Captain Assessment (Part Two)

Facing the Menos onslaught, the current captains and captain candidates trapped within the illusion all drew their Zanpakuto and fought desperately against the Vastod.

As they fought, feeling the reality of battle and the pain of injury, they finally understood why the seated officers under their command who had graduated from Shino Academy called Zhang Miao the "Great Demon King."

What Great Demon King? He was practically a Great Devil!

But they had no time to regret it now. Driven into a desperate situation, they could only release their Zanpakuto, then unleash their Bankai, and fight the charging Vastod with everything they had!

Unfortunately, it was of little use. As more and more Vastod leaped down from above, they were soon surrounded by an endless tide of them.

Then, the Vastod began gathering Ceros. Ceros of every color converged in that instant like a towering tidal wave, swiftly swallowing them whole.

What followed was the boundless darkness brought by death...

This was a day the old and new captains of the 13th Division would never forget, because on this day, they experienced the terror of being ruled by the Demon King's Illusion!

Fortunately, Zhang Miao's purpose this time was to test them, not torment them. So after dying once, it was over for them. They did not die until they doubted their own existence like the graduates of Shino Academy.

Under Zhang Miao's control, anyone who died in the illusion would immediately break free from it and regain their senses.

At that point, Zhang Miao would take out a small notebook to record their results before moving on to observe the next person.

Two hours later, as Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni also emerged from the illusion, Zhang Miao picked up the booklet in his hand and began announcing each captain's results.
