Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto had complicated feelings toward Zhang Miao.

In truth, from the very first time he saw Zhang Miao, he had considered him an outstanding talent. If he could bring him under his command, it would be beneficial to both himself and the Seireitei.

At the same time, however, his instincts told him that Zhang Miao was not someone who could be controlled. For the Soul Society, there was simply no way to determine whether such an uncontrollable person would be good or bad.

But with a great enemy at hand, he had no choice but to set such concerns aside. Seeing that Zhang Miao had accepted the appointment as an instructor at Shino Academy, he immediately made a gesture.

Upon seeing his gesture, his adjutant, Chōjirō Sasakibe, promptly carried over a stack of clothes and an Asauchi, presenting them to Zhang Miao.

"Teacher from Konoha, these are the clothes and Asauchi the Captain-Commander has prepared for you. Please accept them!"

"Mm, all right!"

Hearing Chōjirō Sasakibe's words, Zhang Miao immediately nodded and accepted the clothes and Asauchi.

Only after Zhang Miao had taken them did Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto speak again.

"The clothes are those of a Shino Academy instructor. You must wear them upon entering the academy. As for this Asauchi, once you pour your spirit and convictions into it, it will become your own unique Zanpakuto!"

The Soul Society's Zanpakuto were all forged by one of the five leaders of the Royal Guard, the master of Phoenix Hall, the "God of Blades," Nimaiya Ōetsu. However, what he forged were only the most primitive Zanpakuto, also known as Asauchi.
