Background
The sect was founded more than a thousand years ago after its Patriarch sealed a Demon Soil containing a Demon King and countless Demonic Fiends. Unable to truly kill the near-immortal Demon King, the Patriarch established the Sky Sword Sect over the seal so that successive generations would guard it. 141
Maintaining the seal consumes nearly all of each sect leader's strength. This obligation limits the sect's ability to answer external aggression, particularly during transitions of leadership. Hidden families and rival sects repeatedly exploited these vulnerable periods to plunder the Sky Sword Sect. 141
The sect's disciples have historically been extremely few; even at its greatest prosperity, it had only five disciples. Its reputation nevertheless rested on the exceptional strength of those few inheritors. 76
Grounds and Defenses
Blessed Land of Sacred Prosperity
The Sky Sword Sect's ancestral land is later identified as the Blessed Land of Sacred Prosperity, an ancient sacred site whose occupant is said to eventually rise to the center of the starry sky after enduring its trials. 334
The grounds possess converging auspicious energy, spiritual veins, dense runes, and divine radiance. Their interior is obscured even from Lu Chen's karmic perception and appears to contain layered spaces. 335
After the living world was unsealed, the sect became saturated with Spirit Energy and transformed into a place resembling an ancient sacred land. 331
Demon King Seal
Beneath the sect lies a massive coffin containing the Demon Soil. A true divine sword left by the Patriarch serves as the core of its suppression; the colossal stone sword above it was only an outer shell. 141 69
- The sealed Demon King is accompanied by innumerable Demonic Fiends within the Demon Soil. 141
- The seal is the sect's foremost responsibility and the source of its longstanding conflict with the Demonic Fiends. 141
- When Lu Chen's Level Four Sword Intent resonated with the buried weapon, the stone exterior shattered and the divine sword flew into his hand. 69
Mountain-Guarding Formation
The sect maintains a mountain-guarding formation that creates a vast field of star-like Sword Qi with continuously shifting transformations. 97
- It was activated when Heaven Rankings experts converged to seize Dugu Wudi's Dao Fruit. 97
- Monk Yunkong shattered it using the one-time Closed-Mouth Zen Divine Art, demonstrating that the formation can be overcome at great cost. 97
Founding Ancestor's Sword Dao Puppet
A third-generation sect master refined the incorruptible corpse of the Founding Ancestor into a Sword Dao puppet during an earlier existential crisis. The puppet can approach the power of the highest-ranked Heaven Rankings experts, but using an ancestor's body is regarded by Dugu Wudi as an extreme and morally troubling last resort. 171 54
To operate the puppet, Lu Chen, Breeze Swordmaster, and Zhao Xuantian entered the Founding Ancestor's sea of consciousness and controlled it through a central formation. 171
Inheritances
- Sword Heart Source Diagram — The sect's core inheritance. It enabled Lu Chen to analyze its principles and immediately reach Level Three Sword Intent. 105
- Myriad Swords Contemplate the World — The sect's supreme spiritual cultivation method. 141
- Supreme Sword Classic — Used by Breeze Swordmaster as an introductory test for prospective disciples. 80
- Sword World Key — An inheritance key once removed with much of the sect's legacy for preservation, then returned to the Sky Sword Sect. It grants access to the Sword World. 99
- Sword Heart — The sect's ideal sword-dao state: a Divine Heart capable of comprehending martial arts at a glance and deriving sword techniques from observation. 172

History
Repeated Raids and Rivalry with the Sword Sect
The Sword Sect and Sky Sword Sect were hereditary enemies. During periods when the Sky Sword Sect was weakened, the Sword Sect and other forces breached its gates and ransacked it repeatedly, with accounts describing seven or eight successful plunderings. 24 39
The Sword Sect also stole numerous Sky Sword Sect ultimate arts while Dugu Wudi was in death seclusion, though it did not acquire the Sword Heart Source Diagrams. 170
Dao Fruit Siege
When Lu Chen brought a Dao Fruit to the sect, Dugu Wudi prepared to refine it for a breakthrough. Heaven Rankings experts, Northern Barbarians, and rival sects then gathered outside the mountain gate to prevent his success. 171 172
Dugu Wudi deployed the Founding Ancestor's Sword Dao puppet as the sect's emergency trump card. Lu Chen, Breeze Swordmaster, and Zhao Xuantian jointly controlled it to resist the attackers while Dugu Wudi refined the Dao Fruit. 171
Retaliation Against the Sword Sect
Following Dugu Wudi's breakthrough and the death of the Sword Sect Master, Dugu Wudi and Lu Chen launched a campaign to eradicate the Sword Sect and settle the accumulated grievances between the two sects. 54
Outer Realm Attention
The sect's unusual ancestral land drew the attention of the Space-Time Divine Clan, which recognized it as the Blessed Land of Sacred Prosperity but concealed that knowledge while attempting to investigate it. 334 335
After the Star Chain was unsealed, Netherworld and Outer Realm forces targeted the Sky Sword Sect in an effort to seize its resources and eliminate Lu Chen's influence. Lu Chen chose to protect the sect and instructed its seniors to bring their families there for safety. 331
Three hundred years later, the Sky Sword Sect remained intact and had become the planet's foremost major sect. Dugu Wudi's use of a Sword Talisman had deterred later Outer Realm forces from attacking it directly. 378
