Sky Sword Sect and the Sword World

Li Wangshu is the Sky Sword Sect's Third Generation Ancestor. After Lu Chen defeated the Third Generation Ancestor and his sword experts, Li Wangshu handed over the key to the Sword World, allowing Lu Chen to enter the realm of deceased sword masters. 99

Within the Sword World, Li Wangshu manifests as an indistinct black-robed figure and is recognized as a formidable figure even by the Blade World. His hostile exchange with Blade Venerable Li Wuji established that the two had known each other for a long time. 226

His standing within the sect is complicated by his treatment of the First Generation Ancestor's remains: Li Wangshu refined the Founding Ancestor's physical body into a treasure. The First Generation Ancestor repeatedly beats and berates him for this act, while Dugu Wudi considers it an unforgivable betrayal. 261 284

Netherworld expeditions

Li Wangshu guided Lu Chen through the Sword World and ghostly realms to locate the imprisoned First Generation Ancestor. He understood the Gatekeeper's rules, paid with Yin Virtue Coins, and explained that the coins are condensed from the collective thoughts and reputation of living people. 260 261

He later accompanied Lu Chen into the Sword Cemetery. Although he initially tried to direct the expedition, Lu Chen's knowledge of the Sword God's lingering resentment, the Yin Yang Jade Pendant, and the inheritance route quickly placed Lu Chen in command. 245

When they encountered the Time-Space Dao Master's lingering threat in the Sword Cemetery, Li Wangshu was badly injured; he and Lu Chen used pills to restore their damaged Dharma Bodies before continuing their search. 246

Outer Realm crisis and later years

During Venerable Xuanming's descent, Li Wangshu and Dugu Wudi attempted to flee after witnessing the enemy's power. Xuanming's attack nearly destroyed their spiritual bodies and detonated their physical bodies; Li Wangshu escaped by using a secret technique to burrow underground. 286

He later joined Lu Chen against another Outer Realm enemy, Venerable Xuan Ji. Li Wangshu physically subdued Xuan Ji and tried to interrogate him before Lu Chen executed and subsequently resurrected the captive as a servant. 292

Three centuries later, Li Wangshu reunited with Lu Chen, Dugu Wudi, and other survivors in the transformed Wasteland. By then, he had reached the God Realm. 378

He is also pragmatic and protective of the Sky Sword Sect. He brings Lu Chen to meet the First Generation Ancestor partly because Lu Chen's reputation may protect him from punishment, but he consistently shares information, provides guidance, and worries about Lu Chen's safety against stronger enemies. 260 248

After Lu Chen's power eclipses his own, Li Wangshu adapts rather than resisting the change. He acknowledges Lu Chen's superiority, accepts cultivation guidance from his former junior, and recognizes that Lu Chen has become the strongest Divine Emperor in the Starry Sky. 281 378
