath (2)

World City's defenders repelled the invading experts with the help of giants and magic scrolls, but the attackers continued to press the assault. Just as Quintina and Natiya’s group faced a deadly attack, Tavia intervened and earned their forgiveness for the earlier misunderstanding.

  • Legendary warriors ambushed the defenders on the city wall, but Puli merged thirty-one giants into three towering fighters who struck back.
  • Dana returned to the fight in rock armor, and the defenders killed a Christian Family legendary warrior and two Archmages with the giants and Spatial Blades.
  • The black-robed Archmage attacked the wall with shadow chains and killed a Snake-person Great Warrior, but Quintina used holy-light scrolls to break the chains and heal the defenders.
  • The Fire Archmage shattered the defenders’ barriers with a flaming arrow and two Flame Giants, but Tavia raised a rock shield to protect them.
  • Tavia told Quintina and Natiya he had saved them to make up for the previous misunderstanding, and they accepted his apology.

Ch. 1000Fury (3)

Ang broke into the Archipelago Plane and arrived at World City in time to defeat the invading Archmages and Legendary Warriors, but many of his companions had already died. He spent the night healing the survivors, then buried the fallen beneath the World Tree as Therese watched from hiding nearby.

  • Ang failed to find a rift into the Archipelago Plane, so he tore open its barrier with his Spatial Blade and brought the thirty-six Magic Towers through.
  • In World City, the black-robed Archmage killed Ellis while Quintina, Natiya, Pri, Isi, and the other captives watched helplessly.
  • Quintina and Natiya sensed Ang's return, and Ang killed the enemy Archmages and Legendary Warriors before healing the surviving defenders.
  • Ang learned that fewer than three hundred Great Warriors remained and ordered Pri and Isi to bring back those hiding in the Sola Plane.
  • Ang treated the wounded through the night, buried the fallen beneath the World Tree, and gained six Nightmare Kings by feeding them the enemy corpses.
  • Therese watched World City from a forest ten miles away, afraid that Ang would discover her.
