Miyabi is the daughter of Soichiro and a member of the Hoshimi Family, a prominent martial lineage. Her mother died in the incident that caused the Old Capital's fall; Miyabi visits the Great Rift Memorial Site in her memory and vows to bring every responsible criminal and accomplice to justice 80.

As the Anti-Air Sixth Division's Section Chief and the youngest Void Hunter, Miyabi is already renowned enough that students immediately recognize her when she attends Fu Hua's class 16 17. Her family intuition allows her to sense powerful presences and fuels her conviction that Fu Hua was the armored woman encountered in the Hollow 13 16.
